游戏开发中智能路径搜索算法的研究

在游戏软件中,人工智能是一个重要而又复杂的模块,而寻路算法是人工智能运用于电子游戏中的最基本问题之一。针对游戏中路径搜索的特点,在对一般搜索算法、常见搜索算法和启发式搜索技术进行详细地分析与研究的基础之上,结合实际应用情况,对A*算法进行了一些优化与改进。     

基于PC机的函数发生器设计与实现

在了解DAC0832芯片的基础上,实现数字到模拟量的转换,通过对8255A的内部构造、控制字、方式字的设置以及如何将开关置入的数字信号传输到DAC0832进行数模转换,最终达到能输出正弦波、三角波、锯齿波、脉冲波,根据开关输入情况进行波形切换,实现用户操作的随意性。     

触摸传感器QST108与PIC单片机的接口设计

QST108为意法半导体公司生产的电容触摸传感器,具有功能强大且易操作等特点,非常适合应用在能够对用户触摸做出响应的智能控制界面中。本文重点介绍了QST108的工作方式及主要操作命令,给出了QST108与PIC单片机的接口设计以及部分程序代码。     

HERMES: embedded file system design for A/V application

Embedded systems such as PVR, set-top box, HDTV put unique demand on I/O subsystem design. Underlying software, particularly file system, needs to be elaborately designed so that it can meet tight constraints of consumer electronics platform: performance, price, reliability, and etc. In this work, we develop state-of-art file system elaborately tailored for A/V workload. There are two design objectives in our file system: performance and support for logical level abstraction. For performance, we develop a number of novel features: extent based allocation, single level file structure with block index augmentation scheme, aggressive free block allocation to minimize disk fragmentation, elaborate file system meta data layout, separation of name space data and file data and etc. HERMES enables the user to view file as a collection of semantic units (frame or audio samples). HERMES file system encompasses most of state-of-the-art file system technologies published in preceding works. Via extensive physical experiment, we verify that HERMES file system successfully addresses the original issues: good scalability, predictable I/O latency (minimizing variability in I/O latency), efficient disk head movement and etc. This is the result of harmonious effort of large I/O size, aggressive free block allocation algorithm, data block placement strategy, file organization, layout of HERMES file system and etc. The result of performance experiments indicate that HERMES file system prototype successfully meets the file system constraints for high volume and high bandwidth multimedia application. HERMES file system exhibits superior performance to EXT2 file system (Linux) and XFS file system (SGI).

An approach to analyzing and planning post-merger IS integration: Insights from two field studies

Information systems (IS) integration is among the most challenging tasks in corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&As). In this paper we propose and illustrate the use of an approach to analyzing and planning post-merger IS integration that extends general theory for IS planning, considering the specific characteristics of the M&A context. We highlight that planning effectiveness is possible to achieve in fundamentally different ways, dependent on the characteristics of the merger or acquisition at hand.

Fast Summation of Radial Functions on the Sphere

Radial functions are a powerful tool in many areas of multi-dimensional approximation, especially when dealing with scattered data. We present a fast approximate algorithm for the evaluation of linear combinations of radial functions on the sphere . The approach is based on a particular rank approximation of the corresponding Gram matrix and fast algorithms for spherical Fourier transforms. The proposed method takes (L) arithmetic operations for L arbitrarily distributed nodes on the sphere. In contrast to other methods, we do not require the nodes to be sorted or pre-processed in any way, thus the pre-computation effort only depends on the particular radial function and the desired accuracy. We establish explicit error bounds for a range of radial functions and provide numerical examples covering approximation quality, speed measurements, and a comparison of our particular matrix approximation with a truncated singular value decomposition.     

Low-rank Kronecker-product Approximation to Multi-dimensional Nonlocal Operators. Part I. Separable Approximation of Multi-variate Functions

The Kronecker tensor-product approximation combined with the -matrix techniques provides an efficient tool to represent integral operators as well as certain functions F(A) of a discrete elliptic operator A in ℝ ^d with a high spatial dimension d. In particular, we approximate the functions A ⁻¹ and sign(A) of a finite difference discretisation A∈ℝ ^{N × N} with a rather general location of the spectrum. The asymptotic complexity of our data-sparse representations can be estimated by (n ^p log ^q n), p = 1, 2, with q independent of d, where n=N ^{1/ d} is the dimension of the discrete problem in one space direction. In this paper (Part I), we discuss several methods of a separable approximation of multi-variate functions. Such approximations provide the base for a tensor-product representation of operators. We discuss the asymptotically optimal sinc quadratures and sinc interpolation methods as well as the best approximations by exponential sums. These tools will be applied in Part II continuing this paper to the problems mentioned above.
