The aim of a European Union-funded research project entitled 'Supporting and Promoting Integrated Tourism in Europe's Lagging Rural Regions' (SPRITE) is to analyse and develop the potential for better-integrated tourism in the rural landscapes of Europe. Integrated tourism can be defined as that which is explicitly linked to the localities in which it takes place and, in practical terms, has clear connections with local resources, activities, products, production and service industries, and a participatory local community. Enhancing the sustainable economic potential of rural landscapes requires partnerships among rural people and the sustainable yet productive use of rural resources. A 'culture economy' approach to integrated tourism is proposed, which emphasizes the importance of local identity, the strategic commodification of resources and of place, and the importance of extra-local forces in enabling local activities. It is suggested that this approach may represent a shift beyond more traditional approaches to rural development. 相似文献

The role of land codes in the allocation of indigenous lands to colonial developers in North Borneo is examined. It is argued that such codes, by defining how indigenous peoples could secure their rights to land, provided an important framework to encourage the expansion of plantation production. The expansion of rubber and tobacco plantations, coupled with prevailing colonial attitudes to shifting cultivation, were important catalysts in the alienation of land from indigenous peoples. The clash between Western conceptions of private property and indigenous notions of communal ownership and control encapsulated the complex economic and cultural conflicts that the expansion of colonial settlement and development in the tropics engendered. 相似文献

The frequency distributions of grades and tonnages of Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, and Au in Canadian stratiform massive sulphide deposits can be approximated by lognormal distributions. Lack of significant statistical correlation between grade and tonnage in the discovered economic deposits suggests statistical independence between these two variables. Grade-tonnage curves exhibit several forms that include exponential relationships. The curves may characterize specific geological environments containing specific mineral deposits, and may be used to estimate the subeconomic resources in the environment. 相似文献

在高原地区开展了燃用含水乙醇/汽油混合燃料的试验研究。在汽油机上进行了纯汽油与掺比为10%含水乙醇(95%浓度)/汽油混合燃料的动力性、经济性和排放性能的对比试验。试验结果表明,E10混合燃料的稳定性良好;燃用E10含水乙醇/汽油混合燃料后,能保持发动机的原机动力性;在较低转速内,有效燃油消耗率有一定的上升,随着转速和负荷的提高,有效燃油消耗率的上升状况得到较好的改善;当量燃油消耗率明显低于原机水平;有效热效率得到不同程度的提高;怠速工况的CH和CO的排放有所改善。 相似文献

An optimal and redundant building cooling heating and power (BCHP) system can yield economical savings, but more importantly can save energy as well as reduce the emission of pollutants. This paper presents the energy flow analysis of the conventional separation production (SP) system and the redundant BCHP system. Four decision variables (the capacity of power generation unit (PGU), the capacity of heat storage tank, the on–off coefficient of PGU and the ratio of electric cooling to cool load) to be optimized are selected in consideration of the design and the operation strategy of BCHP system. An objective function to simultaneously measure the energetic, economical and environmental benefits achieved by BCHP system in comparison to SP system is constructed and maximized. Particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSOA) is employed to search the optimal solutions. A case study of BCHP system with thermal storage unit and hybrid cooling system is presented to ascertain the feasibility and validity of the optimization method. 相似文献
