HEGM: A hierarchical elastic graph matching for hand gesture recognition

A hierarchical scheme for elastic graph matching applied to hand gesture recognition is proposed. The proposed algorithm exploits the relative discriminatory capabilities of visual features scattered on the images, assigning the corresponding weights to each feature. A boosting algorithm is used to determine the structure of the hierarchy of a given graph. The graph is expressed by annotating the nodes of interest over the target object to form a bunch graph. Three annotation techniques, manual, semi-automatic, and automatic annotation are used to determine the position of the nodes. The scheme and the annotation approaches are applied to explore the hand gesture recognition performance. A number of filter banks are applied to hand gestures images to investigate the effect of using different feature representation approaches. Experimental results show that the hierarchical elastic graph matching (HEGM) approach classified the hand posture with a gesture recognition accuracy of 99.85% when visual features were extracted by utilizing the Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) representation. The results also provide the performance measures from the aspect of recognition accuracy to matching benefits, node positions correlation and consistency on three annotation approaches, showing that the semi-automatic annotation method is more efficient and accurate than the other two methods.     

Runtime home mapping for effective memory resource usage

In tiled Chip Multiprocessors (CMPs) last-level cache (LLC) banks are usually shared but distributed among the tiles. A static mapping of cache blocks to the LLC banks leads to poor efficiency since a block may be mapped away from the tiles actually accessing it. Dynamic policies either rely on the static mapping of blocks to a set of banks (D-NUCA) or rely on the OS to dynamically load pages to statically mapped addresses (first-touch).     

Electrochromic WO3−x films with reduced lattice deformation stress and fast response time

Electrochromic properties of electrochemically deposited and etched (EDE) WO_3−x films have been investigated using voltammetry and nanogravimetry to elucidate the amount of residual stress associated with lattice polarization and deformation in WO_3−x nanoparticles. The cathodic WO_3−x deposition from pertungstic acid solution and unusual properties of the cathodic electroetching of the oxide in tetraethyl ammonium chloride solution are reported and elucidated on the basis of Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Nanogravimetry (EQCN) measurements. The stress enhanced resonant frequency shift was observed upon WO_3−x film coloration. However, the stress enhancement appeared to be much lower (up to 4-6 times) than that measured for films synthesized by other methods. The stress reduction in WO_3−x films under study has been attributed to the stress relaxing propensity of EDE film to suppress the compressive stress wave. A considerable isotopic effect has been observed in nanogravimetry of the H⁺ and D⁺ ion intercalation into WO_3−x films. We have found that the isotopic effect is primarily due to the true mass loading difference between hydrogen and deuterium ions, for the same concentration of color centers (2.65 × 10²¹ cm⁻³), since EQCN frequency shifts associated with stress in the film for H⁺ and D⁺ are very close to each other.     

Non‐Parametric Identification Method of Volterra Kernels for Nonlinear Systems Excited by Multitone Signal

To solve the problem of Volterra frequency‐domain kernels (VFKs) of nonlinear systems, which can be difficult to identify, we propose a novel non‐parametric identification method based on multitone excitation. First, we have studied the output properties of VFKs of nonlinear systems excited by the multitone signal, and derived a formula for identifying VFKs. Second, to improve the efficiency of the non‐parametric identification method, we suggest an increase in the number of tones for multitone excitation to simultaneously identify multi‐point VFKs with one excitation. We also propose an algorithm for searching the frequency base of multitone excitation. Finally, we use the interpolation method to separate every order output of VFK and extract its output frequency components, then use the derived formula to calculate the VFKs. The theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the non‐parametric method has a high precision and convenience of operation, improving the conventional methods, which have the defects of being unable to precisely identify VFKs and identification results are limited to three‐order VFK.

PTC型BaTiO3陶瓷的孪晶和孪晶界

用透射电镜和高分辨电镜观察研究了PTC型BaTiO_3陶瓷的孪晶和孪晶界结构,并提出了可能的{111}孪晶及孪晶界的原子结构模型。结果表明,{111}孪晶形成氧八面体共面的共格倾斜孪晶界,在孪晶界处可能存在一定量的A空位且原子密度要低于孪晶体内。同时还发现两种其它特征的孪晶现象。     

云模型在测井曲线分层中的应用

针对由模糊信息导致测井曲线人工分层的不准确,提出了一种基于云模型的测井曲线自动分层方法.而云模型能同时体现概念的随机性和模糊性,利用云变换从测井曲线中提取定性概念,然后对提取的概念进行概念跃升,使得算法输出的概念层次更符合实际.实验表明,该方法能够较准确地提取和表征定性概念,所提取的概念中心与传统测井曲线分层方法得到的概念中心吻合较好,验证了算法的有效性,提高了测井曲线分层的准确性.     

一种灰色模糊油田区块水驱指标评价模型

针对油田开发中的不确定因素,结合油藏开发因素中的定性化指标,提出了一种基于油田开发水驱指标的模糊综合评价模型.通过灰色关联法定量筛选影响油田开发水驱因素的九项指标,运用层次分析法确定了各指标的权重,结合模糊数学中的判断矩阵实现了油田各区块的模糊综合评价.此方法不仅可以对所有区块进行总体评价,还能对各个具体区块进行精细的评价,为油田开发与管理提供了有效的指导.最后,通过实际例子验证了模型的有效性以及可行性.     

双序渐进式概念格合并算法

针对传统的概念格合并算法仅为单向的纵向或横向合并,提出一种基于概念内涵、外延升降序的双序渐进式合并算法。按照概念的内涵或外延的升序和降序,从两个方向(由上到下和由下到上)同时进行子概念格的纵向或横向合并。算法分析和示例结果表明,该算法不仅在结构上较好地保留了原有信息,而且在效率上也获得了显著的提高。     

The far infra-red spectrum of poly(vinyl chloride)

The far infra-red spectrum of a poly(vinyl chloride) sample prepared by the urea clathrate (UC) route has been measured at various temperatures in the range 60 to 320 K. The results, taken in conjunction with those for two less highly ordered polymers, indicate that a revision of the assignments of earlier workers, based on normal coordinate calculations and on the measured spectra of secondary alkyl chlorides such as 2-chlorobutane, is required. The band at 65 cm^?1 is attributed to a lattice mode and is not indicative of weak hydrogen bonds of the type CH…ClC. However, it is suggested that the band at 185 cm^?1, which is particularly clear and sharp with the UC polymer, probably originates from an interaction of this type, occurring specifically at tight chain folds.
