Systems with microturbines are implemented for local generation of heat and electricity. This paper presents the analysis of control concepts for a vapour microturbine set with a generator with permanent magnets, intended to work in small heat and power plants. Control system variants differed by the selection of controlled signals and set parameters. Possible ways of control were discussed and compared with experimentally determined static characteristics of the microturbine set. The simulation calculations were performed to check the control systems operation in various expected operating conditions. 相似文献

The NSD is a portable Neutron Searching Detector developed at Rotem Industries Ltd. with a high efficiency for counting fast and thermal neutrons employing improved gamma rejection. The NSD detection-unit consists of two 3He detectors installed within a polypropylene moderator. The latest international standards for detection of illicit trafficking of radioactive materials require high sensitivity, relatively small dimensions, and light mass. In order for it to meet these standards, the NSD detection-unit was optimized using Monte Carlo N-Particle transport code (MCNP). The moderator mass and dimensions were reduced without deterioration, even improving the instrument's sensitivity. The purposed moderator improvements covered in this paper work well for traditional hand-held neutron search detectors based on 3He tubes as well as for new neutron detection technologies due to the severe worldwide shortage of 3He.Three geometrical moderator configurations were examined using the MCNP code—a rectangular box, a circular cylinder, and an elliptical base cylinder. The optimization results showed that both the rectangular box moderator and the elliptical base cylinder moderators achieve the appropriate sensitivity required by the standards with about 30% reduced mass. A prototype was fabricated with the rectangular box moderator configuration, and its response was successfully validated by comparing empirical measurements against the results of the MCNP code.Performance examination of the optimal detection unit prototype was made regarding the latest international standards. The results showed a 17% improvement in detection limit for radioactive materials along with a 14% to 17% increased neutron detection response, while keeping the false alarm rate below the required threshold, and maintaining a 26% mass reduction. 相似文献

Recent developments in numerical schemes, turbulent combustion models and the regular increase of computing power allow Large Eddy Simulation (LES) to be applied to real industrial burners. In this paper, two types of LES in complex geometry combustors and of specific interest for aeronautical gas turbine burners are reviewed: (1) laboratory-scale combustors, without compressor or turbine, in which advanced measurements are possible and (2) combustion chambers of existing engines operated in realistic operating conditions. Laboratory-scale burners are designed to assess modeling and fundamental flow aspects in controlled configurations. They are necessary to gauge LES strategies and identify potential limitations. In specific circumstances, they even offer near model-free or DNS-like LES computations. LES in real engines illustrate the potential of the approach in the context of industrial burners but are more difficult to validate due to the limited set of available measurements. Usual approaches for turbulence and combustion sub-grid models including chemistry modeling are first recalled. Limiting cases and range of validity of the models are specifically recalled before a discussion on the numerical breakthrough which have allowed LES to be applied to these complex cases. Specific issues linked to real gas turbine chambers are discussed: multi-perforation, complex acoustic impedances at inlet and outlet, annular chambers…. Examples are provided for mean flow predictions (velocity, temperature and species) as well as unsteady mechanisms (quenching, ignition, combustion instabilities). Within the framework of the internal project HyQRA of the HYSAFE Network of Excellence (NoE), funded by the European Commission (EC), the participating partners were requested to apply their Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) methodologies on a predefined hypothetical gaseous H2 refuelling station named BBC (Benchmark Base Case). The overall aim of the HyQRA project was to perform an inter-comparison of the various QRA approaches and to identify the knowledge gaps on data and information needed in the QRA steps specifically related to H2. Partners NCSRD and UNIPI collaborated on a common QRA. UNIPI identified the hazards on site, selected the most critical ones, defined the events that could be the primary cause of an accident and provided to NCSRD the scenarios listed in risk order for the evaluation of the consequences. NCSRD performed the quantitative analysis using the ADREA-HF CFD code. The predicted risk assessment parameters (flammable H2 mass and volume time histories and maximum horizontal and vertical distances of the LFL from the source) were provided to UNIPI to analyze the consequences and to evaluate the risk and distances of damage. In total 15 scenarios were simulated. Five of them were H2 releases in confined ventilated spaces (inside the compression and the purification/drying buildings). The remaining 10 scenarios were releases in open/semi-confined spaces (in the storage cabinet, storage bank and refuelling hose of one dispenser). Since many years, engineering, research and development of hybrid systems for rural electrification are strongly supported by computer simulations. Different software packages have been used according to the required level of details along with the progress of the project HYRESS. For the development of optimal system control and load/energy management strategy, different simulation models from APL (Alternative Power Library) have been used for a Hybrid PV-wind-hydrogen system that will be installed in the Essaouira region in Morocco. This library provides models developed by IWES for the simulation of regenerative power supply systems and it is used to investigate the integration of a hydrogen storage path in hybrid system operation. 相似文献
