Single-mode fluorotellurite glass fiber

By multi-stage rod-in-tube fiber drawing process, a single-mode fluorotellurite glass fiber was fabricated and reported for the first time. Benefiting from chemical–physical dehydration process to remove water and OH⁻ groups, the propagation loss was decreased to 1.9 dB/m at 1550 nm and the infrared window is extended from 2.8 μm to 4.2 μm, i.e. a new kind of mid-infrared glass fiber. The fiber is with a small core of 3.52 μm in diameter to meet single-mode condition, and the effective nonlinear parameter γ was estimated to be 236.7 W⁻¹ km⁻¹ at 1550 nm by using continuous-wave self-phase modulation method. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. Analysis of layer splitting in x and z-cut KTiOPO4 implanted by H+ ions

H⁺ ions with various fluences are implanted into x and z-cut KTP crystals to achieve KTP film. Post-implantation annealing under different temperature is imposed on the samples to induce layer splitting and surface morphology modification. Layer exfoliation is observed in freestanding z-cut samples. Layer splitting is obtained using bonding method in x-cut sample implanted with 117 keV H⁺ ions at ion fluence of 6 × 10¹⁶ ions/cm². Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscopy are used to observe splitting phenomenon. Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy/channeling method is employed to measure lattice damage and to investigate the relationship between implantation-induced defects and layer splitting.     

Photoelectric properties of the photoconducting film composites based on ferrocenyl‐ and carbazolyl‐containing oligomer doped with polymethine dye

New photosensitive polymeric film composites based on oligomer containing ferrocenyl and carbazolyl fragments doped with symmetric polymethine dye are synthesized. Their photoelectric properties are investigated. Photovoltaic properties of these composites are detected. The mechanisms and peculiarities of the photovoltaic and photodielectric effects are discussed.
