Rapid analysis of polymer homologues and additives with SFE/SFC-MS coupling

A rapid and easy analysis method for polymers is presented. The method involves sample preparation by SFE, separation of the extracted compounds by SFC and simultaneous quantitative detection by FID, as well as identification of unknowns by MS. The applications illustrate how structural research work and routine polymer analysis can be done with this time saving method.     

Volatile constituents of palm wine and palm sap

Palm wine and pasteurised palm sap volatiles were collected, concentrated on a Tenax GC and analysed by gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Eighty-two components were identified: 47 esters, 9 alcohols, 5 acids, 6 carbonyls, 2 acetals, 4 terpenes and 9 hydrocarbons. These had all been found previously in conventional wines. Odour evaluation of the separated palm wine components as they eluted suggested that no one compound is responsible for the characteristic palm wine odour. The acetates of higher alcohols and the ethyl esters of straight-chain aliphatic C₆-C₁₀ acids seemed to be important and may play a big role in imparting the fruity nuances of characteristic palm wine odour. Their association with alcohols seemed also to be necessary for the expression of typical palm wine odour. The qualitative difference between palm sap aroma and palm wine aroma appeared to be due mainly to the presence of these esters and alcohols in palm wine and their apparent absence from palm sap, as well as to the presence of some low-boiling esters and alcohols in palm sap and their apparent absence from palm wine.     

苯和甲苯差分吸收光谱方法的实验室测量研究

本文介绍了差分光学吸收光谱法(DOAS)测量大气污染气体浓度的基本原理。DOAS方法就是利用氙灯发出的紫外—可见光，经望远镜准直后再经过一段距离的传输，由望远镜来接收．在传输中，由于各种不同的分子在不同的波段对光有不同的吸收特征，使光谱具有了污染物的特征，再通过与光源发出的光进行比较，反演这些气体在大气中浓度．我们将DOAS方法应用在监测有机物上，在分析光谱的过程中，应用多项式拟合和最小二乘法，从而精确地从测量光谱中来反演出大气中污染气体的浓度．文中用DOAS方法测量了苯和甲苯的样品，并分析了结果，结果和理论吻合．可为环境中有机污染物监测提供可靠的方法。     

Reactor modelling for electrochemical processes

This paper presents a relatively straightforward approach to the modelling of electrochemical reactors operated in batch or continuous modes. The models are based on ideal flow assumptions of either well-mixed or plug flow and incorporate reaction rate models based on electrochemical kinetics and mass transport at one electrode. General characteristics of the reactor models are described, particularly with regard to the need for good mass transport in metal recovery applications. An example is given on the use of the model in the recovery of a heavy metal (Cd²⁺) from an acidified solution containing Cd(II) and Fe(III) ions. The reaction rate model is based on experimental data.     

Dynamic response of a Mindlin elastic rectangular plate under a distributed moving mass

The elastodynamic response of a rectangular Mindlin plate subjected to a distributed moving mass is investigated. The set of governing characteristic partial differential equations that include the effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia is expressed in its dimensionless form. A finite difference algorithm is employed to transform the differential equations into a set of linear algebraic equations. Simply supported edge conditions were used as an illustrative example. The analysis is also valid for other edge conditions. It is found that the maximum shearing forces, bending and twisting moments occur almost the same time. Also, the values of the maximum deflections are higher for Mindlin plates than for non-Mindlin plates.     

NUMERICAL STUDY ON SORET-EFFECT AND DUFOUR-EFFECT FOR DOUBLE-DIFFUSIVE NATURAL CONVECTION IN POROUS ENCLOSURE

The influences of Soret effect and Dufour effect on the natural convection and heat and mass transfer for a porous enclosure were investigated by means of the penalty finite element method. Numerical results indicate that the Soret and Dufour effects have significant influences on heat and mass transfer in the presence of large temperature gradient and concentration gradient.     

鹰嘴岩隧道软弱破碎岩体的开挖与施工

渫水皂市水利枢纽左岸上坝公路鹰嘴岩隧道围岩主要为Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ、Ⅴ类围岩，地质条件复杂，成洞条件差。在隧道施工中，遵循“短进尺，弱爆破、少扰动、早支护”的原则，及时进行监控量测，采取有效的加固措施，取得了良好效果，确保了工程进度与安全。     

岩性圈闭储层描述技术及应用

本文以高分辨率地震资料为基础，应用测井、钻井等资料，从沉积微相分析入手，建立了以河道砂体、河口坝砂体为主的地质及地震响应模型，并根据地震反射波组特征、地震反演的阻抗值及其他地震属性参数，确定了研究区的砂体变化及其分布规律，总结出一套针对薄互层特点的岩性圈闭识别技术。本文方法在大庆长垣以西古龙和他拉哈西地区的实际应用中取得了明显的效果。     

A Simple Experimental Technique to Measure Tortuosity in Packed Beds

In this article, a simple and inexpensive experimental technique easy to build in laboratory, for the measurement of tortuosity of a packed bed of inert particles, is described. Experimental values of the tortuosity were obtained with four different packed beds of sand. The experimental results obtained are in good agreement with the theoretical values of tortuosity in a porous media; and the data reported showed the tortuosity to increase with decrease in the void fraction of the packed bed as expected.
