Ultra-wideband (UWB) is highly preferred for short distance communication. As a result of this significance, this project targets the design of a compact UWB antennas. This paper describes a printed UWB rhombus-shaped antenna with a partial ground plane. To achieve wideband response, two stubs and a notch are incorporated at both sides of the rhombus design and ground plane respectively. To excite the antenna, a simple microstrip feed line is employed. The suggested antenna is built on a 1.6 mm thick FR4 substrate. The proposed design is very compact with overall electrical size of 0.18λ × 0.25λ (14 × 18 mm2). The rhombus shaped antenna covers frequency ranging from 3.5 to 11 GHz with 7.5 GHz impedance bandwidth. The proposed design simulated and measured bandwidths are 83.33% and 80%, respectively. Radiation pattern in terms of E-field and H-field are discussed at 4, 5.5 and 10 GHz respectively. The proposed design has 65% radiation efficiency and 1.5 dBi peak gain. The proposed design is simulated in CST (Computer Simulation Technology) simulator and the simulated design is fabricated for the measured results. The simulated and measured findings are in close resemblance. The obtained results confirm the application of the proposed design for the ultra-wide band applications.  相似文献

为了使跳时脉冲相位调制超宽带(TH-PPM UWB)系统的多址接人性能尽可能满足系统要求,提高系统容量,首先在标准高斯近似的假没下,给出了TH-PPM UWB系统的多址接人误码率公式,然后分析了影响TH-PPM UWB系统的多址接人性能的各个因素,通过实验仿真验证了调整脉冲形成因子、PPM调制偏移量和每比特内码片数量可以改善系统的多址接人性能,但是这三个因素是受系统条件制约的,实际应用中应该根据系统指标,合理选择参数,才能达到预期的效果.  相似文献

重频超宽带脉冲可对多种电子设备与电子器件产生干扰。针对电子器件的干扰效应,着重从仿真分析和实验两方面研究了重频超宽带脉冲对无源混频器的干扰特征。分析了混频器对超宽带脉冲信号的响应特性,给出了不同参数条件下重频超宽带脉冲信号对混频器及混频滤波电路的干扰特征。研究表明,作为干扰信号,重频超宽带脉冲信号并不能影响混频器正常工作;当重频超宽带脉冲信号与通信信号一起注入混频器时,混频器可实现其正常的变频功能,而作为衡量混频器工作性能的重要指标,变频损耗可认为基本不变;重频超宽带脉冲信号经过混频滤波电路后变为同中频信号同样频率的连续波信号,其对混频滤波电路的干扰以及之后电路的干扰类似定频连续波信号干扰。  相似文献

首先提出了一种新结构共面波导馈电的小型平面超宽带(UWB)天线,该天线类似一般的共面波导馈电宽缝隙天线,为了获得超宽带工作特性,设计方案中采用了叉状结构的调谐支节,并将其辐射缝隙设计为多边形;通过数值计算研究了某些尺寸参数对天线输入特性的影响,在计算的基础上通过大量的实验详细研究了天线的频域工作特性,然后对其时域瞬时脉冲信号保真度特性进行了数值分析。计算与实验的结果表明,该天线具有超过3.2∶1的工作带宽和全向辐射特性,而且具有较好的线性相位传输特性和脉冲信号保真度,是一种有实用意义的超宽带天线。  相似文献

This paper investigates three decision- feedback receivers for Direct-Sequence Ultra-Wideband Radio (DS-UWB) based on two-channel BPSK modulation with ternary spreading code. A compact and insightful vector-matrix signal model is built up for receiver design under UWB channel dispersion over many consecutive symbols. First, we consider the design of a RAKE with Decision Feedback (RAKE-DF) receiver. Using the Gaussian approximation technique, we derive its analytic performance under no error propagation. It is shown that the RAKE-DF receiver suffers from a significant error floor due to the uncancelled pre-cursor ISI (or pre-ISI abbreviated). Next, we design the MMSE-DF receiver to achieve a better performance by suppressing the pre-ISI, too. However, the MMSE receiver requires costly matrix inversion. Then a new receiver is investigated as the third one, which is called the RAKE with Bi-Directional Decision Feedback (RAKE-BDDF) receiver, for efficiently canceling both the post-(cursor) ISI and pre-ISI at symbol rate. It cannot only attain the matched filter bound approximately, but also maintain a similar complexity as that of the RAKE-DF receiver. Simulation and semi-analytic BER curves are included for performance comparison of the three receivers in the presence of the CM2 and CM4 UWB channels.  相似文献

在几何单反射椭圆信道模型和几何随机信道模型基础上,针对电磁波传播过程中出现的多反射特性,提出一种多反射特性的无线信道建模方法。把该方法应用于超宽带信道研究,可以得到UWB信道的几何随机多反射模型(GSMB)。使用该方法对两个UWB信号传播环境进行仿真分析,仿真得到的UWB信道功率延迟分布与实验结果基本一致,同时也验证了其他研究者关于UWB信道中的成簇现象具有确定性的结论。  相似文献

In this paper, we have proposed a heterodyne technique to generate an optical millimeter-wave signal for ultra-wideband communication. First, we have investigated the characteristics of semiconductor lasers locked to another semiconductor under the RF modulation having many sidebands. The RF-modulated master laser is represented by a series of Bessel functions. This model is then inserted into Lang's rate equations. By numerically solving the resulting rate equations, we have determined the locked laser output characteristics as well as the RF spectrum of the beat signals. The result is that the unselected sidebands can produce undesired beat signals whose power may be comparable to that of the desired beat signal. Furthermore, their strength is affected by the injected ML light power. With reduced ML light, undesired beat signals and the injection-locking bandwidth can be suppressed. Second, we have experimented a new technique for generating millimeter-wave signals from a semiconductor laser. A 32 GHz signal is generated using a multisection semiconductor laser operated under a continuous wave by injecting optical pulses at a repetition rate equal to the fourth subharmonic (8 GHz). The generated millimeter-wave signal exhibits a large subharmonic suppression ratio, a large frequency detuning range, low levels of phase-noise and a large locking range. These simulation results are confirmed by experimental results. The high-frequency signal can be used in the field of ultra-wideband communication employing local multipoint distribution system (LMDS), wireless local loop (WLL) and mobile broadband system (MBS).  相似文献

An antipodal Vivaldi antenna (AVA) with band-notched characteristics is proposed in this paper for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. For UWB systems, there will be some interference from the narrow band systems. The proposed antenna adopts resonant parallel strip (RPS) to reject an unwanted narrow band. It is easy to tune the RPS to eliminate the interference band. To validate this approach, a printed AVA with RPS is simulated and fabricated. From 2 to 9 GHz, the proposed antenna shows a good result with approximate 2:1 VSWR, an average gain of 6.5 dB, and stable radiation patterns except the notched band. At the center frequency of the notched band, the measured results show that the VSWR is more than 8:1, the realized gain is less than −10 dB and a messy radiation pattern is achieved. The simulated and measured results are in good agreement.  相似文献
