Hemispheric contributions to nonverbal abstract reasoning and problem solving.

Hemispheric involvement in reasoning abilities has been debated for some time, and it remains unclear whether the right hemisphere's involvement in problem solving is modality specific or dependent on the type of spatial reasoning required. In the current study, 2 types of nonverbal reasoning abilities were examined, spatial reasoning and proportional reasoning, in 109 patients with cerebrovascular disease that was confined to either the right or the left hemisphere or was diffuse in nature. Results indicated that no lateralizing effects were present based on type of spatial reasoning. Findings are consistent with the suggestion that higher order cognitive processes involved in nonverbal abstraction and problem solving are not strongly lateralized to the right hemisphere but rather are more generally distributed throughout the cortex. The State of the Art in Text Filtering

This paper develops a conceptual framework for text filtering practice and research, and reviews present practice in the field. Text filtering is an information seeking process in which documents are selected from a dynamic text stream to satisfy a relatively stable and specific information need. A model of the information seeking process is introduced and specialized to define text filtering. The historical development of text filtering is then reviewed and case studies of recent work are used to highlight important design characteristics of modern text filtering systems. User modeling techniques drawn from information retrieval, recommender systems, machine learning and other fields are described. The paper concludes with observations on the present state of the art and implications for future research on text filtering. Insight into the chemical reaction of CH2OH with NO: Formation of N-hydroxy formamide as an isocyanic acid precursor

This study has explored the potential energy surface on the chemical reaction of CH₂OH with NO by using ab initio calculation. We have found the new reaction pathway producing N-hydroxy formamide, which can further decompose to generate isocyanic acid as a reducing agent of hydrocarbons selective catalytic reduction.

A simple SCC specimen incorporating heat transfer with a crevice or deposits

A simple stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) specimen, suitable for slow strain rate testing and incorporating heat transfer, with an artificial crevice or deposits has been designed and tested. It appears that when the solute level is above a certain value it can concentrate. The kinetics of solute accumulation and the concentration that can be induced in the specimen have been determined. Build up of solute from the ppm level in the bulk environment to the level required to cause cracking can take hours, not days or years. The limiting concentration reached is controlled by thermodynamics, specifically the available superheat. A brief review of relevant literature suggests that this experimental approach to predicting SCC has significant advantages over a modelling or measurement approach. The specimen also lends itself to a monitoring role--a modern version of the Schroeder embrittlement detector.     

广西天等贫氧化锰矿石的选矿试验研究

天等锰矿石属高硅、低磷贫氧化锰矿石，矿物结晶粒度微细。选矿试验中进行了洗矿、强磁和重选流程研究，试验结果表明，洗矿效果较好，当原矿含锰１６．８５％，经一段洗矿后，可获得含锰２９．７７％，锰回收率为８６．２７％的锰净矿。     

注高温热水管线缓蚀,阻垢实验研究

针对辽河油田高凝油区块注高温热水(85—95℃)引起的腐蚀、结垢,开展了室内和现场缓蚀、阻垢试验;分析了不同温度下注水的腐蚀情况,对比、考察了不同的缓蚀剂、阻垢剂及其复配物,得出了如下认识:在注高温热水条件下直接采用常温下使用的防腐蚀、防垢方法是不可行的,必须有针对性地进行高温条件下防腐蚀、防垢的实验研究工作。
