Abstract

In this study, capillary alginate gel (Capgel?), a collagen and alginate based self-assembling biomaterial, was used as a cellular scaffold for the treatment of ischemic, full-thickness dermal wounds in mice. Capgel? was synthesized using copper sulfate to form the initial sol before rinsing and stabilizing the patent capillary structures with carbodiimide chemistry. This crosslinked hydrogel was then injected into ischemic, full-thickness dermal wounds and analyzed via histology after 7 and 10 days to assess wound contracture, granulation bed tissue and vascular structures. Capgel? showed good resorbability and was well-invested with infiltrating host cells and vascular structures during and after resorption.  相似文献

Here we report a comparative study of the healing kinetics of surgically created artificial defects in the tibia of New Zealand white rabbits. Comparison of the healing kinetics was made for uncoated conventional SS316L intramedullary pins, and the same pins with microplasma sprayed (MIPS) pure hydroxyapatite (HAp) and beta-tri calcium phosphate (β-TCP) coatings. After thorough material characterizations including XRD, FTIR, SEM, etc., MIPS coated pins were implanted to such animals. Serum biochemistry, radiology and fluorochrome labelling were used to evaluate the comparative healing kinetics of these implants in vivo. In comparison to those of the uncoated pins, the pins coated with both MIPS HAp and β-TCP showed significant increment of alkaline phosphatase up to 15th postoperative day, insignificant changes in serum phosphorus and calcium with uneventful healing of bone defect. There was development of Havarsian canals and well-defined peripherally placed osteoblasts along with evidence of angiogenesis and comparatively more new bone formation in the defect site. On a comparative scale, the performance of the β-TCP coated intramedullary pins was much better than that of the pure HAp coated pins than the uncoated intramedullary pins.  相似文献

本工作通过引入ZnO制得了一种对人体代谢机能有促进作用的ZnO-MgO-CaO-B_2O_3-SiO_2-P_2O_5系统新型的生物活性微晶玻璃人工骨材料,并对玻璃的组成范围与熔制条件,晶化特性与热处理工艺制度、晶相以及ZnO含量对材料性能的影响、材料的生物相容性和生物活性等方面进行了较系统的研究。结果表明:该材料以氧磷灰石和β-硅灰石为主晶相;具有较高的力学强度(抗折强度170Mpa、抗压强度500Mpa)和良好的化学稳定性,在模拟生理体液中,可有控制地释出促进人体伤口愈合的Zn~(2+)离子。动物实验证明该材料具有良好的生物相容性和生物活性,有着良好的应用前景。  相似文献

The interaction of living cells with surfaces is important in applications of biomaterials, such as tissue engineering. Characterising and modelling the attachment, migration and proliferation of cells on materials used for tissue engineering provides valuable insight into their potential applications as well as a means of objective comparison. In this study, proliferation and migration of NIH-3T3 fibroblast cells on tissue culture plastic in vitro were quantified. The development of randomly scattered individual cells into confluent cell monolayers proceeded with cell density following a logistic growth pattern. Travelling cell wavefronts produced in a wound healing assay were modelled with a modified Fisher equation incorporating both diffusion and logistic growth. The diffusivity and growth rates thus determined could be used for comparison with cell behaviour on other surfaces or under different conditions. Cell tracking showed that the average effective velocity of cells varied inversely with cell density, supporting contact inhibition of cell movement.  相似文献

Their advice is sound and their suggestions for recovery quite practical and valuable to any woman struggling to come to terms with her partner's affair. The authors provide some helpful information to the woman contending with this problem and hoping to continue in the marriage. It is likely to appeal most to the woman reluctant to enter individual or couple therapy with her husband, yet needing some help in coping with the intense emotions at this confusing time; it can help her in deciding whether to leave or stay in the marriage. Reviews the book, Psychoanalysis at the margins by Paul E. Stepansky (see record 2009-22624-000). For more than two decades, there have been conferences and publications about psychoanalysis’ being in a crisis. None of these calls has led to a radical reorganization or reorientation of psychoanalysis. The result has been that psychoanalysis has become marginal: if in the 1960s a large percentage of professorships in psychiatry were held by psychoanalysts, now there are practically none. There are hardly any graduate programs in clinical psychology that are psychoanalytically oriented, and there are very few professorships in psychology that are in the hands of psychoanalysts. And while there are still many psychoanalytic institutes that succeed in attracting candidates, there are almost no patients left that come for classical psychoanalysis.
