The influence of various reaction parameters on the performance of (α‐diimine)nickel(II) catalysts in ethylene oligomerization reactions

Modified (α‐diimine)nickel(II) catalysts are suitable for ethylene oligomerization reactions. Due to the mechanism (“chain running”), the formation of double‐bond isomers and branched olefins can be observed. The obtained oligomer mixtures show a Schulz–Flory distribution. Increasing ethylene pressure favors the selectivity of α‐olefin formation. The same effect can be observed when Lewis bases like thiophene or furane are added to the oligomerization reaction mixture. These results can be related to an interaction of the additives with the catalytic active species during the oligomerization process. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Effects of Light, Oxygen, and pH on the Absorbance of 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl

ABSTRACT: The absorbance of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) at 517 nm in methanol and acetone decreased by 20 and 35% for 120 min at 25 °C under light, respectively; in the dark it did not change significantly for 150 min. Decomposition of DPPH under 21% oxygen after 90 min under light was significantly higher than that under 1% oxygen. Absorbance of DPPH in pH 4 buffer solution in methanol, and in pH 10 buffer solution in acetone, decreased by 55 and 80%, respectively, under light for 120 min. The evaluation of antioxidant activity by the changes of DPPH absorbance should be carefully interpreted since the absorbance of DPPH at 517 nm is decreased by light, oxygen, pH, and type of solvent in addition to the antioxidant.

报道了应用于激光光谱学中直接测量短脉冲光峰值光功率的双通道测量系统。给出了两个通道的线性关系和频率响应曲线。实验表明此测量系统可以测量到脉宽为10ns的脉冲光峰功率1％的放大和吸收。     

MIS型单晶硅液晶光阀

详细介绍了一种新颖、快速响应的金属－绝缘层－半导体构成的MIS型单晶硅液晶光阀的结构、工作机理、制作工艺和性能参数测试。液晶采用45°扭曲向列型混合场效应工作模式。所得到的光阀的极限分辨率为40lp／mm，口径40mm，最大对比度＞100：1，在930nm（△λ＝40nm）写入光灵敏度为20μW／cm2，响应时间为15ms。报道了该光阀在大屏幕投影显示中的应用。

An Arctangent Unwrapping Technique of Photoelasticity Using Linearly Polarized Light at Three Wavelengths

Abstract:  In the automatic measurements of the principal stress directions ψ and the total relative phase retardation ρ _tol, ψ and ρ _tol can be easily obtained by the phase unwrapping method using the arctangent function. However, only some published works exist on the measurements of ψ and ρ _tol by photoelastic techniques using a linearly polarised incident light source. This paper presents the technique of applying an unwrapping by means of the arctangent function to photoelasticity. The technique overcomes the error associated with the quarter-wave plate by using an incident light of different wavelength and does not need an interpolation for the determination of ψ . The technique is validated by determining ψ and ρ _tol for the well-known circular disk subjected to a diametral compressive load model.
