An improved kinetic model based on thermal decomposition of biomass constituents, i.e. cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, is developed in the present study. The model considers the independent parallel reactions of order n producing volatiles and charcoal from each biomass constituent. While estimating the kinetic parameters, the order of degradation of biomass constituents is also checked and found to be matching with the order of degradation reported in the literature. The results of thermo-gravimetric analysis of Jatropha de-oiled cakes are used to find the kinetic parameters. The experimental runs are carried out using a thermo-gravimetric analyzer (TGA 4000, Perkin Elmer). TGA study is performed in a nitrogen atmosphere under non-isothermal conditions at different heating rates and the thermal decomposition profiles are used. The model is simulated using finite difference method to predict the pyrolysis rate. The corresponding parameters of the model are estimated by minimizing the square of the error between the model predicted values of residual weight fraction and the experimental data of thermogravimetry. The minimization of square of the error is performed using non-traditional optimization technique logarithmic differential evolution (LDE).  相似文献

The inevitable influence of large excavation in soft soils on nearby tunnels is of great concern in practice. In this paper, the influence of a nearby large excavation on existing metro tunnels of the Ningbo Metro Line 1 in sensitive soft soils is investigated and presented. Considerable displacement in the left tunnel closer to the excavation induced by the nearby excavation was revealed by field monitoring. Visible cracks and leakages were observed in left tunnel linings. Three dimensional numerical simulations are conducted to investigate the responses of the ground and left tunnel due to the adjacent excavation. The development of bending moment and displacement of the left tunnel during different construction stages of the nearby excavation is obtained. Then the interaction mechanism between the nearby excavation, surrounding soils and existing twin tunnels is investigated, which is of significance to the interpretation of the influence of the nearby excavation on the existing twin tunnels. Several protective measures for alleviating the influence of adjacent excavation on left tunnel are studied, including divided excavation, soil improvement and a cut-off wall. It is found that the left tunnel is influenced to varying degrees during different construction stages and the time effect is distinct for this large excavation in soft soils, which would be suggestive to engineers to pay more attention to the protection of adjacent tunnel during the crucial construction stages. The bending moment and displacement of the left tunnel is strongly related to the unloading effects and displacement of surrounding soils, which can be alleviated by means of proper improvement of excavation sequence. Comparatively, longitudinally divided excavation is more effective in protecting the left tunnel than soil improvement or a cut-off wall. This study is of certain reference value for protecting metro tunnels adjacent excavation in soft soils.  相似文献

Composite materials have been known for its low density, ease in fabrication, high structural rigidity, and wide range applications, i.e. aeronautic applications and automotive industry. Due to this, extensive studies had been conducted to evaluate its axial crushing ability to replace metallic materials. In this paper, it reviewed the usage of fibre reinforced plastic composite (FRP) as an energy absorption application device. Failure modes and geometrical designs such as shapes, geometry and triggering effect have been studied where these factors affected on peak load and specific energy absorption significantly. Accordingly, numerical analysis for axial crushing of affected factors had been simulated to predict the failure mechanisms of FRP composites.  相似文献

Study on the surface roughness of specimen is a significant field of research because this parameter affects the performance of the machined parts. Meanwhile, the evaluation of surface roughness of specimens using a vision system via the images captured from the specimen is an interesting method which is widely used. Although the effect of flank and crater wear has been investigated extensively in the past researches on surface profiles, some reports indicated that, in finish turning, the nose radius wear has a greater effect on the surface profile of specimen. Although, vibration can affect the surface profile of a specimen in rough turning, the final surface profile in the product used is usually shaped by finish turning that may not be affected by vibration using the robust machine tool. In this work, a machine vision was used to capture the images of the tool tip in-cycle. The 2-D images of the nose area of tool tips were used to simulate the surface profile of specimens in finish turning. The simulated images of specimens in a range of machining condition were detected using the algorithm of this work. The results showed that this method can be used successfully to simulate and evaluate the surface profile of a specimen in finish lathe machining as a fingerprint of the tool tip. This method can be used for forecasting the final surface profile in order to control the performance of products.  相似文献

A micro-pressure wave (MPW) is generated when a train enters a tunnel at high speed, which causes a strong impact on the environment around the tunnel. The increased lining used to repair damage in high-speed railway tunnels changes cross-sections and has a strong influence on the MPW at the tunnel exit. In this paper, the methods of full-scale measurement, numerical simulation and moving-model experiments are used to study the MPW generated in a tunnel whose lining is increased. The rules governing the effect of increased linings on MPWs are obtained, which can be used as a reference for the Tunnel Damage Regulation Project in China.  相似文献

Benchmarking is comparing the output of different systems for a given set of input data in order to improve the system’s performance. Faced with the lack of realistic and operational benchmarks that can be used for testing optimization methods and control systems in flexible systems, this paper proposes a benchmark system based on a real production cell. A three-step method is presented: data preparation, experimentation, and reporting. This benchmark allows the evaluation of static optimization performances using traditional operation research tools and the evaluation of control system's robustness faced with unexpected events.  相似文献

In order to develop highly accurate model for crop yield estimation,an approach of retrieving regional crop yield was studied by Radiation Use Efficiency (RUE) and remote sensing data,the Jifangzha irrigation is of Hetao irrigation district of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was selected as a research case.Based on this model,the difference of the Dry Matter Accumulation (DMA) between the maize’s different growing stages is made and a comparative analysis of the measured yields,and the predicted results based on this model.The results show that the DMA of the maize’s jointing stage is maximal,about 40% of total amount.The measured yield and the predicted ones based on the model has a greater correlation,the Correlation Coefficient was 0.853 and passed the reliability of 0.01.The difference of the DMA in different growing stages showed that the sensitive degree was displayed between main growing stages and yield,and that were some key aspects:the main limiting factor in growing stages and raising yield.These results indicate the model for spring maize yield estimation is feasible and effective based on the RUE and multi-temporal remotely sensing data.  相似文献

In this paper, numerical and experimental investigations on a magnetic refrigeration device based upon the active magnetic regeneration (AMR) cycle operating near room temperature are presented. A numerical 1D model based on the transient energy equations is proposed for modelling the heat exchange between the magnetocaloric material and the carrier fluid in the regenerator bed. The validity of 1D AMR-numerical model is investigated through the recently developed magnetic cooling demonstrator by Clean Cooling Systems SA (CCS) at the University of Applied Sciences of western Switzerland (HES−SO). The obtained results including the temperature span, the coefficient of performance and the cooling power are presented and discussed. In general, good agreements have been noted between the experimental and numerical results.  相似文献

Welding-induced distortion not only reduces largely manufacturing accuracy but also decreases significantly productivity due to correction works. If welding distortion can be predicted through a simple and practical method beforehand, the predictions will be helpful for taking active as well as appropriate measures to control the dimension accuracy. Based on inherent strain theory and interface element formulation, we developed a practical prediction system to compute the accumulated distortion during the welding assembly process in the current study. Using the developed prediction method, we calculated the welding distortion in a thin plate structure with considering both the shrinkage due to heat input and the gap/misalignment generated during assembly process. Meanwhile, we investigated the influences of assembly sequence and gap correction on the final distortion.  相似文献
