Membranes with outstanding performance that are applicable in harsh environments are needed to broaden the current range of organic dehydration applications using pervaporation. Here, well‐intergrown UiO‐66 metal‐organic framework membranes fabricated on prestructured yttria‐stabilized zirconia hollow fibers are reported via controlled solvothermal synthesis. On the basis of the adsorption–diffusion mechanism, the membranes provide a very high flux of up to ca. 6.0 kg m?2 h?1 and excellent separation factor (>45 000) for separating water from i ‐butanol (next‐generation biofuel), furfural (promising biochemical), and tetrahydrofuran (typical organic). This performance, in terms of separation factor, is one to two orders of magnitude higher than that of commercially available polymeric and silica membranes with equivalent flux. It is comparable to the performance of commercial zeolite NaA membranes. Additionally, the membrane remains robust during a pervaporation stability test (≈300 h), including exposure to harsh environments (e.g., boiling benzene, boiling water, and sulfuric acid) where some commercial membranes (e.g., zeolite NaA membranes) cannot survive. 相似文献

Discotic liquid‐crystalline (LC) physical gels have been prepared by combining the self‐assembled fibers of a low‐molecular‐weight gelator and semiconducting LC triphenylene derivatives. The hole mobilities of the discotic LC physical gels measured by a time‐of‐flight method become higher than those of LC triphenylenes alone. The introduction of the finely dispersed networks of the gelator in the hexagonal columnar phases may affect the molecular dynamics of the liquid crystals, resulting in the enhancement of hole transporting behavior in the LC gel state. 相似文献

The magnetic properties of polyethersulfone-matrix composites with 3-19 vol.% polycrystalline nickel filaments (0.4 (im diam)
were investigated. These filaments were found to exhibit hysteresis energy loss 10800 J/m3 of nickel and coercive force 16.9 kA/m, compared to corresponding values of 4930 J/m3 and 4.7 kA/m for 2 μ.m diam polycrystalline nickel fibers, 1020 J/m3 and 0.5 kA/m for 20 μm diam polycrystalline nickel fibers, and 1280 J/m3 and 2.3 kA/m for solid polycrystalline nickel. 相似文献

Giving Direction to Motion and Surface with Ultra‐Fast Speed Using Oriented Hydrogel Fibers 下载免费PDF全文
Thermoresponsive hydrogel fibrous membranes showing directionally controlled movements and surface change with ultra‐fast speed are presented for the first time. They show reversible coiling, rolling, bending, and twisting deformations in different controllable directions for many cycles (at least 50 cycles tried) with inside‐out change in surfaces and shapes. Speed, reversibility, large‐scale deformations and, most importantly, control over the direction of deformation is required in order to make synthetic actuators inspired from natural materials or otherwise. A polymeric synthetic material combining all these properties is still awaited. This issue is addressed and provide a very simple system fulfilling all these requirements by combining porosity and asymmetric swelling/shrinking via orientation of hydrogel fibers at different angles in a fibrous membrane.
