In manufacturing industries, the quality of a product depends on the combined effect of multiple input variables working singly or together and therefore attention has been given on process capability indices to shift from single to multivariate domain. In case of multivariable domain the capability to incorporate uncertainties at the time of decision making becomes necessary. Fuzzy system is introduced to take care of this requirement. In this article the process parameters of soap manufacturing industries have been analyzed. The process capability is determined using Fuzzy Inference System rule editor based on a set of justified if then statements as applicable for the process. The data has been collected in linguistic form to derive its process capability, using a set of justified rules and the effect of each factor has been determined using Design of Experiments (DoE) and analysis of variance technique (ANOVA) for improving the soap quality from perspective of its softness. This article ventures to propose a new methodology by integrating Fuzzy with DoE providing better result followed by DoE and Fuzzy Inference system in isolation.  相似文献

There is a growing body of research on the successes and failures of information and communications technology (ICT) projects in the public sector. However, this literature has rarely addressed the question of why some projects persist and continue despite functioning poorly in several areas. In this paper, we suggest that the notions of institutional logics and status differences provide useful insights into the structure and trajectory of this type of continuity. We build our arguments through an in-depth qualitative case study of a public information and communications technology (PICT) project in India. From our findings, we develop a process model of PICT project continuity. We explain how the employment of bureaucratic posturing – a manifestation of bureaucratic logic – as a tactic by high status groups could lead to poor performance on several fronts. The paper elaborates on two levels of continuity: policy-level continuity, which in our case was enabled by the logics of decentralization and technocracy, and operational-level continuity, which was achieved when groups with contrasting status-related motivations supported the project.  相似文献

采用双螺杆挤出机通过熔融共混制备了尼龙6/(苯乙烯/丙烯腈/顺丁烯二酸酐)共聚物/玻璃纤维(PA6/SANMAH/GF)复合材料,测试了材料的拉伸强度、弯曲强度、弯曲弹性模量、缺口冲击强度、热变形温度、吸水率、熔点和熔融焓,并与GF增强PA6(PA6/GF)复合材料和GF增强PA6/(苯乙烯/丙烯腈)共聚物(PA6/SAN/GF)复合材料进行了性能对比。结果表明,在PA6与SANMAH的质量比为100:3—30时,PA6/SANMAH/GF复合材料的拉伸强度与PA6/GF复合材料相当,但高于PA6/SAN/GF复合材料,弯曲强度和弯曲弹性模量高于PA6/GF和PA6/SAN/GF复合材料.缺口冲击强度高于PA6/GF复合材料,但低于PA6/SAN/GF复合材料;在PA6与SANMAH的质量比为100:40时,PA6/SANMAH/GF复合材料的拉伸强度、弯曲强度和缺口冲击强度明显降低;在整个试验范围内,PA6/SANMAH/GF复合材料的热变形温度比PA6/GF和PA6/SAN/GF复合材料低4~7℃;吸水率随着SAN-MAH用量的增加而逐渐减小。  相似文献

Water hydraulic systems use water as a pressure medium and, thus, do not pose such adverse environmental impacts as oil hydraulics. Microbial deterioration of the pressure medium and biofouling of the surfaces restrict the applicability of the water‐based technology. The potential of microbial growth control by UV‐irradiation and filtration was studied in a pilot‐scale water hydraulic system. The UV‐irradiation (25 m Ws cm?2) of the pressure medium reduced the total viable counts of bacteria by 1–2 log10 cfu cm?3, whereas the total microbial cell numbers and the numbers of surface‐attached microorganisms remained unaffected. Prefiltration (1.2 µm, absolute) of the pressure medium decreased the total microbial cell number in the water phase and retarded the attachment of bacteria. The filtration during the operation (2 µm, absolute) decreased the total numbers of microbial cells and the total viable counts in the pressure medium, and microbial attachment on the surfaces. Microbial attachment was not prevented by filtration. The microbial water quality obtained by pre‐ and on‐line filtration of the pressure medium was sufficient to ensure the long‐term operation of the water hydraulic system assuming that clean work practices are complied with in assembly and during the operation. © 2002 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

In the context of a European union‐supported network on “Reactive Surfactants for Heterophase Polymerization,” different polymerizable surfactants (surfmers) have been synthesized and engaged in the emulsion polymerization of styrene, butyl acrylate, and acrylic acid. The thermomechanical properties of films cast from these different latices are reported in this article. The evolution of the mechanical properties with temperature and the effect of water molecules on these properties are studied. We observed that the studied surfactants do not influence the properties of the dry films. However, some differences due to grafting of reactive surfactants appeared when the films were wet. The amount of water uptake is drastically decreased when only reactive surfactants are present in the film. Concerning the mechanical behavior of the wet films, a decrease of the plastic flow stress is observed for all the samples whatever the nature of the surfactant (reactive or conventional). Hence, calorimetric measurements and dynamic mechanical analysis are used to identify the possible mechanisms that induce the change in the mechanical behavior of the latex films. In the case of reactive surfactant grafted to the polymer, the very low value of water uptake is accompanied by a plasticization of the polymer. In contrast, no plasticizing effect is observed in the case of nonreactive surfactant, even if the amount of water is very large. Finally, the tensile behavior of the styrene–butyl acrylate copolymer versus temperature is analyzed in the frame of the quasi point defects (qpd) model. Both rubber elasticity and chain orientation effects are taken into account to describe the behavior laws at large extensions (i.e., ? ≈ 1.2). © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
