Thermoplastic starch (MaterBi) composites reinforced with quasi-unidirectional flax fiber in cross-ply (CP) arrangement were produced by film stacking followed by hot pressing. These composites, containing various amount of flax, failed ductilely with pronounced crack growth. Therefore, to determine their fracture mechanical behaviour the J-integral resistance curve concept (J–R) was applied. As the crack growth could not be traced, attempt was made to use the located acoustic emission (AE) events for that purpose. It was established that weighting and smoothing the located cumulative AE amplitudes the crack path can be correctly reconstructed. This was proved by collating the AE results with those derived from infrared thermographic (IT) inspection. Knowing the crack propagation at each point of the force–displacement curves the J–R curves could be determined. Both critical or initiation J-integral and tearing modulus went through a minimum with increase of flax content in the composites. 相似文献

This paper presents new measurements of the viscosity of gaseous R407C (23 mass% HFC-32, 25 mass% HFC-125, 52 mass% HFC-143a) and R407E (25 mass% HFC-32, 15 mass% HFC-125, 60 mass% HFC-143a). The measurements were carried out with an oscillating-disk viscometer of the Maxwell type at temperatures from 298.15 to 423.15 K. The densities of these two fluid mixtures were calculated with the equation-of-state model in REFPROP. The viscosity at normal pressures was analyzed with the extended law of corresponding states developed by Kestin et al., and the scaling parameters needed in the analysis were obtained from our previous studies for the viscosity of the binary mixtures consisting of HFC-32, HFC-125, and HFC-134a. The modified Enskog theory developed by Vesovic and Wakeham (V-W method) was applied to predict the viscosity for the ternary gaseous HFC mixtures under pressure. As for the calculation of pseudo-radial distribution functions in mixtures, a method based on the equation of state for hard-sphere fluid mixtures proposed by Carnahan-Starling was applied. It was found that the V-W method can predict the viscosity of R407C and R407E without any additional parameters for the ternary mixture. 相似文献

Abstract. Johannes Kepler's system of mathematical archetypes played a primary role in his physical cosmology. Identified as the geometrical models making up the metaphysical blueprint of the material world, Kepler's archetypes underlay every aspect of his world picture. Despite their importance, however, it has remained unclear how Kepler conceived of the archetypes in corporeal terms, that is, how he saw archetypes as being embodied in the form of material phenomena. Kepler's solution, I suggest, is an efficient cause, a facultas animalis, or animate faculty, pervading both the celestial and the terrestrial realms. In addition to its ability to realise the archetypes in their physical form, the animate faculty allowed Kepler to account for heavenly and earthly occurrences in terms of the same geometrical principles. Faraway phenomena such as comets and new stars could thus be seen as essentially comparable to more accessible curiosities on the Earth. 相似文献

The fundamental design for a gas-cooled reactor relies on the behavior of the coated particle fuel. The coating layers, termed the TRISO coating, act as a mini-pressure vessel that retains fission products. Results of US irradiation experiments show that many more fuel particles have failed than can be attributed to one-dimensional pressure vessel failures alone. Post-irradiation examinations indicate that multi-dimensional effects, such as the presence of irradiation-induced shrinkage cracks in the inner pyrolytic carbon layer, contribute to these failures. To address these effects, the methods of prior one-dimensional models are expanded to capture the stress intensification associated with multi-dimensional behavior. An approximation of the stress levels enables the treatment of statistical variations in numerous design parameters and Monte Carlo sampling over a large number of particles. The approach is shown to make reasonable predictions when used to calculate failure probabilities for irradiation experiments of the New Production - Modular High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor Program. 相似文献

Several V-W-Ti alloys with about 50% reduction in thickness by cold rolling were isochronally annealed at temperatures from 100 to 1100 °C. Hardness was measured after the annealing. By comparison with V4Cr4Ti and V4Ti alloys, the V6WTi alloy was found to begin recovery at a temperature about 100 °C higher, while the full recrystallization temperature was around 900 °C for all of the alloys. Hardness decreased successively above 500 °C in V8W, as is the case in pure V. Impurity induced hardening was observed around 300 °C only in the alloys without Ti. Precipitation and the interaction between interstitial impurities and dislocations were supposed to be the main contributors to the different recovery and recrystallization behaviors of the alloys. 相似文献
