Sediment chemistry and nutrient influx in a hydrologically restored bottomland hardwood forest in Midwestern USA

Exchanges of total N and C between a river and its floodplain forest have been enhanced by sedimentation processes during flood pulses at a 5‐ha bottomland hardwood forest located at the Olentangy River Wetland Research Park in central Ohio. In the spring of 2000, the forest was hydrologically restored by notching an artificial levee that had separated the Olentangy River and its floodplain forest for 100 years. One‐hundred flat sediment traps (30 cm × 30 cm) were used to collect sediment samples during spring/summer flooding events from 2003 to 2005. Results showed that sediment deposition is determined by the landscape variability during flooding events, Net sediment deposit in the wettest area averaged 134 ± 12 g‐dry wt m^?2 in 2003, 127 ± 17 g‐dry wt m^?2 in 2004 and 149 ± 23 g‐dry wt m^?2 in 2005. Total N and C sedimentation ranged from 0.49 to 0.92 g‐N m^?2 and 5.2 to 19.9 g‐C m^?2. Fe dominates the sediment chemistry and results show the elemental abundance in the order of Al > Fe > Ca > K > Mg > S > P > Na > Mn > Zn > B > Cu > Mo. A hydrologic pulsing index (HPI) could be used as an indicator for mass changes of energies with hydrologic pulsing events. Restoration of seasonally flooded bottomland forests could stimulate potentially large nutrient and Fe releases, which would eventually lead to an enhanced forest productivity and biodiversity. Intelligent handling of data by integration of commonsense reasoning

Any intelligent problem solving system should be able, given the known data on a case, to decide whether some item of information is true, false or unknown. In this paper the way in which various forms of commonsense reasoning can be integrated to provide such decisions is described. To this end three structural types of knowledge defined over data, and four strategies for exploiting these structures, are identified. ‘Decide-Status’ integrates the reasoning strategies into a task frame. This frame structure not only integrates the reasoning but also affords the appropriate facilities for providing strategic justifications for its conclusions, if required.

在计算机技术日益向农业生产管理领域渗透的大背景下,针对灌区管理的普遍需求和项目区实际特点建立了功能简捷适用、结构科学合理的灌区管理信息系统。系统的主要功能有:基本信息服务、实时监测与自动控制、需水预测、用水调度、图形报表、办公自动化管理、数据库管理、系统维护。结合系统在项目区的应用,证明了系统的开发建设是成功的,具有应用推广价值,也可以为同类系统的建设提供参考。     

Paper remote: an augmented television guide and remote control

The television (TV) is one of the most common entertainment devices in homes. Searching and finding TV programs is a common task and using TV guides is one way of performing this. This paper presents three studies that are focused on examining audiences’ TV habits and TV guide usage, evaluating a new concept based on linking paper and pen with TV technology, and studying the audiences’ attitudes toward and anticipated interest in the future guide. The results of our first study emphasize the value of using paper based TV guides and also identify the deficiencies. We also found indications that the advantages and disadvantages of paper-based TV guides are related to the physical properties of paper. Thus, we suggest a solution that uses digital pen and paper technology to offer a new interaction method for TV. A research system “Paper Remote”, is developed and used in the two subsequent studies. Viewers tick designated areas on the paper-based guide to perform actions such as channel switching. However, this solution is not a substitute for the remote control device. We argue that these user studies on linking digital paper to the TV for everyday information navigation illuminate the possibilities of providing innovative solutions also for home information systems also.

一种改进的共同进化遗传算法及其应用

将共同进化遗传算法应用于临床营养决策优化中,虽然取得了一定成果,但算法中仍存在早熟现象、局部搜索能量弱等问题,为此提出一种改进的共同进化模型。算法使用新的子群体划分方法和交叉算子,引入精英保留策略、信息交换原则和小生境技术。通过对糖尿病营养治疗的仿真表明,改进后的算法在保证群体多样性和避免早熟现象的前提下,提高了算法的局部和全局寻优能力,且膳食配方中营养素达标率符合要求,满足专家建议的糖尿病饮食需求。     

铜杆信息采集系统的研究

阐述了铜杆生产过程中信息采集系统的主要研究内容；概括了硬件的结构和选用的主要设备；阐述了上位机软件的主要模块及实现方法；系统采用面向对象的编程方法，界面友好，操作简单，功能完善；实际运行效果良好，具有较好的应用前景。

近来，诸如图形图像、音频视频等复杂类型信息的分析和处理，已日益受到各学科领域专家和学者的重视，文章首先介绍了复杂信息处理中因果关联模型的构建，然后给出了主因分析方法的构造和实现过程，并提出了具体的算法和实例检验。     

建立福州市、县级行政区域界线信息管理系统的探讨

结合福州市行政区域界线勘查工作已结束的实际和社会信息化发展的趋势，提出建立该市市、县级行政区域界线信息管理系统的重要性，对该系统的基本框架、实施方案、建立步骤及与“数字福建”接轨等问题进行了初步讨论，提出了建议。
