Electroporation creates aqueous pathways by short high-voltage pulses resulting in a transient perme- abilization of stratum corneum and an increase in the transdermal delivery rate.However the aqueous pathways will reseal after pulsing,which leads to the rapid drop of transdermal flux.In the present study,the surfactants were added to the donor solution to hinder the shrinkage and resealing of the electropore,and to prolong the lifetime of the aqueous pathways with the consideration that the surfactants could reduce the surface energy of the electropore. These effects of surfactants were demonstrated by the dynamic electrical resistance of the skin and the fluorescent imaging of the local transport regions.Piroxicam(PIX)was transported percutaneously in the presence of surfactants in vitro.Owing to the longer lifetime of aqueous pathways,together with the promotion of PIX availability at the barrier exterior and the improvement in the partition of PIX into the aqueous pathways,the presence of surfactants led to a remarkable increase in the transdermal delivery rate during electroporation and a significant growth of the accumulative transdermal amount of PIX. 相似文献

Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane electrodes to determine monomer concentrations of tetradecyltrimethylammonium ion (TTA+) and hexadecylpyridinium ion (HPy+) based on neutral ion-pair carrier complexes of tetradecyltrimethylammonium dodecyl sulfate (TTA+-DS−) and hexadecylpyridinium dodecyl sulfate (HPy+-DS−), respectively, are reported here. The electrodes exhibit a Nernstian slope of 59 mV per decade for TTA+ and a sub-Nernstian slope of 34.5 mV per decade for HPy+ ions. The TTA+ ion-selective electrode (ISE) and the HPy+-ISE can determine the monomer units down to concentrations as low as 4.0×10−4M and 1.66×10−5 M, respectively. The effect of various additives, such as the anionic polyelectrolyte sodium dextran sulfate and macrocyclic
β-cyclodextrin, on the surface activity exhibited by the cationic surfactants TTA+-DS− and HPy+-DS−, in the presence of background concentrations of NaCl was also examined with surfactant-selective sensors. The Gibbs free
energy of micelle formation (ΔG

) of both surfactants in the presence of various additives was calculated and found to be less favorable with respect to an
increase in the amount of additives due to less availability of cationic surfactant monomer units. The ion-pair complexes
TTA+-DS− and HPy+-DS− were found to behave as selective carrier compounds in PVC membranes in determining the concentration of monomer units of
both TTA+ and HPy+, respectively. The proposed sensors worked well at a fairly acidic pH of 1–6.5 with response time of 60 s. The sensors responded

The influence of various experimental parameters on the flux of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) through a collagen membrane has
been studied. The variables evaluated were donor concentration, time, temperature, pH and ionic strength. Data on the influence
of both surfactant concentration and time on surfactant diffusion through the collagen film allow one to postulate a diffusion
process mainly of the monomeric type. This diffusion mechanism based on surfactant monomers has been corroborated by studying
