In this work, effect of glass composition as well as ceramization on visible and near-infrared (NIR) luminescence properties along with their decay dynamics of Er3+ ions has been compared considering two different oxyfluoride glasses yielding BaF2 and BaGdF5 nanocrystals. Both the glass systems have exhibited an intense normal and upconversion green emission under ultraviolet (378 nm) and NIR (978 nm) excitations, respectively. A remarkable enhancement of these emission intensities is observed for gadolinium-(Gd) containing glasses. Interestingly, NIR fluorescence intensity from Er3+ ions at 1540 nm has showed marginal decrease in gadolinium-containing glass which is attributed to occurrence of strong excited-state absorption (ESA) due to higher fluorine content ensuing an augmentation of upconversion green emission with a concomitant decrease in NIR emission. The quadratic dependence of upconversion green emission intensity on its pump power for all the samples revealed biphotonic absorption process from ground-state 4I15/2 to the excited-state 4I11/2 followed by ESA of second photon to the 4F7/2 level. The intense green upconversion emission as well as enhanced NIR fluorescence lifetimes indicate the suitability of these glass/glass ceramics for upconversion lasers and amplification in the third telecom window. 相似文献

Well-dispersed concentrated aqueous suspensions of Al2O3-doped Y-TZP (AY-TZP), AY-TZP with 5.4 vol% of CaO–P2O5–SiO2 (CaPSi) glass (AY-TZP5) and 10.5 vol% CaPSi glass (AY-TZP10), with ammonium polyacrylate (NH4PA) dispersant were prepared to produce slip cast compacts. The rheological properties of 35 and 40 vol% slips were studied. The densification, microstructure as well as hardness and fracture toughness were investigated as a function of CaPSi glass content at 1300°C-1500°C. The optimum NH4PA concentration of 35 vol% AY-TZP5 and AY-TZP10 slips at pH ~9 was found to be about 43% and 67% greater than that of AY-TZP slips; this behavior was related to the greater amounts of Ca2+ ions leached out from the CaPSi glass surface. The viscosity of stabilized 40 vol% slips with NH4PA attained a minimum value at 5.4 vol% CaPSi glass addition, and resulted in a more dense packing of cast samples. AY-TZP5 can be sintered at a lower temperature (1300°C) compared to that of AY-TZP. AY-TZP5 exhibited a fine microstructure of tetragonal ZrO2 (grain sizes below 0.3 µm), and ZrSiO4–Ca2P2O7 particles homogeneously distributed within the zirconia matrix. The homogeneous Yb3+/Al3+/B3+-co-doped silica glasses were prepared via a sol-gel method. The impact of B2O3 addition on the physical and optical properties and network structure was systematically studied. The network structure was investigated by the Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Raman spectra, and Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (SSNMR). Herein, B2O3 addition can continuously decrease the refractive index and density. When B2O3 is lower than 2 mol%, B2O3 addition can obviously decrease the scalar crystal field parameters, Yb3+ asymmetry degree, Yb3+ cross-sections, due to the generation of Yb–O–B bonds at the cost of partial Yb–O–Al/Si ones. When B2O3 is more than 2 mol%, FT-IR, Raman spectra, and SSNMR results indicate that further increased B atoms prefer to connect with Si and Al rather than Yb. Consequently, the above parameters are basically unchanged. Based on the results, an intuitive model of structure and properties evolution during the substitution of SiO2 by B2O3 has been established. 相似文献

Er3+-doped CaF2 transparent ceramics are promising mid-infrared gain materials because of their utra-low phonon energy as well as excellent physical, chemical, and optical properties. However, existing hot-pressed and hot-formed CaF2 ceramics are very difficult to be used in practical applications due to residual pores and weak polycrystallization, respectively. Here, we developed the high quality Er3+-doped CaF2 transparent polycrystalline ceramic by single crystal ceramization. The sample exhibits obvious polycrystalline structure, good mechanical properties, perfectly transmittance, and excellent mid-infrared performance, which provides significant and wide-ranging opportunities for advanced mid-infrared gain materials. 相似文献

Photoluminescence (PL) properties of PbSe and Sr2+-doped PbSe quantum dots (QDs) doped in silicate glasses were investigated by changing the excited laser wavelength and intensity. When BaO was replaced by SrO, the Sr2+-doped PbSe QDs formed and showed large blue-shifts in both absorption and PL bands compared to the PbSe QDs. It is attributed to the increasing in band gap resulted by the incorporation of Sr2+ ions into PbSe QDs. These two kinds of QDs were excited by the laser with the wavelengths of 1319 and 1532 nm. When rising the pumping intensity up to 1000 mW, the PL intensity from Sr2+-doped PbSe QDs monotonically increased, while, the PL intensity from PbSe QDs reached maximum at pumping intensity at ~200 mW (λex = 1319 nm) and ~300 mW (λex = 1532 nm). The good resistance to photodarkening of Sr2+-doped PbSe QDs is indicated passivation effect on the surface defects from Sr2+ ions doping. For Sr2+-doped PbSe QDs the anti-Stokes photoluminescence (ASPL) were observed when using both 1319 and 1532 nm excitation. The integrated intensity of the ASPL is linear with the excitation intensity, which indicates that the ASPL belongs to the phonon-assisted one-photon process. And the ASPL intensity as a function of excitation intensity shows a size dependence of the QDs. 相似文献

本文采用熔融法和热处理制备了Co2+掺杂的ZnO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2(ZMAS)系透明微晶玻璃,基于X射线衍射的结果确定了微晶玻璃的主要晶相为ZnAl2O4/MgAl2O4,并且随着晶化处理时间的增加,微晶玻璃的物相构成没有发生明显变化,尖晶石相的结晶度和平均晶粒尺寸呈现先增大后减小的趋势。吸收光谱和发射光谱的结果表明Co2+进入了尖晶石相ZnAl2O4/MgAl2O4中,并取代了四面体位置(Td)的Zn2+或Mg2+。随着晶化处理时间的增加,样品的吸收光谱强度和发射光谱强度均呈现先升高后降低的趋势,这与X射线衍射结果的变化趋势一致,说明可以通过控制微晶玻璃的结晶度来调控光学性能,这对制备性能优良的微晶玻璃材料具有一定的指导意义。对比了采用不同价态Co的氧化物原料制备的微晶玻璃,结果表明无论是掺杂CoO还是Co2O3,微晶玻璃尖晶石相中的Co元素均以Co2+形式存在。此外,将所制备的微晶玻璃材料在1 540 nm处的基态吸收截面(σgas)同Co掺杂的其他基体材料进行了对比,发现它有望作为可饱和吸收体应用于调Q激光器中。 相似文献

A second phase of Y2O3-stabilized Bi2O3 (Bi0.75Y0.25O1.5,YSB) is introduced into Y2O3-doped CeO2 (Ce0.8Y0.2O1.9,YDC) as a sintering additive and the composite ceramics of YDC-xYSB (x = 0, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 wt%) are prepared through sintering at 1100°C for 6 h in air atmosphere. The YDC-xYSB ceramics are composed of both YDC and YSB with cubic fluorite structure, and no other impurity phases are detected in XRD patterns. The relative density of YDC-xYSB rises firstly for x ≤5 wt%, and then it declines with YSB addition from 5 to 40 wt%. The average grain size of YDC decreases from 270 nm to 85.7 nm with YSB addition from 0 to 40 wt%. The YSB phase segregates at the grain boundaries of YDC based on the TEM analysis result. The ionic conductivity of YDC-xYSB (x ≥5 wt%) is lower than that of YDC in the test temperature of 200°C–500°C, while it gradually exceeds that of YDC in 500°C–750°C. At 750°C, the conductivity of YDC-30%YSB (6.22 × 10−2 S/cm) is 1.35 times higher than that of YDC (4.6 × 10−2 S/cm). The YSB addition can improve the ionic conductivity of YDC in 500°C–750°C and decrease its sintering temperature. 相似文献

Y-TZP (YZ) and Al2O3-doped Y-TZP (AYZ) bioceramics with addition of different contents of a refractory bioglass were fabricated. The influence of the glass addition and sintering temperature on the densification behavior, microstructure, and mechanical properties of YZ and AYZ was studied. The developed ceramics contained small amounts of ZrSiO4 and Ca2P2O7 phases within the ZrO2 matrix. The incorporation of glass to YZ promoted the ZrO2 phase partitioning and enhanced the ZrO2 grain growth at all the sintering temperatures, whereas the glass addition in AYZ prevented the Y2O3 redistribution between ZrO2 grains and limited the ZrO2 grain growth at 1300–1400°C. The hardness of the samples with glass was not significantly altered by using either YZ or AYZ. A slight increase in the fracture toughness with increasing glass content was found for YZ, while the fractured toughness of AYZ decreased by the glass addition. The more pronounced ZrO2 phase partitioning of YZ with glass decreased the flexural strength, whereas AYZ maintained almost unaltered its flexural strength at a high level by the glass incorporation. 相似文献
