Due to the growing importance of width control in strip and plate mills, edge rolling is currently an im-portant process in
hot rolling mills. Research in edge rolling has been carried out, and in the present ar-ticle, models for roll force, torque,
and lever arm coefficient are derived using the upper bound method. A simple, kinematically admissible deformation zone and
velocity field, independent of friction in the roll gap, is proposed, and the energy dissipation rate is derived. The formula
for energy dissipation rate has, in practice, no limitation because all edge rolling geometries are safely in the area where
the formula is valid. Roll force and torque are derived by means of two independent integrals. Thus, the lever arm coef-ficient
is evaluated from the expressions for roll force and torque using conventional rolling theory. Roll-ing trials report good
agreement with theory. Measured roll forces are similar to calculated forces. Furthermore, the shape of the dogbone that arises
during edge rolling is in fairly good agreement with the calculated dogbone shape. Deviations are due to the deviation from
ideally plastic material in the ex-periments. Also, the strain distribution over the dogbone is similar to the proposed deformation
zone. Thus, a new formula has been developed to a stage that it can be implemented in width control systems for edge rolling

Poor sludge settleability is a problem encountered in many activated sludge wastewater treatment plants. This study was aimed at combatting the unwanted biological growths at the root of this phenomenon with ozone. Ozone dosed directly into the aeration basins of small activated sludge pilot plants treating both domestic and synthetic fuel wastewaters led to a substantial reduction of the bulking problem even at dosages as low as 6 to 10 mg/L. The formation of natural gas hydrate (NGH) is studied in this work. Kinetics data of hydrate formation with no agitation were collected at various concentrations of the aqueous solutions with different additives such as alkylpolyglucside, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate and potassium oxalate monohydrate. Various kinds of additive increased the formation rates of NGH and its storage capacity and reduced the induction time of NGH formation. This article deals with the oxidation effect of ozone on the increasing fraction of biodegradable organic matter with the “ozotest” method, a laboratory technique which simulates the effect of ozonation and allows a complete oxidation assessment. Ozone treatment was performed on river water samples and sand filter effluent samples. Ozone consumption, reduction of UV absorbance and BDOC formation were monitored with applied ozone doses from 0 to 10 mg/L and with contact times from 0 to 60 min. The BDOC formation was optimum at an applied ozone dose of 0.25-0.5 mg O3 per mg DOC (contact time = 5 min) corresponding to apparition of traces of residual ozone and maximum UV reduction. Maximum ozone consumption, UV reduction and BDOC formation occurred simultaneously during the first two minutes of treatment. Concerning BDOC formation, applied ozone dose showed a greater effectiveness than contact time. For the same quantity of consumed ozone, a short contact time associated with a high ozone dose was preferable to a long contact time and a low ozone dose. 相似文献

地下管廊常因填土沉降和外部荷载等原因造成管廊结构崩溃、接口错位、脱节、管身裂缝、破损等结构损伤。针对填土沉降和外部荷载作用下管廊出现的问题,结合益阳管廊项目,利用FLAC3D有限差分方法模拟土工布对填土沉降的防护以及土工格栅的构造因素对外部荷载作用下的管廊防护进行研究,模拟结果表明:益阳管廊底部铺设土工布可以有效控制填土沉降;管廊上部铺设3层,宽度为12 m的土工格栅有效减轻、分散外部荷载对管廊的作用力。 相似文献

RSKNN 算法是一种基于变精度粗糙集理论的 k-近邻改进算法,该算法能够保证在一定分类精度的前提下,有效地降低分类的计算量,提高分类效率。但由于 RSKNN 算法只是简单地将每个类中的样本划分成一个核心和边界区域,并没有根据数据集本身的特点进行划分,因而存在极大的局限性。针对存在的问题,提出一种多代表点学习算法,运用结构风险最小化理论对影响分类模型期望风险的因素进行分析,并使用无监督的局部聚类算法学习优化代表点集合。在UCI公共数据集上的实验表明,该算法比RSKNN算法具有更高的分类精度。 相似文献
