Large Scale Ethylene Production Package Technology SuccessfullyDeveloped by CNPC

The CNPC Group has successfully developed a largescaleethylene production package technology with independentintellectual property rights, which has beensuccessfully applied in the 1.2 Mt/a ethylene revamp andexpansion project at the Daqing Petrochemical Complex（DPC）.

Mechanistic interpretation of electrochemical behaviour of galvannealing coating in saline environment

A comparative study on galvannealed (GA) and galvanised plain-skin passed (GP-SP) coatings was carried out to evaluate coating microstructures, the corrosion resistance and electrochemical behaviour in 3.5% NaCl solution. The corrosion resistance behaviour of GA coating was found to be superior compared to GP-SP coating. The Fe-Zn intermetallic phases formed in GA coating provided galvanic protection i.e., a cell reaction between Fe and Zn within a single phase. This gives rise to protective potential plateau and are believed to be responsible for the electrochemical polarisation resulting in sluggish corrosion reaction kinetics, thereby reducing the corrosion rate significantly after prolonged exposure in saline environment. It was also observed from the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) study that the coating capacitance (C_c) decreased and polarisation resistance (R_p) increased with exposure time indicating a continuous charge transfer reaction across the coating and electrolyte interface. Although the corrosion potential of both coatings increased towards more noble direction with exposure time, it was observed that the potential for GA coatings was always nobler than GP-SP coating as E_corr shifted towards more positive potential corresponding to a flat potential band of −850 ± 20 mV.

＂The Technology for Production of Bio-jet Fuel via Hydrogenation＂Passed Technical Appraisal of Sinopec Corporation

On November 27, 2014 the research project ＂Technologyfor production of bio-jet fuel via hydrogenation＂, whichwas jointly implemented by the Sinopec＇s RIPP, theSinopec＇s Zhenhai Refining ＆ Chemical Branch Company,the Hangzhou Petrochemical Company, Ltd., SEI,and the Economics ＆ Development Research Institute（EDRI） of SINOPEC Group, had passed the technicalappraisal organized by the Sinopec Science ＆ TechnicalDivision.     

利用饱碱电导表征掺矿物混合材混凝土的渗透性

混凝土掺矿物混合材后孔溶液电导变化较大,将试件抽真空后以1mol／L的KOH溶液饱和毛细孔隙（饱碱）,可减小孔溶液对混凝土电导的影响,使电参数真实反映孔结构和渗透性的变化。检测了掺加矿物质混合材后混凝土试件的饱碱电导和6h通电量。利用压汞法分析了相应净浆试件孔结构特征,并检测了氯池（6％NaCl溶液）浸泡300d后氯离子在净浆试件中的渗透情况。结果表明：基准试件的饱碱电导最大,掺10％硅灰的混凝土饱碱电导最小。     

脉冲电晕等离子体烟气脱硫工业试验研究

利用建造在四川绵阳科学城热电厂的最大烟气处理量为20 000 m3/h的脉冲电晕等离子体烟气脱硫工业中试装置,研究了影响脱硫效率的因素,获得了最佳工艺参数。究结果表明,当烟气温度在65～70℃,烟气水分含量约10％,氨硫化学剂量比为1∶1,烟停留时间大于6 s、能耗低于5 Wh/Nm+3等条件下,脱硫率达85％以上。     

Rail safety and rail privatisation in Britain

British Rail (BR), the former unified main line railway operator in Great Britain, was divided into about 100 separate organisations and privatised from April 1994. There was concern in the run-up to privatisation that the fragmentation of the system and the entry of new operators might compromise safety. This paper investigates what has happened to safety by analysing data on almost all fatal railway accidents, together with the most important non-fatal train accidents, from 1967 to 2003, with additional brief analyses back to 1946. BR had achieved downward trends in the mean numbers of accidents per train-kilometre for all the main classes of accident in the 27 years up to 1993, and the paper takes the extrapolation of these favourable trends as the yardstick by which to judge the safety performance of the privatised railway. The paper finds that the privatised railway had fewer accidents than this yardstick for all classes of accident. Only one indicator is adverse: the number of fatalities in train collisions and derailments is higher than expected, because of the severity of the accident at Ladbroke Grove in 1999. The principal conclusion is that there is no evidence that privatisation caused railway safety to deteriorate.
