Optimal operation of a multibasin reservoir system   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A simulation-optimization procedure is presented for evaluating the extent of interbasin transfer of water in the Peninsular Indian river system consisting of 15 reservoirs on four river basins. A system-dependent simulation model is developed incorporating the concept of reservoir zoning to facilitate releases and transfers. The simulation model generates a larger number of solutions which are then screened by the optimization model. The Box complex nonlinear programming algorithm is used for the optimization. The performance of the system is evaluated through simulation with the optimal reservoir zones with respect to four indices, reliability, resiliency, vulnerability and deficit ratio. The results indicate that by operating the system of 15 reservoirs as a single unit the existing utilization of water may be increased significantly.  相似文献

Pressure to compress the development life cycle and reduce the duration and resources committed to testing lead to experimentation in testing at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Centerís Software Engineering Laboratory. This study investigates the trend to reduce developer testing and increasingly rely upon inspection techniques and independent functional testing to shorten the development life cycle, improve testing productivity, and improve software quality.An approach is developed to conduct this comparison. The physical metallurgy underlying the development of cast microstructures in abrasion resistant high chromium cast irons, and their structural modification by thermal treatments is relatively complex. Structural characterisation via electron microscopy therefore has a key role to play in furthering our understanding of the phase transformations that control the microstructures and hence the service performances of these irons as wear parts. This paper shows how both scanning and especially transmission electron microscopy can provide valuable information on the nature of eutectic and secondary carbides and on the matrix structures in these irons. Particular attention is given to current characterisation research on conventionally cast 30%Cr irons that are used for applications involving corrosive wear e.g. slurry pumps and on a semi-solid cast 27%Cr iron that has a potential for applications in industry.  相似文献

Ferrous ion was transformed into feroxyhyte (δ-FeOOH) by oxidation. Then, manganese sulfate and zinc sulfate in some ratio were added to the feroxyhyte solution. The co-precipitation was boiling reflux conditions sometime under constant stirring. The nanosize MnZn ferrite powder was formed. The mechanism of preparation of the nanosize MnZn ferrite was discussed, and the formation of feroxyhyte which was playing a key role during the process was mentioned. The properties of powder was tested by means of X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results show that the samples of spherical particles about 20 nm, which have characteristics of ferrimagnetism, has larger saturation magnetization, but the remanent magnetization and coercivity are comparatively smaller. The spinel MnZn ferrite nanosize powder was successfully prepared from δ-FeOOH at low temperature, with low-carbon steel and peroxide as main material.  相似文献

The tau code is a 1D line-by-line radiative transfer code, which is generally applicable for modeling transmission spectra of close-in extrasolar planets. The inputs are the assumed temperature–pressure profile of the planetary atmosphere, the continuum absorption coefficients and the absorption cross-sections for the trace molecular absorbers present in the model, as well as the fundamental system parameters taken from the published literature. The program then calculates the optical path through the planetary atmosphere of the radiation from the host star, and quantifies the absorption due to the modeled composition in a transmission spectrum of transit depth as a function of wavelength. The code is written in C++, parallelized using OpenMP, and is available for public download and use from http://www.ucl.ac.uk/exoplanets/.  相似文献
