Forecasting Canadian nuclear power station construction costs

Because of the huge volume of capital required to construct a modern electric power generating station, investment decisions have to be made with as complete an understanding of the consequences of the decision as possible. This understanding must be provided by the evaluation of future situations. A key consideration in an evaluation is the financial component. This paper attempts to use an econometric method to forecast the construction costs escalation of a standard Canadian nuclear generating station (NGS). A brief review of the history of Canadian nuclear electric power is provided. The major components of the construction costs of a Canadian NGS are studied and summarized. A database is built and indexes are prepared. Based on these indexes, an econometric forecasting model is constructed using an apparently new econometric methodology of forecasting modelling. Forecasts for a period of 40 years are generated and applications (such as alternative scenario forecasts and range forecasts) to uncertainty assessment and/or decision-making are demonstrated. The indexes, the model, and the forecasts and their applications, to the best of the author's knowledge, are the first for Canadian NGS constructions.     

Heat loss and thermoelectric generator design

With the object of evaluating its importance to thermoelectric generator design, heat loss is introduced into the standard thermoelectric generator design theory. The theory for both the constant hot and cold junction temperatures model and the constant heat input model are so modified. The modification is first order and, therefore, is limited to small leg heat-transfer coefficients. Numerical results using representative properties show that significant differences can exist between the optimum geometry and performance of a generator idealized as lossless and those of a generator designed by the modified theory. The largest differences occur with the constant heat input model.     

BINELOCA 程序与广东岭澳核电站大破口失水事故分析

ＢＩＮＥＬＯＣＡ程序是在吸收国外先进大破口失水事故分析计算机程序的基础上，针对我国现有大破口失水事故分析程序的不足和工程应用方面的问题，采用了一些成熟的、新型的和当今国际公认的瞬态热工水力数学物理模型以及水和蒸汽性质参数计算公式改编而成的大破口失水事故分析程序。通过对广东岭澳核电站大破口失水事故的计算表明，ＢＩＮＥＬＯＣＡ程序计算的结果与法国计算的结果是一致的。     

堆底熔穿事故的场外后果及其对策

在压水堆核电站应急计划和应急响应中，堆底熔穿事故占有重要位置。本文用法国核电厂事故源项Ｓ３（对应于堆底熔穿事故）计算了在典型气象条件下的场外放射学的后果，根据一般防护决策原则和我国颁布的干预水平，提出了保护公众的应急防护措施的建议。     

The magnetic applications choice among ferrite ceramics,metallic strips,or metal powder cores

Iron-based metallic strip materials such as iron, silicon-iron, and amorphous metal are used for low frequency (50–60 Hz. line) power applications. Low-loss Nickel-based alloys as high permeability strip or insulated powder cores are the choices for stable, low-level higher frequency applications. Iron-based powder cores offer low cost as power supply filter chokes. Ceramic ferrites combine highest frequency operation with low cost and reduced component size as transformers and chokes in telecommunication and high frequency power supply applications.     

圆盘式高速金属冷锯机锯切功率的实验研究

对１６００圆盘式高速金属冷锯机进行了锯切功率的实验研究。对某厂四种有代表性的产品，用不同的进锯速度，实测每种条件下的锯切功率变化，和最大瞬时锯切功率与平均锯切功率之比。并以实测数据为基础，得出每种产品以进锯速度为自变量的平均锯切功率回归公式。这些工作，不仅可以为这种冷锯机锯切功率的理论研究提供依据，还可直接为使用和设计这种冷锯机给出具体参考数据。     

A calibration method for the energy-integrating function in photovoltaic system monitoring

Solar radiation has an irregularly varying factor due to a basic day and night cycle and climatic conditions. For such conditions a data sampling interval is important to ensure the accuracy of energy monitoring in a photovoltaic system. While treating a system monitoring equipment as a black box. the author has developed the method of calibrating an energy-integrating function. At first for various input waveforms, the relationship between sampling intervals and quasi-integration outputs have been examined by trapezoidal rule. In the numerical simulation the phases of the sampling clock also are considered Then it is concluded that a sampling interval can be inspected through outside observation only by using a rectangular single pulse. By applying the pulse to the energy-integrating process, two kinds of integrated outputs can be obtained for different sampling phases. The calculated difference between both outputs can uniquely give the sampling interval being inspected. Conditions to ensure measuring accuracy are discussed and the validity of this method has been demonstrated experimentally. Practical calibrating procedures also are proposed for the integrating function of PV system monitoring.

Authority updating: An expert authority evaluation algorithm considering post‐evaluation and power indices in social networks

In group assessment, the focus is on finding high‐authority experts to improve the reliability of assessment results. In this study, we propose an authority updating algorithm while considering the power and judgement reliability of an expert on the basis of social networks and post‐evaluations. A network power index is established and used to reflect the power of an expert while considering social networks. The measurement of the judgement reliability of an expert considers the post‐evaluation of the objects selected by experts, thereby more scientifically reflecting the reliability of experts. The analysis shows the following: although the social‐network structure influences the authority of experts, the influence weakens when the assessment group is a highly or even fully connected group; the network effect may increase the authority of some experts and reduce that of others, and it will weaken as the network connectivity increases; moreover, the judgement reliability and authority of an expert while considering post‐evaluation can encourage him/her to make fair assessments and strive to reduce his/her motivation and cognitive biases.
