Current-voltage characteristics from an asymptotic analysis of the MOSFET equations

Phenomenological formulae for the current-voltage characteristics of a MOSFET are derived by extending the asymptotic method of Ward. Practical methods for combining the perturbation approximations and numerically implementing the Ward equations are developed. A detailed comparison with real MOSFET data is presented and the model is shown to be effective over a range of device geometries.

Combining predictions in pairwise classification: An optimal adaptive voting strategy and its relation to weighted voting

Weighted voting is the commonly used strategy for combining predictions in pairwise classification. Even though it shows good classification performance in practice, it is often criticized for lacking a sound theoretical justification. In this paper, we study the problem of combining predictions within a formal framework of label ranking and, under some model assumptions, derive a generalized voting strategy in which predictions are properly adapted according to the strengths of the corresponding base classifiers. We call this strategy adaptive voting and show that it is optimal in the sense of yielding a MAP prediction of the class label of a test instance. Moreover, we offer a theoretical justification for weighted voting by showing that it yields a good approximation of the optimal adaptive voting prediction. This result is further corroborated by empirical evidence from experiments with real and synthetic data sets showing that, even though adaptive voting is sometimes able to achieve consistent improvements, weighted voting is in general quite competitive, all the more in cases where the aforementioned model assumptions underlying adaptive voting are not met. In this sense, weighted voting appears to be a more robust aggregation strategy.

Analysis of NHEJ-Based DNA Repair after CRISPR-Mediated DNA Cleavage

Genome editing using CRISPR-Cas9 nucleases is based on the repair of the DNA double-strand break (DSB). In eukaryotic cells, DSBs are rejoined through homology-directed repair (HDR), non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) or microhomology-mediated end joining (MMEJ) pathways. Among these, it is thought that the NHEJ pathway is dominant and occurs throughout a cell cycle. NHEJ-based DSB repair is known to be error-prone; however, there are few studies that delve into it deeply in endogenous genes. Here, we quantify the degree of NHEJ-based DSB repair accuracy (termed NHEJ accuracy) in human-originated cells by incorporating exogenous DNA oligonucleotides. Through an analysis of joined sequences between the exogenous DNA and the endogenous target after DSBs occur, we determined that the average value of NHEJ accuracy is approximately 75% in maximum in HEK 293T cells. In a deep analysis, we found that NHEJ accuracy is sequence-dependent and the value at the DSB end proximal to a protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) is relatively lower than that at the DSB end distal to the PAM. In addition, we observed a negative correlation between the insertion mutation ratio and the degree of NHEJ accuracy. Our findings would broaden the understanding of Cas9-mediated genome editing.

根据近１０年来参加国内尿素工程国际招标、评标、设计、建设的经验和调查研究结果，认为目前氨气提法和ＣＯ２气提法２种尿素工艺虽从技术、经济数据比较大体相当，但从实际结果看氨气提法有其独特之处，因此近１０多年来在全世界尤其在我国深受用户青睐。     

基于设备参数的雷达精度评定仿真

依脉冲雷达精度校飞试验的国军标GJB1381.2-92中的三大系统误差公式中变量与不变量的关系,借助噪声模型、运用随机数来模拟雷达精度校飞试验采集到的数据,然后按GJB1381.2-92中规定的数据处理方法用VC#.net 2005语言编程进行精度校飞的可视化仿真与数据处理,将仿真结果与实际精度校飞试验数据处理结果比对,进一步表明仿真校飞与实际校飞数据处理结果一致,符合了仿真的要求。     

Speed and accuracy of accessing information in working memory: An individual differences investigation of focus switching.

Three experiments examined the nature of individual differences in switching the focus of attention in working memory. Participants performed 3 versions of a continuous counting task that required successive updating and switching between counts. Across all 3 experiments, individual differences in working memory span and fluid intelligence were related to the accuracy of the counts, but not to the time cost associated with switching between counts. The authors suggest that working memory span and fluid intelligence measures partially index the ability to accurately switch information in and out of the focus of attention, but this variation is not related to the speed of switching.
