A nomenclature technique developed earlier by the author is expanded to produce an ordering of hexagons that nearly meets the original intent of Patterson's nomenclature rules in organic chemistry for a system of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons formed using only benzene modules. The result desired is a simple systematic method which orients a figure formed by the fusion of regular hexagonal rings so that, first, there is a maximum number of rings on a horizontal line and, second, that as many of the remaining rings as possible are above and to the right of this horizontal reference line. In the process of trying to formulate such a system, problems that are inherent in interpreting the intent of Patterson's rules and in pragmatically implementing these rules are examined. Furthermore, a minor modification of the technique produces a canonical orientation of a long molecule which can then be used to formulate the I.U.P.A.C. name for this molecule.  相似文献

This paper reported on the work performed to study the formation of silicon nitride and silicon carbide whiskers using the carbothermal nitridation process. A distinctive aspect of the present study lies in the use of the mechanical milling method to alter the regularity of the crystalline network of the silica sand. In order to optimise the processing parameters for the synthesis of silicon carbide, the concept of Taguchi's Design of Experiments was considered, the analysis being based on Taguchi's signal to noise ratio and variance techniques to obtain optimum combination of process parameters. Important factors influencing the formation of silicon carbide were the duration of the mechanical milling, followed by temperature, time and heating rate.  相似文献

The main aim of this study is to characterize the effect of some commercial detergents on whey proteins in order to select an efficient detergent to clean inorganic membranes fouled during the process of whey proteins fractionation. The influence of such variables such as time, pH, temperature, type and detergent concentration on the rate of protein hydrolysis has been established. Also, the nature and size of produced peptides have been determined. The most efficient values of cleaning parameters have been obtained by using the enzymatic detergent P3-Ultrasil 62.  相似文献

Confined states of a positronium (Ps) in the spherical and circular quantum dots (QDs) are theoretically investigated in two size quantization regimes: strong and weak. Two-band approximation of Kane’s dispersion law and parabolic dispersion law of charge carriers are considered. It is shown that electron-positron pair instability is a consequence of dimensionality reduction, not of the size quantization. The binding energies for the Ps in circular and spherical QDs are calculated. The Ps formation dependence on the QD radius is studied.  相似文献

The present article considers the free-vibration analysis of plate structures with piezoelectric patches by means of a plate finite element with variable through-the-thickness layer-wise kinematic. The refined models used are derived from Carrera’s Unified Formulation (CUF) and they permit the vibration modes along the thickness to be accurately described. The finite-element method is employed and the plate element implemented has nine nodes, and the mixed interpolation of tensorial component (MITC) method is used to contrast the membrane and shear locking phenomenon. The related governing equations are derived from the principle of virtual displacement, extended to the analysis of electromechanical problems. An isotropic plate with piezoelectric patches is analyzed, with clamped-free boundary conditions and subjected to open- and short-circuit configurations. The results, obtained with different theories, are compared with the higher-order type solutions given in the literature. The conclusion is reached that the plate element based on the CUF is more suitable and efficient compared to the classical models in the study of multilayered structures embedding piezo-patches.  相似文献
