AbstractThis study aimed at investigating the effect of L-cysteine on the Cu2+-induced oxidation of quercetin, within a pH range varying from 6.7 to 8.3 and temperatures varying from 53 to 87?°C. Initial examinations showed that quercetin degradation obeyed apparent first-order kinetics and it was significantly temperature-dependent. Modelling of the effect of L-cysteine by implementing response surface methodology suggested that L-cysteine did not inhibit quercetin oxidation, but it acted as an oxidation stimulant. Liquid chromatography-diode array-mass spectrometry analyses revealed the presence of typical quercetin degradation and oxidation products, including protocatechuic acid, 2-(hydroxybenzoyl)-2-hydroxybenzofuran-3(2H)-one and a quinone methide. However, the presence of two tentative quercetin/L-cysteine adducts evidenced the implication of L-cysteinyl radicals in the relevant reactions. It was concluded that the formation of L-cysteinyl radicals may promote quercetin oxidation, giving rise to substances with unknown biological significance. This fact merits further attention to illuminate possible beneficial or adverse nutritional consequences of such reactions in foods. 相似文献

ABSTRACTA green and simple deep eutectic solvent-based ultrasound-assisted liquid phase microextraction method has been developed for the preconcentration of copper as 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-(diethylamino) phenol chelates. The effects of pH, ligand concentration, DES volume, sample volume, and tetrahydrofuran volume were investigated. Analytical performance parameters like limit of detection, limit of quantification, preconcentration factor, and relative standard deviation were determined as 6.6 μg L?1, 21.8 μg L?1, 15, and <5%, respectively. Validation of the developed method was checked by the analysis of certificated reference materials. ABSTRACT ACORGA PT5050 diluted with iberfluid (kerosene-type diluent, mostly aliphatic) was used to coextract copper and nickel from ammoniacal carbonate solutions. The influence of kinetics, temperature, equilibrium pH, and extractant concentration on the extraction of both metals has been studied. It was observed that nickel extraction is very sensitive to aqueous pH and that the extraction falls beyond an equilibrium pH of 9. For a typical solution containing near 3 g/L each of copper and nickel and 60 g/L ammonium carbonate, conditions were established for the coextraction and selective stripping of nickel and copper. 相似文献

Abstract In this paper, hollow fiber renewal liquid membrane (HFRLM) and hollow fiber supported liquid membrane (HFSLM) were used to simultaneously remove and recover copper(II) from aqueous solutions, and the transport performance of these two techniques were compared under the similar conditions for the system of CuSO4 +D2EHPA in kerosene +HCl. The results showed that the HFRLM process was more stable than the HFSLM process. The HFRLM process had a higher overall mass transfer coefficient than that of HFSLM process in single-pass experiments. These were because the renewal effect of the liquid membrane layer could reduce the mass transfer resistance of the lumen side and replenish the loss of the membrane liquid in the HFRLM process. The transport results were better in the HFRLM process than that in the HFSLM process with recycling experiments. Therefore, HFRLM technique is a promising method for simultaneous removal and recovery of heavy metal from aqueous solutions. 相似文献
