Mutation testing has traditionally been used as a defect injection technique to assess the effectiveness of a test suite as represented by a “mutation score.” Recently, mutation testing tools have become more efficient, and industrial usage of mutation analysis is experiencing growth. Mutation analysis entails adding or modifying test cases until the test suite is sufficient to detect as many mutants as possible and the mutation score is satisfactory. The augmented test suite resulting from mutation analysis may reveal latent faults and provides a stronger test suite to detect future errors which might be injected. Software engineers often look for guidance on how to augment their test suite using information provided by line and/or branch coverage tools. As the use of mutation analysis grows, software engineers will want to know how the emerging technique compares with and/or complements coverage analysis for guiding the augmentation of an automated test suite. Additionally, software engineers can benefit from an enhanced understanding of efficient mutation analysis techniques. To address these needs for additional information about mutation analysis, we conducted an empirical study of the use of mutation analysis on two open source projects. Our results indicate that a focused effort on increasing mutation score leads to a corresponding increase in line and branch coverage to the point that line coverage, branch coverage and mutation score reach a maximum but leave some types of code structures uncovered. Mutation analysis guides the creation of additional “common programmer error” tests beyond those written to increase line and branch coverage. We also found that 74% of our chosen set of mutation operators is useful, on average, for producing new tests. The remaining 26% of mutation operators did not produce new test cases because their mutants were immediately detected by the initial test suite, indirectly detected by test suites we added to detect other mutants, or were not able to be detected by any test.

Ben Smith   is a second year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at North Carolina State University working as an RA under Dr. Laurie Williams. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in May of 2007 and he hopes to receive his doctorate in 2012. He has begun work on developing SQL Coverage Metrics as a predictive measure of the security of a web application. This fall, he will be beginning the doctoral preliminary exam and working as a Testing Manager for the NCSU CSC Senior Design Center: North Carolina State’s capstone course for Computer Science. Finally, he has designed and maintained the websites for the Center for Open Software Engineering and ESEM 2009. Laurie Williams   is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department of the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University. She leads the Software Engineering Reasearch group and is also the Director of the North Carolina State University Laboratory for Collaborative System Development and the Center for Open Software Engineering. She is also technical co-director of the Center for Open Software Engineering (COSE) and the area technical director of the Secure Open Systems Initiative (SOSI) at North Carolina State University. Laurie received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah, her MBA from Duke University, and her BS in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University. She worked for IBM for nine years in Raleigh, NC before returning to academia. Laurie’s research interests include agile software development methodologies and practices, collaborative/pair programming, software reliability and testing, and software engineering for secure systems development.   相似文献

Open Science is a paradigm in which scientific data, procedures, tools and results are shared transparently and reused by society. The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative is an effort in Europe to provide an open, trusted, virtual and federated computing environment to execute scientific applications and store, share and reuse research data across borders and scientific disciplines. Additionally, scientific services are becoming increasingly data-intensive, not only in terms of computationally intensive tasks but also in terms of storage resources. To meet those resource demands, computing paradigms such as High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Cloud Computing are applied to e-science applications. However, adapting applications and services to these paradigms is a challenging task, commonly requiring a deep knowledge of the underlying technologies, which often constitutes a general barrier to its uptake by scientists. In this context, EOSC-Synergy, a collaborative project involving more than 20 institutions from eight European countries pooling their knowledge and experience to enhance EOSC’s capabilities and capacities, aims to bring EOSC closer to the scientific communities. This article provides a summary analysis of the adaptations made in the ten thematic services of EOSC-Synergy to embrace this paradigm. These services are grouped into four categories: Earth Observation, Environment, Biomedicine, and Astrophysics. The analysis will lead to the identification of commonalities, best practices and common requirements, regardless of the thematic area of the service. Experience gained from the thematic services can be transferred to new services for the adoption of the EOSC ecosystem framework. The article made several recommendations for the integration of thematic services in the EOSC ecosystem regarding Authentication and Authorization (federated regional or thematic solutions based on EduGAIN mainly), FAIR data and metadata preservation solutions (both at cataloguing and data preservation—such as EUDAT’s B2SHARE), cloud platform-agnostic resource management services (such as Infrastructure Manager) and workload management solutions.  相似文献

随着电网规模的持续扩大,串补长距离输电系统引发的次同步振荡现象频现。因此,如何探析串补输电系统失稳的深层原因是当前系统稳定性分析发展方向之一。本文基于开环模式谐振理论,提出了一种串补输电线路引发次同步振荡的开环模式谐振分析方法,文章首先建立了直驱风电场外接串补输电线路的小信号模型,并通过开环模式谐振分析方法研究了串补线路和直驱风电场之间的动态交互作用。结果表明串补主导的开环次同步振荡模式与风电场主导的开环次同步振荡模式在复平面靠近时,系统的闭环稳定性将会下降,并运用残差指标成功预测了开环模式谐振条件下闭环模式的位置,而改变风机参数或调整串补度可以规避动态交互的发生。本文通过算例系统验证了上述理论分析的正确性,证明直驱风电场通过串补输电线路进行输电时存在一定的失稳风险,能在一定程度上为串补输电系统的参数整定提供借鉴。  相似文献

Open innovation has transformed internal novel resource allocation and facilitated diverse interorganizational cooperation models. Previous studies have investigated open innovation archetypes and their formation. However, most researchers have neglected the crucial role that team leaders play in integrating internal and external resources and connecting creative ideas in open innovation. This study investigated the influence of open innovation archetypes and team leaders’ innovation traits on team performance. On the basis of the literature review, the analytical hierarchy process was applied to construct a framework for assessing and selecting team leaders in open innovation. The analysis was completed based on samples from 45 valid respondents (88% return rate) in Taiwan’s high-tech industry. The study results suggested that innovation knowledge is the most crucial innovation criterion for a leader, particularly core knowledge and advanced knowledge. Among the various sub-criteria, extrinsic motivation was the second most important sub-criterion. Leaders with strong innovation motivations are suitable to lead inbound open innovation projects.  相似文献

We report here for the first time, on the comparative studies of the photophysical and optical limiting behavior of our two novel phthalocyanines namely 2(3), 9(10), 16(17), 23(24)-tetrakis-(4-(5-methylhex-1-yn-3-yloxy)) phthalocyanines 2, and 2(3), 9(10), 16(17), 23(24)-tetrakis-(4-(5-methylhex-1-yn-3-yloxy)) phthalocyaninato zinc (II) (3) in solution and thin films. Nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of the samples in solution and contained in polysulfone (PSU) thin films were evaluated using Z-scan technique at 532 nm and 10 ns pulsed duration. Effects of aggregation and disaggregation on the NLO performance of metal-free phthalocyanine are reported in detail. Our findings showed that the prepared Pcs show larger nonlinear absorption coefficient and lower limiting thresholds when embedded in polysulfone films compared to in solutions. The values of nonlinear susceptibility and hyperpolarizability recorded for 3-PSU in this work are respectively, ∼2.09 × 10−8 esu and ∼1.02 × 10−26 esu. These values are among the largest values reported for phthalocyanines and other macrocycles doped on polymer matrices.  相似文献

针对现有学习系统存在信息过载、缺乏个性化服务能力、不能提供检索服务的问题,提出基于多代理构建个性化推荐学习系统。该系统利用JADE设计学习者Agent与推荐Agent,采用Lucene设计带有个性化能力的搜索引擎支持推荐,并融合3种推荐方法发挥多Agent间协商与协作的优势。实验结果表明,相比单一推荐方法,该系统具有较好的推荐效果和效率。  相似文献
