Gait-based human identification aims to discriminate individuals by the way they walk. A unique advantage of gait as a biometric
is that it requires no subject contact and is easily acquired at a distance, which stands in contrast to other biometric techniques
involving face, fingerprints, iris, etc. This paper proposes a new gait representation called motion energy image (MEI). Compared
with other gait features, MEI is more robust against noise that can be included in binary gait silhouette images due to various
factors. The effectiveness of the proposed method for gait recognition is demonstrated using experiments performed on the
NLPR database.

Heesung Lee received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 2003
and 2005, respectively. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate of Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University.
His current research interests include computational intelligence, pattern recognition, biometrics, and neural network.
Sungjun Hong received the B.S. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea,
in 2005. He is a graduate student of the combined master’s and doctoral degree programs at Yonsei University. He has studied

Imran Fareed Nizami received the B.S. degree from University of Engg. & Tech. Taxila, Pakistan and the M.S. degree in the Electrical and Electronic
Engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He is currently a senior lecturer in Bahria University, Islamabad, Pakistan.
His research interests include biometrics, gait recognition, Bayesian and neural networks.
Euntai Kim received the B.S. (with top honors), M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea,
in 1992, 1994, and 1999, respectively. From 1999 to 2002, he was a Full-time Lecturer with the Department of Control and Instrumentation
Engineering at Hankyong National University, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. Since 2002, he has been with the School of Electrical and
Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University, where he is currently an associate professor. He was a Visiting Scholar with
the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and the Berkeley Initiative in Soft Computing (BISC), UC Berkeley, USA, in 2003
and 2008, respectively. His current research interests include computational intelligence and machine learning and their application

1961—2017 年京津冀地区极端降水事件变化特征 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
为了给京津冀地区防洪减灾及水资源管理提供科学参考,有必要对该地区极端降水事件的变化特征进行探究。根据 25 个气象站 1961—2017 年的逐日降水资料,计算了京津冀地区 10 个极端降水指数。通过因子分析得到 4 个公因子,进而选取中雨日数( R10) 、1 日最大降水量( RX1day) 、连续无雨日数( CDD) 、连续降水日数( CWD) 等 4 个代表性极端降水指数,采用线性倾向率、滑动 T 检验、反距离权重插值( IDW) 、小波分析等方法进行研究。结果表明: ( 1) 近 57a 来,R10、RX1day、CWD分别以 - 0. 27 d、 - 1. 60 mm、 - 0. 29 d /10a 的速率减少,CDD 以 1. 50 d /10a 的速率增加。( 2) CWD 在 995 年由增加突变为减少,R10、RX1day、CDD 均未发生突变。( 3) R10、RX1day、CDD、CWD的第 1 主周期尺度介于 9 ~ 25a,相应的平均周期介于 4. 5 ~ 12. 8a。( 4) RX1day 空间差异最大,R10次之,CDD、CWD 分布较均。( 5) 近 57a 来,京津冀各地区 R10、CWD 的变化趋势增减不一,但变幅均很小,大部分地区 RX1day 呈减少趋势,减幅西北低、东南高,而 CDD 主要呈增加趋势,增幅北高南低。1961—2017 年,京津冀地区呈现干旱化趋势,而这种变化与综合 ENSO 指数( MEI) 总体上并无显著关联。 相似文献

在气候变化和人类扰动下,河川径流过程变化日益复杂,探索径流变化对气候因子(ENSO事件)的响应规律,掌握区域水资源发展动态,对科学制定区域水资源规划和管理策略及满足人类需求与生态系统的水平衡要求极为重要。通过交叉小波变换法与凝聚谱方法,分析陕西省渭河咸阳站、无定河丁家沟站、汉江安康站河川径流规律与ENSO事件的相关性,从物理驱动因素层面探讨径流周期变化的潜在机理。分析结果显示:20世纪70年代以前,各站径流与ENSO指数(MEI指数)在小尺度2~4 a周期上均存在着显著的负相关;从20世纪70年代开始,径流与ENSO指数的相关性变得复杂,这与研究区内人类活动影响增强并成为径流驱动的主因有关。研究表明:交叉小波变换法与凝聚谱方法适用于水文和气象要素间响应关系的分析,可深层次地揭示两者之间的相关性和响应时滞方面的联系,可反映气候因子对径流过程影响的时域变化特征。案例结果表明:陕西省河川径流变化在20世纪70年代以前主要受气候因子驱动,响应较为紧密;20世纪70年代以后,人类活动影响逐渐超越气候因子影响,径流变化表现为人类与气候双驱动模式,且以人类活动为主。 相似文献
