多媒体技术把电视式的视听信息传播能力与计算机交互控制功能相结合,使计算机多媒体化,具有数字化全运动、播放、编辑和创作多媒体信息功能。多媒体信息经数字化处理后的数据量非常大,如何在多媒体系统有效地保存和传送这些数据就成为多媒体系统面临的一个最基本的问题,也是最大的难题之一。多媒体数据压缩技术有效地解决这一问题。     

A 2‐in. a‐Si:H TFT‐LCD with embedded backlight control TFT sensors with various channel widths

Abstract— A 2.0‐in. a‐Si:H TFT‐LCD with embedded TFT sensors for the control of the backlight intensity according to the ambient light intensity has been developed. Two types of a‐Si:H TFT sensors with various channel widths were embedded into a TFT backplane with bottom‐ and top‐gate structures for measuring the ambient light and backlight illumination, respectively. The output signal, measured by a readout IC, increased with backlight intensity until 20,000 lux.     

Convergence analysis of geometrical multigrid methods for solving data-sparse boundary element equations

The convergence analysis of multigrid methods for boundary element equations arising from negative-order pseudo-differential operators is quite different from the usual finite element multigrid analysis for elliptic partial differential equations. In this paper, we study the convergence of geometrical multigrid methods for solving large-scale, data-sparse boundary element equations. In particular, we investigate multigrid methods for \(\mathcal{H}\)-matrices arising from the adaptive cross approximation to the single layer potential operator.     

冗余控制系统在炼铁厂TRT发电装置中的应用

鉴于TRT高炉煤气发电装置的重要性且对其可靠性的要求较高,因而该发电装置的控制系统选用了西门子S7—400H冗余系统。文中简述了TRT高炉煤气发电装置的构成,介绍了S7—400H冗余系统的硬件结构、模块参数和各程序模块的具体功能。该控制系统投运后,TRT高炉煤气发电装置运行可靠,效果良好。     

Comparison of the Hansen-Sengupta and the Frommer-Lang-Schnurr existence tests

The Krawczyk and the Hansen-Sengupta interval operators are closely related to the interval Newton operator. These interval operators can be used as existence tests to prove existence of solutions for systems of equations. It is well known that the Krawczyk operator existence test is less powerful that the Hansen-Sengupta operator existence test, the latter being less powerful than the interval Newton operator existence test. In 2004, Frommer et al. proposed an existence test based on the Poincaré-Miranda theorem and proved that it is more powerful than the Krawczyk existence test. In this paper, we complete the classification of these four existence tests showing that, in practice, the Hansen-Sengupta existence test is actually more powerful than the existence test proposed by Frommer et al.     

Motion mapping and mode decision for MPEG-2 to H.264/AVC transcoding

This paper describes novel transcoding techniques aimed for low-complexity MPEG-2 to H.264/AVC transcoding. An important application for this type of conversion is efficient storage of broadcast video in consumer devices. The architecture for such a system is presented, which includes novel motion mapping and mode decision algorithms. For the motion mapping, two algorithms are presented. Both efficiently map incoming MPEG-2 motion vectors to outgoing H.264/AVC motion vectors regardless of the block sizes that the motion vectors correspond to. In addition, the algorithm maps motion vectors to different reference pictures, which is useful for picture type conversion and prediction from multiple reference pictures. We also propose an efficient rate-distortion optimised macroblock coding mode decision algorithm, which first evaluates candidate modes based on a simple cost function so that a reduced set of candidate modes is formed, then based on this reduced set, we evaluate the more complex Lagrangian cost calculation to determine the coding mode. Extensive simulation results show that our proposed transcoder incorporating the proposed algorithms achieves very good rate-distortion performance with low complexity. Compared with the cascaded decoder-encoder solution, the coding efficiency is maintained while the complexity is significantly reduced.

A method of predicting the number of clusters using Rand's statistic

Distributional and asymptotic results on the moment of Rand's C_k statistic were derived by DuBien and Warde [1981. Some distributional results concerning a comparative statistic used in cluster analysis. ASA Proceedings of the Social Statistics Section, 309–313.]. Based on those results, a method to predict the number of clusters is suggested by applying various agglomerative clustering algorithms. In the procedure, the methods using different indexes are examined and compared based on the concept of agreement (or, disagreement) between clusterings generated by different clustering algorithms on the set of data. Our method having practical generality works better than the other methods and assigns statistical meaning to C_k values in determining the number of clusters from the comparison.     

H.264宏块选择的自适应算法研究

在视频编码的过程中,运动估计占据了举足轻重的地位.其性能优劣会在一定程度上决定了码流质量.采用16×16宏块能够提高压缩比,但容易产生方块效应,使用4×4宏块可以提高图像质量,但降低了压缩比。H.264视频压缩标准采用多模式运动估计,可以有效减少块匹配预测误差,但随着模式的增多,算法计算量成倍增加.为了克服这个困难,本文提出一种新的自适应的宏块划分和运动估计算法。这种分块算法在综合考虑图像本身特性在编码过程中,根据图像的各个部分运动程度不同而采用不同的分快策略,兼顾图像质量和处理开销。
