The Separation of Beryllium from Selected Elements Using the Dipex® Extraction Chromatographic Resin
Abstract An extraction chromatographic resin containing the acidic chelating organophosphorus extractant, Dipex®, sorbed onto an inert polymeric substrate has been evaluated for the separation of beryllium from a wide range of elements. The elements selected comprise those which can interfere with the determination of beryllium by inductively coupled plasma‐atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP‐AES) and matrix elements which commonly occur in environmental and industrial samples. Based on batch uptake measurements, a method that separates beryllium from all potential ICP‐AES spectral interfering elements using a single extraction chromatographic column is outlined. The chromatographic parameters of the separation method have been optimized using simulated samples generated using the digestion process employed in beryllium analyses by the Y‐12 National Security Complex and simulated ground water samples. 相似文献

This paper describes a self-aligned fabrication process for diamond gated field emitter array (FEA). Utilizing the non-conformal coverage sputtering conditions of silicon oxide, an interesting “sphere on cone” structure is formed on diamond nano tip array, which is the key point of gate hole opening process. This structure causes shadowing at certain regions of side-wall during Ti / Au gate metal deposition. Removal of “sphere” by wet etching leads to the successful fabrication of a single crystalline diamond gated FEA. Scanning electron microscope observations reveal the fabrication of a uniform emitter array with tip radius of curvature (20 nm) and gate hole (1.4 μm). We also confirmed that no noticeable physical damage exists on tip. In field emission characteristics of the fabricated single crystal diamond gated FEA, gate voltage control of field emission current is realized. 相似文献

Ninety samples of brown rice cv Amaroo, which has occupied over 50% of the area sown to rice in southern Australia in the last two seasons, were collected from the rice growing regions of southern Australia at the end of the 1991–1992 season. The samples were analysed for total nitrogen using the Kjeldahl technique, and for P, K, S, Mg, Ca, Na, Al, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo and Zn using inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy. The analysis of concentrations of elements show that Mn concentrations in Australian rice were higher and Ca concentrations lower than typical values reported for brown rice grown in other countries. For all other elements the concentrations had a similar range to those reported for overseas rice. Highly significant correlations were found between the major nutrients P, K and Mg, and also N and S. The Mg to K ratio ranged from 1·3 to 1·6 which indicates that, if Japanese criteria are used, the taste/stickiness quality within this cultivar of Australian rice could vary from undesirable to highly desirable. 相似文献
