Model paint materials were generated by adding a range of inorganic materials into an epoxy. The inorganic materials included inhibitors (Zn3(PO4)2 and SrCrO4) and a filler (rutile TiO2).The SrCrO4 system was characterized using SEM, TEM, PALS and Raman spectroscopy and found to have an even distribution of inhibitor in the polymer matrix. X-ray tomography was performed on the mixed SrCrO4/TiO2 and Zn3(PO4)2/TiO2 systems. A new technique called data constrained modelling was combined with the tomographic technique to produce a 3D distribution of the inorganic phases within the polymer matrix. 相似文献

Scratch tests were performed on epoxy coated steel samples with and without microcapsulated linseed oil, known to develop a polymerized protective layer after having been released from the capsules at the damaged sites. The scanning electrochemical microscope has been applied to monitor the protection efficiency of this self-healing coating in aqueous acidic solution. In the proximity of the local damage, both the anodic metal dissolution and the cathodic oxygen reduction showed that the coating with microcapsules substantially and spontaneously decreased the rate of corrosion proving the self-repair concept of the coating. AbstractThis study evaluated the effect of self-etching ceramic primer (SECP) on shear bond strength (SBS) of zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) ceramics. Two hundred and seventy block-specimens of two types of ZLS ceramics and one type of lithium disilicate (LS) ceramics were prepared. Ninety blocks of each material were divided into three groups (n?=?30), namely group 1: no surface treatment (control), group 2: hydrofluoric acid (HF), silane-based primer (S), and group 3: SECP. Resin cement was applied, and light-cured for build-up. Shear bond strength (SBS) test was used. Half of the bonded specimens (n?=?15) were tested after storage in distilled water for 24?h, whereas the other half were tested after 5000 thermo-cycles. The failure modes were evaluated using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The SBS values for samples treated with SECP and HF?+?S within the respective materials were statistically comparable (p?>?0.05). Thermocycling significantly reduced the SBS (p?<?0.05) for all ceramic materials in groups 2 and 3. Mixed failure followed by adhesive failure were the most common failure modes in groups 2 and 3, whereas pretest failure was only detected in group 1. Considering the limitations of the study, with respect to in vitro bond strength, the SECP is an alternative for the conditioning of internal surface of glass ceramics. 相似文献

For rapid identification of Candida to the species level, degenerated primers and specific primers based on the genomic sequences of DNA topoisomerase II of C. albicans, C. dubliniensis, C. tropicalis (genotypes I and II), C. parapsilosis (genotypes I and II), C. krusei, C. kefyr, C. guilliermondii, C. glabrata, C. lusitaniae and Y. lipolytica were designed and their specificities tested in PCR-based identifications. Each of the specific primers selectively and exclusively amplified its own DNA fragment, not only from the corresponding genomic DNA of the Candida sp. but also from DNA mixtures containing other DNAs from several fungal species. For a simpler PCR-based identification, the specific primers were divided into three groups (PsI, PsII and PsIII), each of which contained four specific primer pairs. PCR with the primer mixes yielded four different sizes of PCR product, corresponding to each Candida sp. in the sample DNA. To obtain higher sensitivity of PCR amplification, sample DNAs were preamplified by the degenerated primer pair (CDF28/CDR148), followed by the main amplification using the primer mixes. By including this nested PCR step, 40 fg yeast genomic DNA was detected in the sample. Furthermore, we applied this nested PCR to a clinical diagnosis, using splenic tissues from experimentally infected mice and several clinical materials from patients. In all cases, the nested PCR amplifications detected proper DNA fragments of Candida spp., which were also identified by the standard identification tests. These results suggest that nested PCR, using primer mixes of the Candida DNA topoisomerase II genes, is simple and feasible for the rapid detection/identification of Candida to species level in clinical materials. 相似文献

The identification of species origin of meat represents a considerable problem for food and animal feed analysis. In the present study a PCR‐mediated method for the detection of dog and cat meat was developed. For this the cytochrome b gene sequence of both species was analyzed by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis. The use of the restriction enzymes Alu I and Hae III yielded specific restriction profiles characteristic for each species. The meat of both species could additionally be differentiated with species‐specific oligonucleotide primers based on specific parts of the cytochrome b gene sequences characteristic for dog and cat. The use of these oligonucleotide primers allowed a direct identification of dog and cat meat in meat mixtures even after heat treatment. 相似文献
