Phase behavior of the base-catalyzed transesterification of soybean oil   总被引:1,自引:3,他引:1  
Biodiesel is made by the transesterification of vegetable oils to form alkyl FA esters. High levels of conversion (>99%) are required to lower the total concentration of free and chemically bound glycerol to that allowed by the ASTM standard (0.240 wt%) for biodiesel. A polar dye was used to visualize the phase behaviors in methanolysis, ethanolysis, and butanolysis. The dye was more strongly colored in more polar phases. Methanolysis and ethanolysis reactions commenced as two phases (alcohol and oil), then formed emulsions, and ended as two phases as glycerol-rich phases separated. Ethanolysis was more easily initiated by mixing than was methanolysis. Ethanolysis also exhibited a much longer emulsion period and slower glycerol separation. The glycerol-rich phase was smaller in volume in ethanolysis than in methanolysis. Butanolysis remained one phase throughout, and no polar phase existed at any time. The results are consistent with the known phase compositions in these reactions. The concentrations of MG, DG, and TG in the products with time in stirred reactions were consistent with the observed phase behavior in the dye experiments.  相似文献

Regioisomerically pure 1(3)-rac-monoacylglycerols are conveniently prepared in high yields (>75%) and in multigram quantities by enzymatic esterification of glycerol in the presence of various lipases(Chromobacterium viscosum, Rhizopus delemar, Rhizomucor miehei) with a variety of different acyl donors, such as free fatty acids, fatty acid alkyl esters, vinyl esters and triacylglycerols, as well as natural fats and oils. All reactions are carried out in aprotic organic solvents with low water content, namelyn-hexane, diethyl ether, tBuOMe or mixtures of these solvents. Essential for the success of these transformations were the following two factors. First, the creation of an artificial interphase between the solvent-immiscible hydrophilic glycerol and the hydrophobic reaction medium by its adsorption onto a solid support. Second, a facile system for the separation of the desired monoacylglycerol from the reaction mixture, coupled with the continuous recycling of acyl donor and undesirable by-products.  相似文献

Interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) of glycerol modified castor oil polyurethane (GC‐PU) and poly(2‐ethoxyethyl methacrylate) poly(2‐EOEMA) were synthesized using benzoyl peroxide as initiator and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDM) as crosslinker. GC‐PU/poly (2‐EOEMA) interpenetrating polymer networks were obtained by transfer molding. The novel GC‐PU/poly (2‐EOEMA) IPNs are found to be tough films. These IPNs are characterized in terms of their resistance to chemical reagents thermal behavior (DSC, TGA) and mechanical behavior, including tensile strength, Young's modulus, shore A hardness, and elongation. Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and poly(ethylene terephthalate) was simultaneously synthesized by the transesterification of ethylene carbonate (EC) with dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) in this paper. This reaction is an excellent green chemical process without poisonous substance. Various alkali metals were used as the catalysts. The results showed alkali metals had catalytic activity in a certain extent. The effect of reaction condition was also studied. When the reaction was carded out under the following conditions: the reaction temperature 250℃, molar ratio of EC to DMT 3 : 1, reaction time 3h, and catalyst amount 0.004 (molar ratio to DMT), the yield of DMC was 68.9%.  相似文献

High-performance size-exclusion chromatography (HPSEC) was used to evaluate the influence of different variables affecting the transesterification of rapeseed oil (RSO) with anhydrous ethanol and sodium ethoxide as catalyst. The effect of temperature, ethanol/RSO molar ratio, catalyst concentration, and time can be interpreted by observing the variations of the reaction medium composition. HPSEC has made the quantitation of ethyl esters, mono-, di-, and triglycerides and glycerol possible. The best results for laboratory-scale reactions were obtained at 80°C with a 6:1 molar ratio of EtOH/RSO and 1% of NaOEt by weight of RSO.  相似文献

Pseudomonas sp. lipase PS was immobilized by adsorption and tested for its ability to catalyze the synthesis of citronellyl butyrate and geranyl caproate by transesterification in n-hexane. The reaction parameters investigated were: enzyme load, effect of substrate concentration, added water, temperature, time course, organic solvent, pH memory, and enzyme reuse. Yields as high as 96 and 99% were obtained for citronellyl butyrate and geranyl caproate, respectively, with 300 units (approx. 15% w/w of reactants) of lipase PS. Increasing amounts of terpene alcohol inhibited lipase activity, while excess acyl donor (triacylglycerol) concentration enhanced ester production. Optimal yields were obtained at temperatures from 30–50°C after 24-h incubation time. Yields of 90 and 99% were obtained for citronellyl and geranyl esters, respectively, with 2% added water. Solvents with log P values ≥ 2.5 showed the highest conversion yields. pH 7 and 6–8 seemed to be ideal for citronellyl butyrate and geraniol caproate, respectively. 通过单因素实验考察了脂肪酶、乳化剂、反应温度、pH值、反应时间、酶添加量及摇床转速等影响鸡脂脂肪酶水解的因素.采用响应面分析法对反应温度、酶添加量、pH值和反应时间等工艺参数进行了优化研究.结果表明,二次多项式模型符合实验数据.反应获得较优酸值时反应参数条件为:温度46.6℃,加酶量0.5%,pH值6.4,反应时间4.33 h.  相似文献
