This paper presents the results of urease immobilization onto methacrylic acid–acrylamide grafted poly(ethyleneterephthalate) fibres. The graft yield strongly affected the maximum activity of the immobilized enzyme up to a value of 70·2%. Higher grafting caused a decline in urease activity and led to the degradation of the fibres. The minor changes observed in Km and Vmax demonstrated that the conformational changes existed during immobilization were not extensive. However, 70·2% methacrylic acid–acrylamide-g-fibres containing urease were more stable towards acidic and alkaline pH, high temperature and storage conditions compared with free enzyme. Apart from the increase in stability to heat inactivation, the initial enzymatic activity of the urease–fibre system remained almost unchanged even after 40 repeated assays corresponding to 10 h of operation in 4 months, indicating the excellent durability of the system.  相似文献

Hydrogen peroxide is a potent, relatively inexpensive oxidant that chemically degrades chromophoric components in pulps and textiles. Oxidation of cellulose is a byproduct of this process step that decreases the tensile strength of individual fibres. The residence time of pulp in the bleaching reactor must be optimized to achieve the desired brightness and minimizing fibre degradation. To evaluate the impact of peroxide bleaching at the microfibrillar level, a single black spruce tree was chosen and kraft pulped. Peroxide bleaching was conducted via benchtop polyethylene bag bleaching in a temperature-controlled waterbath. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) topographical images acquired before and after the bleaching step show dramatic changes in fibre structure consistent with delignification and defects in the surface topography. This was further verified by X-ray work at Brookhaven National Laboratory, NY, U.S.A.  相似文献

In this work a treatment for surface preparation to improve mechanical resistance in adhesive bonding of plastic composites reinforced with fibres and metallic material, has been performed using an excimer laser. The following couplings have been selected to reproduce joints commonly used in the aerospace and automotive industry: CFC (carbon fibre composite) with CFC, CFC with Al 2024T3, Al 99% with Al 99%, GFC (glass fibre composite) with zinc-coated sheet in low carbon steel FeP01. The surfaces have been prepared using an excimer laser, adopting several values of laser parameters. The obtained surfaces have been examined by optical and scanning electron microscope: comparative measures of wetting and roughness have been performed to obtain an accurate characterisation and to select the proper finishes suitable to improve the mechanical resistance of the joints. The results obtained show that laser treatment always improves the final resistance of the joint; notable increases, and no significant surface damages have been highlighted. Better results have been obtained with the Al 99% with Al 99% joints which, with a low number of pulses treatment, have shown an increase of mechanical resistance up to the 70%.  相似文献

The effects of suspended fibre on macroscale and microscale mixing in a small stirred tank reactor were studied under batch conditions using the competitive, consecutive azo coupling between 1-naphthol and diazotized sulfanilic acid. The mixing quality was determined from the distribution between the mono and bis substituted reaction products. Nylon (2 and 3 millimeters in length) and fully bleached softwood kraft pulp (FBK) fibre suspensions were examined at volumetric concentrations up to the limit that complete suspension motion could be maintained in the vessel at impellet rotational speeds of 7 and 10s-1. The adsorption of the product dyes on the fibre was found to be proportional or very nearly proportional to their concentrations in the aqueous phase and did not interfere with the assessment of mixing in the suspension.

Suspended fibres were found to slightly increase the 'critical feed time' of the diazotized sulfanilic acid, corresponding to an increase in the macromixing or bulk blend lime of the vessel. Continued increase in the fibre concentration led to the formation of a well mixed cavern centered on the impeller and the creation of stagnant regions adjacent to the vessel walls. The departure from the Newtonian fibre-free case is due to changes in the flow through and distribution of the energy dissipative regions in the vessel. The most effective location for chemical addition to ensure good microscale mixing remains in the impeller vicinity.  相似文献

The electrochemical insertion of sodium ions into different types of hard carbons was achieved in electrolytes composed of ethylene carbonate as the solvent and NaClO4 as the salt. For all the materials studied the sodium uptake increases when the carbon highest heat treatment temperature (HTT) decreases. PAN-based carbon fibres appear to be suitable structures to allow significant sodium insertion. Thus, T650 ex-PAN fibres lead to a reversible capacity close to 209 mAh g−1. In that case, sodium insertion occurs in two main ways: one is the adsorption on the single graphene layers and the other is the concomitant insertion into the porosity that occurs below 0.1 V versus Na+/Na. This second mechanism, which is indicated by a low-voltage plateau on the electrochemical curves, allows significant insertion. The compared electrochemical study of two saccharose-coke samples corresponding to different regions of Dahn's classification underlines the importance of the carbon precursor and of the manufacture process. The reversible capacity is equal to 184 mAh g−1 for the sample heat treated at 800 °C which presents a high hydrogen content whereas it is close to 145 mAh g−1 for the one characterized by a HTT of about 1500 °C and a low hydrogen content. The best electrochemical performances are obtained for pyrolyzed cellulose carbons. Indeed, the reversible capacity is about 279 mAh g−1. Outgassing these carbons at 950 °C results in such a decrease of the reversible capacity down to 145 mAh g−1. That can be related either to the thermal elimination of heteroelements or to modifications of the pore size distribution. Consequently, the most suitable hard carbon material for anodic applications in rechargeable sodium-ion batteries should both present a high residual hydrogen content and a significant microporosity.  相似文献

Multi-Agent Systems (MASs) have long been modeled through knowledge and social commitments independently. In this paper, we present a new method that merges the two concepts to model and verify MASs in the presence of uncertainty. To express knowledge and social commitments simultaneously in uncertain settings, we define a new multi-modal logic called Probabilistic Computation Tree Logic of Knowledge and Commitments (PCTLkc in short) which combines two existing probabilistic logics namely, probabilistic logic of knowledge PCTLK and probabilistic logic of commitments PCTLC. To model stochastic MASs, we present a new version of interpreted systems that captures the probabilistic behavior and accounts for the communication between interacting components. Then, we introduce a new probabilistic model checking procedure to check the compliance of target systems against some desirable properties written in PCTLkc and report the obtained verification results. Our proposed model checking technique is reduction-based and consists in transforming the problem of model checking PCTLkc into the problem of model checking a well established logic, namely PCTL. So doing provides us with the privilege of re-using the PRISM model checker to implement the proposed model checking approach. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach by presenting a real case study. This framework can be considered as a step forward towards closing the gap of capturing interactions between knowledge and social commitments in stochastic agent-based systems.  相似文献

The competitive, consecutive chemical reactions between 1-naphthol and diazotized sulfanilic acid were utilized to study the mixing of a pulp fibre suspension in a 22 L stirred tank reactor. Mixing quality was determined from the distribution between the mono and bis substituted reaction products once a correlation was made for the adsorption of the product dyes onto the suspended fibres. The technique was found to be adequate for assessing micromixing and turbulence intensity within a fibre suspension provided the measured product distribution, Xs, was between 0.4 and 0.01. Thus the mixing conditions that could be assessed depended on both the energy dissipation within the mixer and the amount of the fibre present. For the experimental conditions chosen for this study energy dissipation rates would typically have to be less than 80 W/kg and the suspension mass concentration less than 2.5%. When compared with water, a reduction in turbulence levels at both the impeller zone and a remote zone in the stirred vessel was observed for fibre mass concentrations as low as 0.5%. The turbulence decreased as the suspension mass concentration was increased. This decrease is attributed to energy dissipation by friction at fibre-fibre contact points as the fibres move relative to one another in the flow. This sink removes energy from the turbulence cascade which never shows up as small-scale fluid deformations leading to better mixing.  相似文献
