An investigation of the structure formation of as-cast Al-11 wt% Si (AlSi11) and Al-11 wt% Si-2 wt% Fe (AlSi11Fe2) rapidly solidified (RS) ribbons is performed. Ribbon samples are examined in detail using Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A nanoscale thickness layer of Si-precipitations, at both Al-grains boundary and oxide/Al-matrix interface, is found to be characteristic for “pure” AlSi11 ribbons. For Fe-doped ribbons, this layer comprises Fe-containing phase also, which appears to possess amorphous nature and is situated between the Si-grains and Al-matrix. A possible mechanism of altering the thermally activated volume diffusion of elements, due to the effect of Fe on the structure modification, is speculated based on the obtained results.  相似文献

TiC/Al composite was successfully synthesized utilizing laser ignited self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) of Al-C-Ti system with the different C/Ti molar ratio. When the molar ratio of C to Ti is below 1:1 in the starting materials, in addition to fine TiC particulates, a large amount of Al3Ti phase was found in the composites; however, when the molar ratio of C to Ti is 1:1 in the starting materials, the Al3Ti phase was almost completely eliminated and the distribution of TiC particulates generally appeared to be more homogeneous throughout the products synthesized.  相似文献

Hydrothermal process was applied to synthesize zinc oxide nanocrystals. X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used to analyze the crystal structure and surface morphology. XRD pattern analysis showed that the ZnO clusters are single hexagonal phase of wurtzite structure (space group P63 mc) with no impurity of Zn and Zn(OH)2. Also, SEM images revealed that the size of a single ZnO crystal is between 200-500 nm in diameter and 2-5 μm in length. The influence of potassium iodide (KI) as a surfactant on the crystallinity of ZnO has been investigated.  相似文献

The Karlsruhe Tritium Neutrino experiment (KATRIN) is going to use a very large electro-static tandem spectrometer to measure the electron spectrum from the tritium beta decay, where several kilometers of non-evaporable getter (NEG) strips (type ST707) are to be used to achieve the UHV requirements. Different geometrical configurations of the NEG strips have been studied by Monte Carlo simulations. It is shown that the resulting pumping speed of the getter pumps will allow to get a pressure below 10−11 mbar in the huge vessel with a volume of 1400 m3. By systematic assessment of the statistics of the pumping surfaces, it could be demonstrated that the design is sound.  相似文献

A methodology for developing allowables-based stress versus strain relationships for metal alloys is presented. The approach incorporates Federal Aviation Administration/Department of Defense (FAA/DoD) Metallic Materials Property Development and Standardization (MMPDS) statistically derived material properties for tensile yield and ultimate strengths to derive flow curves at room or elevated temperature with an A-, B-, or S-Basis probability. The resulting flow curves may be used for new designs to comply with Federal Air Regulations as well as for forensic investigations and failure analysis.  相似文献

This paper presents an application of digital signal processing to data acquired by the radio imaging method (RIM) that was adopted to measure moisture distribution inside the human body. RIM was originally developed for the mining industry; we are applying the method to a biomedical measurement because of its simplicity, economy, and safety. When a two‐dimensional image was constructed from the measured data, the method provided insufficient resolution because the wavelength of the measurement medium, a weak electromagnetic wave in a VHF band, was longer than human tissues. We built and measured a phantom, a model simulating the human body, consisting of two water tanks representing large internal organs. A digital equalizer was applied to the measured values as a weight function, and images were reconstructed that corresponded to the original shape of the two water tanks. As a result, a two‐dimensional image containing two individual peaks corresponding to the original two small water tanks was constructed. The result suggests the method was applicable to biomedical measurement by the assistance of digital signal processing. This technique may be applicable to home‐based medical care and other situations in which safety, simplicity, and economy are important.  相似文献

This paper presents an inelastic element for the analysis of beams on foundations. The element is derived from a two-field mixed formulation with independent approximation of forces and displacements. The state determination algorithm for the implementation of the element in a general purpose nonlinear finite element analysis program is presented and its stability characteristics are discussed. Numerical studies are performed to compare the model with the classical displacement formulation. The studies confirm the superiority of the proposed model in describing the inelastic behavior of beams on foundations.  相似文献

Numerical simulations are investigated to describe precisely the shock wave reflections in supersonic steady air flow field. The main objectives are to study the influence of the wedge trailing edge corner angle, of the numerical methods and of the viscous effects on the shock wave reflections and on the hysteresis behavior. The computations are done with different MUSCL-TVD finite volume schemes and the corresponding results are compared. The flow viscosity is also taken into account and comparisons are made between inviscid and viscous flow simulations. The results display the non-negligible influence of the numerical scheme accuracy on the results, mainly on the position and height of the Mach stem, and the relatively weak influence of the flow viscosity on these parameters. Comparisons between numerical results and experimental data have also been done and a good agreement is only observed for small wedge angles mainly due to the three-dimensional effects in the experimental setup.  相似文献

In order to avoid unnecessary damage of electrical equipments and installations,high quality power should be delivered to the end user and strict control on frequency should be made, Therefore, it is important to estimate the power system's harmonic components with higher accuracy. This paper presents a new approach for estimating harmonic component in a power system using secant - fuzzy linear regression method. In this approach the non - sinusoidal voltage or current waveform is written as I linear function. The coefficient of this function is assumed to be fuzzy number with a membership function that has center and spread value. The time dependent quantity is written as Taylor series with two different time dependent quantities. The objective is to use the sample obtained from the transmission line to find the power system harmonic components and frequencies. We used an experimental voltage signal from a sub power station as a numerical test.  相似文献
