Phase equilibrium calculations and phase stability analysis of reactive and non-reactive systems play a significant role in the simulation, design and optimization of reaction and separation processes in chemical engineering. These challenging problems, which are often multivariable and non-convex, require global optimization methods for solving them. Stochastic global optimization algorithms have shown promise in providing reliable and efficient solutions for these thermodynamic problems. In this study, we evaluate three alternative global optimization algorithms for phase and chemical equilibrium calculations, namely, Covariant Matrix Adaptation-Evolution Strategy (CMA-ES), Shuffled Complex Evolution (SCE) and Firefly Algorithm (FA). The performance of these three stochastic algorithms was tested and compared to identify their relative strengths for phase equilibrium and phase stability problems. The phase equilibrium problems include both multi-component systems with and without chemical reactions. FA was found to be the most reliable among the three techniques, whereas CMA-ES can find the global minimum reliably and accurately even with a smaller number of iterations.  相似文献

Single-Pole Double-Throw (SPDT) broadband switch has been designed in a 0.25gm Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) process. To optimize the performance of isolation and insertion loss, based on normal design, the effects of Gate Series Resistances (GSR) on insertion loss and switching time are analyzed for the first time. The compatible GSRs are chosen by the analyses. The fabricated chips were tested and the results show the switch isolation from DC (Direct Current) to 1GHz exhibits 55dB and insertion loss lower than 2.1 dB.  相似文献

A research program is described dealing with behavior in a classical GSR conditioning situation. The empirical program is related "to the broader perspective of psychology in general." The research "affords a slim—but I hope stable—bridge between S-R learning theory and whatever is meant by perceptual theory." A rationale of assumptions is developed and on the basis of analysis predictions are formulated. Degradation of the radiative properties of a 200 μm-polyethylene film caused by exposure to the harsh environment of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has been investigated over a period of 13 months. Measurements of global solar radiation (GSR), photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), air temperature and relative humidity were made inside and outside two single-polyethylene-covered model structures. Each model structure was 1 m wide, 1 m long, and 0.75 m high. The east side of each model structure was open for natural ventilation. One of the model structures was exposed to the environment during the 13-month period, while the other was kept indoor in a room to protect the polyethylene film from environment and was used as a control when measurements were carried out. Results showed that exposure to the environment reduced the polyethylene film transmittance to GSR and PAR. The reduction in solar radiation transmitted minimized air temperatures inside the structure. The average summer daytime temperature inside the exposed structure was 45.7 °C, as compared to 46.9 °C inside the control structure, while the average of outside temperature was 38.2 °C. The degradation of the polyethylene transmittance progresses rapidly during the first three months of exposure. The relative losses of GSR and PAR transmittance were 9% and 15.3%, respectively, after three months. However, the losses decreased to 5% and 8%, respectively, after 11 months due to rainfall in the area. Radiation transmittance was found to be dependent on season of the year. The averages (standard deviations) of GSR and PAR transmittance for the control film during winter months were 0.8 (0.01) and 0.75 (0.00), respectively. Whereas, during summer months, the averages (standard deviations) were 0.75 (0.02) and 0.71 (0.02), respectively. The averages (standard deviations) of GSR and PAR transmittance for the exposed film during winter months were 0.77 (0.03) and 0.70 (0.03), respectively, as compared to 0.68 (0.01) and 0.61 (0.02), respectively, during summer months.  相似文献

Reports an error in "CS and UCS intervals and orders in human autonomic classical differential trace conditioning" by John J. Furedy (Canadian Journal of Psychology Revue Canadienne de Psychologie, 1970[Dec], Vol 24[6], 417-426). The diagram appearing in this erratum should be substituted for the diagram appearing as Figure 2 on p. 423 of the article. (The following abstract of the original article appeared in record 1971-24206-001.) Measured the GSR and digital volume-pulse change in 4 groups of 80 Ss each with light and tone as CS and shock as UCS. For Groups I and II, the CS-UCS interval was .75 and 7.5 sec., respectively; for Groups III and IV, the UCS-CS interval was .75 and 7.5 sec., respectively. Group III showed 'backward' differential conditioning in the GSR; Group II yielded reliable conditioning of 'multiple responses' occurring before UCS onset; the magnitude and extent of conditioning was greater in Group I than in Groups II and III, which did not differ; some evidence for 'reverse' conditioning was suggested in Group IV, with slightly greater responding to the CS not paired with the UCS; instructions which distracted 1/2 the Ss from the CS did not affect responding to those stimuli. 96 male college students drew a man, a woman, and an automobile while continuous GSRs were obtained. A significant difference was found in the degree of anxiety for the 3 drawings. The auto yielded the lowest level of anxiety, and the woman drawing the highest level of anxiety. Adaptation differences were found for 7 of the graphic anxiety indexes. For the man drawing, secondary sexual body parts yielded the most anxiety, followed by the sexual body area. The sequence was the opposite for the woman drawing. Low but significant correlations were found between 10 of the 23 possible graphic indexes and either GSR frequency or conductance.
