Nanowires with inhomogeneous heterostructures such as polytypes and periodic twin boundaries are interesting due to their potential use as components for optical,electrical,and thermophysical applications.Additionally,the incorporation of metal impurities in semiconductor nanowires could substantially alter their electronic and optical properties.In this highlight article,we review our recent progress and understanding in the deliberate induction of imperfections,in terms of both twin boundaries and additional impurities in germanium nanowires for new/enhanced functionalities.The role of catalysts and catalyst-nanowire interfaces for the growth of engineered nanowires via a three-phase paradigm is explored.Three-phase bottom-up growth is a feasible way to incorporate and engineer imperfections such as crystal defects and impurities in semiconductor nanowires via catalyst and/or interfacial manipulation."Epitaxial defect transfer"process and catalyst-nanowire interfacial engineering are employed to induce twin defects parallel and perpendicular to the nanowire growth axis.By inducing and manipulating twin boundaries in the metal catalysts,twin formation and density are controlled in Ge nanowires.The formation of Ge polytypes is also observed in nanowires for the growth of highly dense lateral twin boundaries.Additionally,metal impurity in the form of Sn is injected and engineered via third-party metal catalysts resulting in above-equilibrium incorporation of Sn adatoms in Ge nanowires.Sn impurities are precipitated into Ge bi-layers during Ge nanowire growth,where the impurity Sn atoms become trapped with the deposition of successive layers,thus giving an extraordinary Sn content (>6 at.%) in Ge nanowires.A larger amount of Sn impingement (>9 at.%) is further encouraged by utilizing the eutectic solubility of Sn in Ge along with impurity trapping.  相似文献

This article proposes an analytical design methodology for dual‐band hybrid couplers and baluns structures for any arbitrary frequency ratio using a stub‐loaded transmission line. An analysis of changing the impedance behavior of the stub, is carried out for the two bands of operation, which along with a dispersive analysis, emphasizes certain conditions where the existing methodology is not applicable. In addition, an extra degree of freedom has been included to increase the solutions for a given frequency ratio, thus providing greater flexibility and feasibility of the proposed structure. The design methodology is experimentally validated with the design and fabrication of dual‐band branch‐line and rat‐race couplers for various commercial frequency bands. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A structure damage diagnosis method combining the wavelet packet decomposition, multi-sensor feature fusion theory and neural network pattern classification was presented. Firstly, vibration signals gathered from sensors were decomposed using orthogonal wavelet. Secondly, the relative energy of decomposed frequency band was calculated. Thirdly, the input feature vectors of neural network classifier were built by fusing wavelet packet relative energy distribution of these sensors. Finally, with the trained classifier, damage diagnosis and assessment was realized. The result indicates that, a much more precise and reliable diagnosis information is obtained and the diagnosis accuracy is improved as well.  相似文献

为提高Ka频段(30GHz/20GHz)卫星通信系统上行链路功率控制的可靠性,提出一种上行链路自适应功率控制算法。该方法基于自回归滑动平均模型,能由测量到的下行链路降雨衰减值预测出上行链路的降雨衰减值,从而提高功率控制精度。仿真结果表明,该方法对降雨衰减具有较好的补偿效果。  相似文献

A novel square ring printed antenna has been suggested for dual‐band circular polarization (CP). The geometry contains a square patch and a square ring structure for dual‐band operation. Circular polarization is achieved using triangular cut at the boundary and right angle bend with inner perturbation. The suggested antenna is excited from the lower layer through electromagnetic (EM) coupling technique. The antenna shows good impedance bandwidths of 90 MHz (2.43‐2.52 GHz) and 800 MHz (5.7‐6.5 GHz, respectively. The antenna shows 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth of 20 MHz at lower band and 120 MHz at upper band with improved gain > 6 dBi. The simulated and measured results are well agreed with each other. The antenna is promising wideband operation at the upper band. This antenna was implemented on fiberglass reinforcement laminated Arlon substrate with dielectric constant (?r = 2.55), and the overall physical dimension of 30 × 30 × 3.048 mm3. The designed antenna can be extensibly applicable in WLAN/Wi‐MAX communication. The presented antenna is designed using hyperlynx IE3D and the simulated results are presented.  相似文献

A wideband turnstile junction coaxial waveguide orthomode transducer (OMT) is presented in this paper, featuring coaxial waveguide input and orthogonal rectangular waveguide outputs. It primarily comprises of a turnstile junction, bending stepped impedance transformers and power combiners. The symmetrical geometry helps achieve wide operating bandwidth and balanced output phases. The OMT covers the whole Ku band from 12 to 18 GHz, which aims at wideband dual‐polarized signal combination and separation within coaxial‐type multi‐band antenna systems. An experimental prototype is manufactured and the measured results confirm that the reflection coefficient is lower than ?15 dB within the whole band, and the port isolation is better than 35 dB. Turnstile junction coaxial waveguide OMTs can be adopted widely in circular/coaxial waveguide hybrid feeding networks for multi‐band satellite communication/remote sensing antenna systems.  相似文献
