Improvement of region-based motion estimation by considering uncovered regions

In natural video sequences, object movement causes regions to be covered or uncovered. Conventional algorithms for region-based motion estimation do not take uncovered regions into full account. Uncovered regions seriously decrease the accuracy of motion estimation. This paper presents an algorithm for increasing the motion estimation accuracy. This algorithm detects uncovered regions and uses them to improve image segmentation and motion estimation. Experimental results show that the presented algorithm is effective in reducing the displaced frame difference, without introducing any extra information for coding applications.     

基于颜色信息的视频检索系统的实现

针对某电视台在转播节目时需要自动切换图像内容的要求，设计并实现了一套视频检索系统。这套系统充分利用彩色图像的颜色信息和颜色直方图的唯一性，通过计算两帧图像之间简化的直方图距离来判断它们是否相似。从实验结果看，这套系统能够快速，准确地从序列中检索出“感兴趣”的图像，并且自动切换成自己的视频内容，在“感兴趣”序列结束时也能快速地给出相应判断，整个系统基本满足应用的要求。     

基于Zapex1510的机载数字音视频记录系统设计

介绍了MPEG编码芯片Zapexl510的主要特点和工作方式，给出了基于该芯片的机载音视频记录系统电路和软件设计流程，该系统适用于战机作战情况事后分析和平时作战训练效果评判。     

Modeling Chirp and Phase Inversion in Wavelength Converters based on Symmetrical MZI-SOAs for use in All-Optical Networks

All-optical wavelength conversion based on multi-section semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) in a symmetrical Mach-Zehnder interferometer (SMZI) is modeled for use in optical networks. It incorporates an enhanced SOA model that is implemented using the time domain transfer matrix approach and hence the overall numerical model determines simultaneously the wavelength and gain parameters for the wavelength converter. The overall model accurately predicts the optimal conditions for the SMZI arrangement in order to achieve the best results for the chirp, the phase inversion and the converted probe signal power. It is also demonstrated that large chirp and mismatch of the phase inversion reduces the eye opening ratio (EOR) which can seriously affect the performance of the wavelength converter to be used as a sub-system component in all-optical networks.     

通信系统中数字上变频技术的研究与设计

为了将通信系统中数字基带信号调制到中频信号上,采用数字上变频技术,通过对数字I、Q两路基带信号进行FIR成形滤波、半带插值滤波、数字混频处理得到正交调制后的中频信号,最后经MATLAB仿真分析得到相应的时域和频域图,来验证电路设计的有效性。     

关于乡镇模数转换的几点思考

目前全国的城市社区都已经普及了数字电视,但在一些偏远的乡镇,还在使用一些天线、卫星电视接收器等接收模拟电视节目。利用天线等接收设备,只能收看到为数不多的电视频道,在一些特别偏远的地区,甚至接收不到电视信号,更谈不上数字电视,为此就乡镇的模数转换进行讨论,并提出一些建议和想法。

Si/InP材料的应力转化特性分析

InP材料被广泛的应用于光电子领域,但其材料脆、工艺不成熟、成本高,而Si基外延InP材料能良好的改善该技术瓶颈。论文中对不同介质、不同厚度的介质键合制备Si/InP材料进行了分析。其中以SiO2键合制备的Si/InP材料应力转化率最高,且SiO2制备工艺简单、亲水,材料键合强度大,机械特性好,是键合制备Si/InP材料的首选。而且,SiO2键合介质越薄,其应力转化率越高,材料对力学信号就越敏感,制备的Si/InP材料的机械性能越好。     

Improved Update Step for Scalable Video Coding in Video Surveillance

Many evolving video services and applications for intelligent security systems require reliable transmission of high quality video to diverse clients over heterogeneous networks using available system resources. Scalable video coding (SVC) is one of the emerging video compression technologies with such potential capabilities. Advances in lifting-based motion-compensated temporal filtering (MCTF) have enabled highly efficient and flexible spatial, temporal, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and complexity scalability to be realized over a wide range of bit rates. In this paper, we present an algorithm to improve the update step of MCTF, which serves as an important informative step for the coding performance of SVC. A novel update-step algorithm, which takes advantage of the chrominance information of the video sequence and the correlation of the motion vectors (MVs) of the neighboring blocks as well as the correlation of the derived update MVs in the low-pass frames, is proposed to improve update step of MCTF by (1) computing correct update motion information, (2) generating correct amount of energy contained in the high-pass frames. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly improve the quality of the reconstructed video sequence in visual quality.
