This paper resolves the problem of predicting as well as the best expert up to an additive term of the order o(n), where n is the length of a sequence of letters from a finite alphabet. We call the games that permit this weakly mixable and give a geometrical characterisation of the class of weakly mixable games. Weak mixability turns out to be equivalent to convexity of the finite part of the set of superpredictions. Application of reaction-produced γ-rays to diagnostics of energetic particles in burning plasmas is analyzed. Particularly, we focus on 0.981 MeV γ-rays emitted in the nuclear reaction solely governed in the plasmas by energetic tritons. It is shown that these γ quanta can serve as a promising tool to diagnose α knock-on tritons and α-particles confined in burning DT plasmas. Key parameters of the α knock-on triton population and the α-particle confinement property can be obtained by comparing the experimental γ-ray yield and spectrum with theoretical slowing-down calculations. Even if the γ-ray spectral shape cannot be acquired, one can monitor densities of these tritons and α-particles at energies of 0.6–1.8 MeV and 2.0–3.5 MeV, respectively, in a nearly steady-state plasma. The 0.981-MeV photons also would help to display time evolution of the α-particle population in experiments of deuterium plasmas with pulsed tritium beam shots. 相似文献

Ultrasonic velocities and densities of the drug Parvon-spas in binary mixtures of water with methanol (MeOH), ethanol (EtOH), and propan-1-ol (1-PrOH) have been measured over the complete solvent composition range at 10 mol% intervals at 25°C. Various acoustic parameters such as the acoustic impedance (Z), adiabatic compressibility (β), intermolecular free length (Lf), relative association (R.A.), molar volume (Vm), and molar sound velocity (Rm) have been calculated. In addition, excess functions, i.e., excess adiabatic compressibility (βE), excess intermolecular free length (LfE), excess molar volume (VE), excess ultrasonic velocity (UE), and excess acoustic impedance (ZE) for these three solvent mixtures in the absence and presence of the drug have been calculated. A different behavior of these parameters in these alcohol systems has been discussed in terms of the length of the alcohol molecule, the molecular volume, as well as inter/intramolecular interactions of these molecules. 相似文献

The paradox of fuzzy modeling is recognized due to the co-existence of its effectiveness of solving uncertain problems in the real world and the skepticism of its reasonability in membership function. In this paper, a revised membership function by means of supervised machine learning is introduced, in which the membership function curve is revised from the learning data of existing samples. It points that the information from supervised machine learning by samples is in the same argument to the statistic data from observation in the probability model. The formulations of supervised fuzzy machine learning by samples for revising the membership function are presented, and satisfactory results by the revised membership function compared with the experimental data are shown. We use multivariable feedback control to reduce variations in flow and back-pressure associated with two industrial separator units forming part of an edible oil refining line. This provides plant operators with a mechanism for increasing process yield without reducing product quality. Actuator limits are a natural consideration in the controller design since increased production rates require actuators to operate on or near their limits. In this paper, the stability issue of Lur’e systems governed by a control law stabilising their forward Euler approximate model is investigated. More specifically, the considered control law is obtained by exploiting the advantages of a new Lur’e type Lyapunov function with disconnected level sets. This Lyapunov function is adapted to discrete-time Lur’e systems and to the structure of the forward Euler approximate model. The main result consists of linear matrix inequality conditions allowing to guarantee that the continuous-time Lur’e system associated with the proposed digital control law is globally asymptotically stable.
