In a SIMD or VLIW machine, conceptual synchronizations are accomplished by using a static code schedule that does not require run-time synchronization. The lack of run-time synchronization overhead makes these machines very effective for fine-grain parallelism, but they cannot execute parallel code structures as general as those executed by MIMD architectures, and this limits their utility.In this paper we present a timing analysis that allows a compiler for a MIMD machine to eliminate a large fraction of the run-time synchronization by making efficient use of static code scheduling. Although these techniques can be adapted to be applied to most MIMD machines, this paper centers on the analysis and scheduling for barrier MIMD machines. Barrier MIMDs are asynchronous multiple instruction stream/multiple data stream architectures capable of parallel execution of variable execution-time instructions and arbitrary control flow (e.g., while loops and calls). However, they also incorporate a special hardware barrier synchronization mechanism that facilitates static scheduling by providing a mechanism which the compiler can use to enforce precise timing constraints. In other words, the compiler tracks relative timing between processors and uses static code scheduling until the timing imprecision becomes too large, at which point the compiler simply inserts a barrier to reduce that timing imprecision to zero (or a small constant).This paper describes new scheduling and barrier placement algorithms for barrier MIMDs that are based loosely on the list scheduling approach employed for VLIWs [Ellis 1985]. The growing need for reliable, efficient, high temperature hydrogen and hydrocarbon monitoring has fueled research into novel structures for gas sensing. Metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) devices employing a catalytic metal layer have emerged as one of the leading sensing platforms for such applications, owing to their high sensitivity and inherent capability for signal amplification. The limited operating temperature of such devices employing silicon as the semiconductor has led research efforts to focus on replacing them with devices based on silicon carbide (SiC). More recently, MOS devices having different oxide layers exhibiting improved sensing performance have emerged. Considering the amount of research that has been carried out in this area in recent times, it is important to elucidate the new findings and the gas interaction mechanisms that have been ascribed to such devices, and bring together several theories proposed by different research groups. In this paper we first highlight the needs which have driven research into SiC based field effect hydrogen and hydrocarbon sensors, illustrate the various structures being investigated, and describe the device evolution and current status. We provide several sensing examples of devices that make use of different oxide layers and demonstrate how their electrical properties change in the presence of the gases, as well as presenting the hydrogen gas interaction mechanisms of these sensors. 相似文献

In this paper, we present control designs for single-input single-output (SISO) nonlinear systems in strict feedback form with an output constraint. To prevent constraint violation, we employ a Barrier Lyapunov Function, which grows to infinity when its arguments approach some limits. By ensuring boundedness of the Barrier Lyapunov Function in the closed loop, we ensure that those limits are not transgressed. Besides the nominal case where full knowledge of the plant is available, we also tackle scenarios wherein parametric uncertainties are present. Asymptotic tracking is achieved without violation of the constraint, and all closed loop signals remain bounded, under a mild condition on the initial output. Furthermore, we explore the use of an Asymmetric Barrier Lyapunov Function as a generalized approach that relaxes the requirements on the initial conditions. We also compare our control with one that is based on a Quadratic Lyapunov Function, and we show that our control requires less restrictive initial conditions. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed control. 相似文献

Barrier options are financial derivative contracts that are activated or deactivated according to the crossing of specified
barriers by an underlying asset price. Exact models for pricing barrier options assume continuous monitoring of the underlying
dynamics, usually a stock price. Barrier options in traded markets, however, nearly always assume less frequent observation,
e.g. daily or weekly. These situations require approximate solutions to the pricing problem. We present a new approach to
pricing such discretely monitored barrier options that may be applied in many realistic situations. In particular, we study
daily monitored up-and-out call options of the European type with a single underlying stock. The approach is based on numerical
approximation of the transition probability density associated with the stochastic differential equation describing the stock
price dynamics, and provides accurate results in less than one second whenever a contract expires in a year or less. The flexibility
of the method permits more complex underlying dynamics than the Black and Scholes paradigm, and its relative simplicity renders
