In this study we bridge traditional standalone data-driven and knowledge-driven process monitoring approaches by proposing a novel hybrid framework that exploits the advantages of both simultaneously. Namely, we design a process monitoring system based on a data-driven model that includes two different data types: i) “actual” data coming from sensor measurements, and ii) “virtual” data coming from a state estimator, based on a first-principles model of the system under investigation. We test the proposed approach on two simulated case studies: a continuous polycondensation process for the synthesis of poly-ethylene terephthalate, and a fed-batch fermentation process for the manufacturing of penicillin. The hybrid monitoring model shows superior fault detection and diagnosis performances with respect to conventional monitoring techniques, even when the first-principles model is relatively simple and process/model mismatch exists. 相似文献

As the core of Industry 4.0, the intelligent manufacturing technology requires robotic arms to be networked, customized and flexible. Traditional industrial robots have a large number of electrical cables. The end effectors cannot be easily replaced. In this paper, a reconfigurable modular arm with quick replacement of tools and its neural adaptive control system are developed. It consists of an anthropomorphic 7 degree-of-freedom (DOF) manipulator, a reconfigurable connection mechanism (RCM) and a wireless controller. Based on the modular design ideas, each joint is integrated with a motor, a harmonic reducer, two encoders and a servo controller to achieve high torque capacity but keep light weight. Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) wires and steel spheres are used in the RCM to provide mechanical and electrical connections between the arm and the end effector for rapid replacement. The central controller communicates with each servo controller through wireless communication links. Furthermore, the neural adaptive control method compensating position and force tracking errors caused by the model uncertainty and time delay is addressed. Finally, the prototype is fabricated and experiments are carried out. The developed arm has high position accuracy, force control accuracy, and reliable reconfigurable capability. 相似文献

In recent years, Industry 4.0 has been introduced as a popular term to describe the trend towards digitisation and automation of the manufacturing environment. Despite its potential benefits in terms of improvements in productivity and quality, this concept has not gained much attention in the construction industry. This development is founded in the fact that the far-reaching implications of the increasingly digitised and automated manufacturing environment are still widely unknown. Against this backdrop, the primary objective of this paper is to explore the state of the art as well as the state of practice of Industry 4.0 relating technologies in the construction industry by pointing out the political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal implications of its adoption. In this context, we present the results of our triangulation approach, which consists of a comprehensive systematic literature review and case study research, by illustrating a PESTEL framework and a value chain model.
