Palm oil biodiesel (POB) is characterized by a very high cold soak filtration time (CSFT), which places the acceptability of this biofuel at risk. Therefore, the effect of four adsorbents, namely diatomaceous earth, natural silicate (NS), neutral bleaching earth (NBE), and acid activated bleaching earth (AABE), at two levels of addition (1 and 5 wt%) or two temperatures (25 and 110 °C) on the precipitate content and CSFT of POB was investigated. The impact on total glycerin content, moisture content, and oxidative stability was also examined. All treatments significantly decreased the precipitate content, total glycerin content, and moisture content, but only treatments with NS, NBE, and AABE at 5 wt% and 25 °C achieved acceptable filterability. The OSI value was also decreased; however, it remained above the ASTM limit. Operational conditions of treatment with AABE were further optimized in a two‐factor, five‐level center composite design. The combination of 0.65 wt% AABE and 10 min at 25 °C decreased CSFT to below the ASTM limit. Lower adsorbent concentrations could be effective down to 0.44 wt%, given a corresponding increase in the contact time up to 30 min. 相似文献

The aim of the present study was to compare different rape varieties. For this purpose oil from six different varieties of rapeseeds was cold pressed under laboratory conditions. In the obtained rapeseed oils the fatty acids composition and minor components, characteristic values (acid value; AV and TOTOX), oxidative stability (DSC test), and volatiles were determined and a sensory evaluation was carried out. The highest oxidative stability was found for oil from sample 5 (IP = 158 min), which also has the lowest amount of C18:3 (7.8%), chlorophylls (0.083 mg/kg), and metals (Cu2+ 0.02 mg/kg and Fe2+ 0.08 mg/kg). This oil has also the lowest AV (0.17 mg KOH/g), which may be related to the lowest moisture content of the seeds prior to extraction. It was characterized by the highest rapeseed flavor intensity. The lowest induction period was observed for samples 3 and 6 (100 min). Although sample 3 had the same low level of metals as sample 5 and the highest concentration of tocopherols (635 mg/kg), PUFA (33.9%), and AV (1.37 mg KOH/g) it also had the lowest intensity of rapeseed flavor among the analyzed oils. Sample 6, despite its low percentage of PUFA (24.7%), conjugated diens and triens, and the lowest content of total volatiles (0.4Vs), had the highest concentration of metals (Cu2+ 0.04 mg/kg and Fe2+ 0.34 mg/kg). 相似文献

In this work, cold sintering was adopted to prepare Na2WO4 ceramics with different grain sizes ranging from 0.632 μm to 17.825 μm. Their microstructures, complex impedance, and microwave dielectric properties were studied in-depth. It was found that samples with relative densities higher than 92% can be successfully synthesized by cold sintering process at a low temperature of 240 °C. However, their electrical properties have strong dependence on the grain size. Specifically, the resistance of grain boundaries decreases dramatically with the increase of grain sizes, while the quality factor has a positive correlation with the grain sizes of Na2WO4 ceramics. Excellent microwave dielectric properties, including permittivity = 5.80, Q × f = 22,000 GHz, and TCF = −70 ppm/°C, are obtained for Na2WO4 ceramics with a grain size of 4.477 μm prepared by cold sintering process. 相似文献

Several intermediate steps were applied before the precursor infiltration and pyrolysis process to improve the infiltration of SiC slurry for promoting the infiltration of SiC slurry into fiber voids. These steps include sonication, popping, electrophoretic deposition, vacuum infiltration and cold isostatic pressing (CIP). The intermediate processes, especially popping and CIP, had a beneficial effect on green density enhancement and improving the homogeneous infiltration of the slurry into fiber fabrics. The density of the SiCfiber/SiCfiller green body was 2.20 g/cm3, which corresponded to 68 % of relative density. The SiCf/SiC composite has a high density of 2.65 g/cm3 after seven PIP cycles. 相似文献

This paper describes and discusses the application of the original sintering process named cold sintering to the electrolyte material BaCe0.8Zr0.1Y0.1O3-δ to enhance its densification at a temperature below that needed in a conventional sintering. This new technique enables the acceleration of the densification resulting in a more compacted microstructure with an unexpected high relative density of 83 % at only 180 °C. A subsequent annealing at 1200 °C further enhances the densification which reaches 94 %. The electrochemical performance of CSP sintered ceramics was investigated and optimized by varying different process parameters. The comparison with the conventional sintered material reveals an increase of the total conductivity by mostly increasing the grain boundary one. This result emphasizes the benefits of CSP to not only reduce the sintering temperature but also to enhance the electrochemical properties. 相似文献

Since smokers are becoming younger and younger, it is necessary to curb the tobacco epidemic at a younger age to prevent the devastating damage caused by tobacco products to future generations. This study focuses on the color schemes of cigarette packaging. It aims to find out color schemes of teenage consumers' disgust and apply them to cigarette packaging, which ultimately reduces the desire of purchasing and the smoking rate of young people. First, there were two ways to acquire color schemes. One was to extract the color schemes that can make teenagers disgust and keep them away from cigarette by association of psychological adjectives. The other way was to match achromatic colors with the chromatic colors that teenagers dislike in the questionnaire of 126 colors. Finally, eye movement experiment was used to verify the acquired color schemes meet the expected objectives of this study. According to the circular economy principles, processing routes aiming at reducing the natural resources consumption and the energy demand can be addressed as ‘green’. In this framework, mussel shells, a natural feedstock of calcium carbonate, were successfully transformed into nano-crystalline hydroxyapatite by mechanochemical synthesis at room temperature after mixing with a phosphoric acid solution. The as-synthesized powder was then consolidated up to 82 % relative density by cold sintering (600 MPa, 200 °C). The materials were fully investigated by physical, chemical and thermal characterization techniques. Cold-sintered samples were also subjected to biaxial flexural strength test, showing a flexural resistance of 23 MPa. Cell viability assessment revealed that cold sintered hydroxyapatite derived from mussel shells promotes faster adhesion and spreading of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells, in comparison to a commercial hydroxyapatite sintered at 1050 °C. Therefore, cold-sintered mussel shells-derived hydroxyapatite can be a promising future candidate scaffold for bone tissue regeneration. 相似文献
