Experimental Design in the Preparation of Modified HEMA-Based Superporous Hydrogels in an Aqueous Medium

Due to a relatively large number of excipients and their concentrations, which can be used effectively in the preparation of superporous hydrogels, an experimental design based on the Taguchi matrix has proven to be a very valuable tool in screening and narrowing down the final formulation. In this study, the effect of starting materials, their concentrations as well as the starting reaction temperature, were examined in the preparation of superporous hydrogels based on hydroxyethyl methacrylate. A large number of possible formulations and conditions might lead to the production of a reasonable hydrogel network, but some formulations produce stronger or faster swelling superporous hydrogels than others. The final properties of the superporous hydrogels depend upon the events that occur during formation of the gel, including the presence of atmospheric oxygen, which is responsible for the inhibition period seen at the start of the reaction, and also including the change in temperature at which the reaction starts. These events can be largely affected by the choice of ingredients used in the reaction. For this study, eight variables were chosen, and their effects were examined using a Taguchi matrix. The parameters examined were the maximum temperature during the reaction, the time corresponding to the maximum temperature, and the reaction yield which is represented by the weight of the dry final SPH.     

Module-based similarity measurement for commercial aircraft tooling design

Similarity measurement (SM) between pairs of features plays an essential role in the tooling retrieval. However, the number of tooling is usually large and difficult to retrieve. What’s more, the most similar tooling model is not always optimal in the case-based reasoning (CBR). To refine this situation, we propose a novel module-based similarity measurement method. Through dividing each tooling model into different modules, a new similarity is obtained by integrating all the most similar modules (MSMs) from existing tooling models. As a result, the new similarity is superior or at least equal to the result which is derived from previous methods. With the proposed method in this paper, feature similarities of modules between a new tooling ontology and each similar tooling ontology are calculated by fuzzy similarity measurement, and the MSMs are restructured to form a new tooling model after conflict resolution. A case study on forming mould is provided to illustrate the applications and prove the higher similarity by comparing with CBR. The proposed method has been adopted in an aircraft manufacturing company.     

高速动车换气口流动阻力实验台设计

探讨了高速动车换气口流动阻力实验台相关问题,根据流体力学相关原理,提出用低速风洞模拟列车外界风速场,换气口试件置于风洞试验段中,将列车外界风速、流经换气口的风量模拟量都设计成可调控的实验参数,搭建了用于换气口流动阻力及其影响因素的实验平台。实验实例表明,本文方法建立的高速动车换气口流动阻力实验台方案是可行的,测量结果是可信的。     

All orthogonal arrays with 18 runs

All combinatorially inequivalent orthogonal arrays with 18 runs and eight or less factors are generated. Their potential as practical experimental designs is evaluated by a classification using generalized word‐length patterns of the original arrays and those of their projections into less factors. Arrays of special interest are given explicitly. This paper includes the statistical analysis of results from a real‐life experiment based on one of the arrays. 急冷器操作参数的相似设计计算

根据流动的相似准则建立了实验模型，推导出了实验所需操作参数的计算公式，并计算得出了实验模型的关键尺寸、实验条件下所需的流速、流量及压力等操作参数。     

Work–family conflict in work groups: Social information processing, support, and demographic dissimilarity.

We used social information processing theory to examine the effect of work–family conflict (WFC) at the work group level on individuals’ experience of WFC. Consistent with hypotheses, results suggest that WFC at the work group level influences individual WFC over and above the shared work environment and job demands. It was also observed that work group support and demographic dissimilarity moderate this relationship. Moderator analyses suggest that work group social support buffers WFC for individuals but is also associated with a stronger effect of work group WFC on individuals’ WFC. Moreover, the work group effect on individuals’ WFC was shown to be stronger for individuals who were demographically dissimilar to the work group in terms of sex and number of dependents.
