Investigation on vapor-cooled current leads operating in a pulse mode

This paper describes transient numerical modeling for thermal characteristic of vapor-cooled current leads under pulse operation. The transient thermal analysis considers the temperature difference between a helium gas flow and a copper lead with temperature dependent properties of helium gas, copper and stainless steel. The numerical analysis was validated by an experiment with commercially available 100 A vapor-cooled current leads. A proper overloading factor calculation and the effect of intermediate cooling are presented for the current leads under pulse operation, which can significantly reduce heat input to a cryostat.

根据高炉风机配置的具体情况 ,为充分发挥大风机生产优势 ,建立了适宜的送风制度及装料制度 ,对利旧风机采取了自动防喘振控制、高压水阻软启动的措施 ,风机仪表采用集散控制 ,并优化上料系统 ,提高了高炉上料能力。一系列优化方案保证了高炉稳定、安全、顺行 ,1号、2号高炉利用系数分别由 3 .3 64、3 .43 2t/m3.d提高到 3 .917和 3 .767t/m3.d。     

Serial deployment of attention during visual search.

This study examined whether objects are attended in serial or in parallel during a demanding visual search task. A component of the event-related potential waveform, the N2pc wave, was used as a continuous measure of the allocation of attention to possible targets in the search arrays. Experiment 1 demonstrated that the relative allocation of attention shifts rapidly, favoring one item and then another. In Experiment 2, a paradigm was used that made it possible to track the absolute allocation of attention to individual items. This experiment showed that attention was allocated to one object for 100-150 ms before attention began to be allocated to the next object. Spectral multidomain approximation of elliptic problems with mixed conditions on the interfaces

The multidomain technique for elliptic problems, that allows the fulfillment of the interface conditions by means of a suitable combination of the continuity of the solution and of its normal derivative, is considered. Some choices of this combination are investigated and, in particular, a choice that allows the solution of the multidomain problem through two solutions for each subproblem, is proposed. The scheme has been discretized with a collocation method and some numerical tests are reported. Moreover the method is compared with the more classical Dirichlet/Neumann one as well as with the capacitance matrix method.This research has been supported by a grant from M.P.I. (40%).
