In this paper an experimental procedure, by means of thermographic technique, was set up in order to detect some typical defects, which could be found in composite material sandwich structures. The material thermal response was investigated for different artificially defects inserted in some specimens; every kind of defect was listed. Then the experimental procedure was applied to study a wind-turbine blade made of sandwich composite structure. The results fulfilled the expectations and confirmed the reliability of the thermographic technique to be used both in laboratory and in service. 相似文献

The internal three-dimensional turbulent flow of adjustable axial-flow pump arrangement was simulated, and the force acting
on the blade surface was calculated under different operating conditions. Based on the calculated results, finite element
method (FEM) was adopted to analyze stress and strain distributions of the adjustment blade in different operations. Hydraulic
moment, centrifugal moment and friction moment which must be conquered by adjusting the blades were also calculated.

A sirocco fan using contra-rotating rotors in which an inner rotor is settled inside the sirocco fan rotor and each rotor rotates in an opposite direction was proposed for the purpose of getting the higher pressure and making the structure of a sirocco fan more compact. If the high discharge pressure is obtained with the adoption of the contra-rotating rotors, it could be used for various purposes. Pressure coefficient of a sirocco fan with contra-rotating rotors is 2.5 times as high as the conventional sirocco fan and the maximum efficiency point of contra-rotating rotors shifts to larger flow rate than a conventional sirocco fan. On the other hand, it was clarified from the flow measurement results that circumferential velocity component at the outlet of the outer rotor of contra-rotating ro- tors becomes larger than a conventional one. In the present paper, the performance of a conventional sirocco fan and a sirocco fan with contra-rotating rotors are shown and the internal flow field at the outlet of outer rotor of both cases is clarified. Then, the effect of different kind of contra-rotating rotors on the performance and internal flow field is investigated and the rotor design with higher performance would be discussed. 相似文献

This paper presents an investigation into causes of failure of geothermal steam turbine blades. Several L-0 blades of geothermal
steam turbines of 110 MW capacity suffered failures, causing forced outages of the turbines. To assess the causes of failure,
the natural frequencies of the blades installed on the rotor were measured in the laboratory. The measured frequencies were
compared with the natural frequencies calculated through a finite-element analysis (FEA) of the blade. The FEA was also used
to calculate the vibratory stresses on the blade numerically. Also, the investigation analyzed the operational data and the
history of the blade failures on several rotors of different units from the same system. The results of previous repairs were
reviewed, and metallurgical investigations were conducted to identify the mechanical and metallurgical modes of failure. The
results of the investigation showed that the fracture of two blades was attributed to installation and manufacturing errors
and aggravated by general deterioration of the blades. The deterioration was caused by the erosion and corrosion process that
resulted from moisture condensation in the steam. 相似文献
