When quadrature error exists, the shape of the M‐ary phase shift keying (MPSK) signal constellation becomes skewed‐elliptic. Each MPSK symbol takes on a different symbol error probability (SEP) value. The analytical results presented thus far have been derived from studies which examined the SEP problem assuming that the SEP of each MPSK symbol is equally likely; therefore, those results should not be treated as offering a complete solution. In this letter, we present a new and more complete solution to the SEP problem of MPSK by relaxing the above assumption and finding the expressions for the average as well as individual SEP in the presence of quadrature error. 相似文献

In space shift keying (SSK), all information bits are transmitted by antenna indices rather than transmitting symbols. To obtain high spectral efficiency, exponentially increasing number of antennas is used, which is generally not practical. Less number of antennas can only be possible by using more than one active antenna, such as generalized SSK, but this type of solutions result in excessive degradation in bit error ratio in correlated channels. In this study, variable number of active antennas for each codeword is proposed and called variable antenna‐SSK. First of all, pairwise error probability is obtained for variable number of antennas in the case of correlated channels. Then, to reduce the correlation effect, a novel antenna codeword construction method that minimizes the pairwise error probability is introduced for exponentially correlated channels. Codeword sets are obtained for k = 3 and 8 bits/s/Hz for 7 and 13 transmit antennas. This paper considers a cognitive radio–assisted wireless information and power transfer system consisting of multipair of transceiver in primary network and 2‐hop relaying link in secondary network. In this investigation, a decoded‐and‐forward–assisted relay node and power splitting protocol are deployed to obtain ability of wireless energy transfer. The relay node harvests energy from the radio frequency signals of the secondary transmitter and primary transmitters in data transmission to the destination by reusing the licensed spectrum resource. We propose 2 policies for wireless power transfer at the relay, namely, (1) multisource power transfer and (2) single‐source power transfer. To evaluate performance under energy harvesting regime, we derive the closed‐form outage probability expressions and achievable throughput of the secondary network in delay‐limited transmission mode. In addition, we investigate the impact of various system parameters including number of primary transceivers, primary outage threshold, and position arrangement of nodes in primary transceivers on the outage performance of the proposed scheme. Furthermore, we evaluate the system energy efficiency to show trade‐off metric of energy consumption and throughput. Performance results are presented to validate our theoretical derivation and illustrate the impacts of various system parameters. An important result is that the secondary network is more beneficial than harmful from the primary interference under power constraint and reasonable node location arrangement. 相似文献

This paper derives a simple exact expression of symbol error probability (SEP) for general order cross QAM constellation in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. The key idea is to obtain this novel expression from a simple analysis of the corresponding rectangular QAM. The analysis of the expression involves simple one dimensional Gaussian Q functions unlike other complex SEP expressions. A simple tight bound approximation of the proposed exact SEP is also given, which provides performance improvement over the existing SEP approximations, particularly for low signal to noise ratios (SNRs). Also, with the help of simulation results, we show that the proposed approximation is in excellent agreement with the exact SEP curve. Moreover, the proposed expressions prove to be useful for accurate estimation of the SEP in Nakagami-m fading channel, including the special case of Rayleigh fading (m = 1). 相似文献
