As software development comes to be viewed more and more as an engineering discipline, Software Configuration Management is increasingly recognised as a key technology in the development of software. The Esprit VISCOUNT project1 aim is to implement an innovative Software Configuration Management (SCM) tool to use in a geographically distributed software development environment, a Virtual Software Corporation (VSC). The features implemented by the tool will be the following: ·Configurable process modelling ·Inter-working capabilities with COTS SCM tools ·Selective replication of archives ·Open to include plug-in applications (security mechanism, encryption, etc) This paper is based on the work undertaken as part of the VISCOUNT project, partially funded by European Union's Esprit Programme, and it describes the SIA (Societa' Italiana Avionica) requirements defined in the framework of VISCOUNT. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is an excellent oxidant carrier that finds its use in combustion and fuel applications. In the present study, H2O2 (30% assay) is used as an emulsifier in waste cooking oil biodiesel blend (B20) and the emissions and performance in a compression ignition engine are assessed. Along with the neat B20, three blends of B20 with 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% H2O2 concentrations are used. Increasing the concentration of H2O2 beyond 1.5% resulted in vapor lock in the fuel pump leading to a loss in injection pressure. An increase in the exhaust gas temperature was recorded with the increase in H2O2 concentration due to improved fuel properties, like, cetane number, thermal conductivity, and microexplosions of fuel droplets. However, NOx emissions decreased mainly due to the presence of the hydroperoxyl group from H2O2. Analysis of variance was also carried out to assess the statistical significance of H2O2 on the responses and is seen that the maximum impact of H2O2 was positively influencing brake thermal efficiency (BTE), brake-specific fuel consumption (BSFC), hydrocarbon (HC), and NOx. Compared with the B20 blend, H2O2 emulsified fuel with a concentration of 1.5% showed a substantial reduction of 53.7%, 28.6%, 14.2%, and 16.2% in the average emissions of CO, HC, smoke, and NOx, respectively. Similarly, 7.9% and 7.1% improvement in the BTE and BSFC is obtained. However, more studies are required to ascertain the NOx reduction mechanism and address issues of fuel vaporization at higher concentrations of H2O2.  相似文献

AimsThe primary aim of the present study was to understand the impact of online gambling on gambling problems in a large-scale nationally representative sample of Italian youth, and to identify and then further examine a subgroup of online gamblers who reported higher rates of gambling problems.DesignData from the ESPAD®Italia2013 (European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs) Study were used for analyses of adolescent Internet gambling.SettingSelf-administered questionnaires were completed by a representative sample of high school students, aged 15–19 years.ParticipantsA total of 14,778 adolescent students.MeasurementsRespondents’ problem gambling severity; gambling behavior (participation in eight different gambling activities, the number of gambling occasions and the number of online gambling occasions, monthly gambling expenditure); Socio-demographics (e.g., family structure and financial status); and control variables were measured individually (i.e., use of the Internet for leisure activities and playing video games).FindingsRates of problem gambling were five times higher among online gamblers than non-online gamblers. In addition, factors that increased the risk of becoming a problem online gambler included living with non-birth parents, having a higher perception of financial family status, being more involved with gambling, and the medium preferences of remote gamblers (e.g., Internet cafes, digital television, and video game console).ConclusionsThe online gambling environment may pose significantly greater risk to vulnerable players. Family characteristics and contextual elements concerning youth Internet gambling (e.g., remote mediums) may play a key role in explaining problem online gambling among adolescents.  相似文献

Emissions related to wood production processes are a recognized health hazard for professionally exposed subjects. The health effects of living close to wood industries are not known, particularly in the pediatric population. We aimed at investigating if living close to chipboard industries is a health hazard for the children in the Viadana district (Northern Italy).In December 2006, all the children (3-14 years) living in the Viadana district, where two big chipboard industries are located, were surveyed through a parental questionnaire (n = 3854). The children were geocoded, and the distance of their houses/schools from the closest wood plant was computed.Independently of sex, age, nationality, residential area, traffic, parents' education, passive/parental smoking, questionnaire compiler and his/her environmental concern, the children living at < 2 km from chipboard industries had a greater prevalence of respiratory (OR = 1.33, 95%CI: 1.11, 1.60), cough/phlegm (OR = 1.43, 95%CI: 1.08, 1.88), nose/throat/mouth (OR = 1.47, 95%CI: 1.23, 1.75), eye (OR = 1.24, 95%CI: 1.04, 1.48) symptoms, school-days lost (OR = 1.24, 95%CI: 1.04, 1.48), and emergency (OR = 2.14, 95%CI: 1.47, 3.11) and hospital (OR = 2.21, 95%CI: 1.17, 4.18) admissions. There was an inverse dose-response relationship between the adverse health outcomes considered and the distance from the plants. The attributable fractions for the children living close to the chipboard industries were substantial, ranging from 13% (eye symptoms) to 27% (cough/phlegm).The present findings suggest that emissions from chipboard industries might have a serious impact on children's health status and should therefore be reduced and closely monitored.  相似文献

The effect of 2‐(2‐heptadec‐8‐enyl‐4,5‐dihydro‐imidazol‐1‐yl)‐ethylamine on the corrosion behavior of mild steel in aqueous hydrochloric acid was investigated using weight loss measurements, polarization scans, electrochemical impedance, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The inhibition efficiencies and coverage degrees increased with the concentration of inhibitor but decreased proportionally with temperature. It appears that the steric hindrance of the aliphatic chain on the imidazoline ring adsorption may affect inhibitor efficiency. Polarization curves showed that the oleic imidazoline (OI) acted essentially as a mixed type inhibitor, in which the blocking of active sites occurred. As a result of film formation, impedance spectra revealed a considerable increase in the charge transfer resistance as indicated by the second capacitive loop. XPS depth profile analysis observed the presence of nitrogen and carbon species on the inhibitor film, which were associated to the OI.  相似文献

Most of the studies on conventional fuel types that can be used in internal combustion engines have been made in order to improve performance values. Nowadays environmental problems have shown that emission values are more important and interest in low carbon alternative fuels has highly increased in recent years. In this study, performance and emission values of soybean biodiesel (B25) fuel mixture used in diesel engine were investigated in detail by making different ratios of hydroxy (HHO) enrichment (3, 5 and 7 L/min). HHO enrichments increased brake torque and power outputs with direct correlation to flow rate amount; at the same time brake specific fuel consumption has decreased. Also, one of the main objectives of this study is to predict the optimum hydrogen requirement against performance reductions and NOx formations among test fuels (3, 5, and 7 L/min HHO enriched B25), too by using artificial intelligence. For developing the ANN structure, Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) learning algorithm was used to adjust the weights in the cascade forward network. The results show that the ANN model has 95,82%, 96,07%, and 92,35% estimation accuracies for motor torque, motor power, and NOx emission, respectively.  相似文献

The utilization of plastics has increased in packing sectors consistently, which lead indirectly to increased volumes of plastic wastes posing an environmental threat. Several utilization and recycling techniques of waste plastics are being practiced commercially around the world. In this article, recent conversion techniques of fuel oil from waste plastics and its utilization on a compression‐ignition engine are discussed. Recent statistics says most of the plastic wastes are generated from packing industries that contains polyethylene, polypropylene. In this connection, conversion techniques of polyethylene and polypropylene practiced frequently by researchers include catalytic processing, thermal degradation, and co‐processing. The effect of various parameters like catalysts, reaction temperature, and reaction time of the aforementioned conversion techniques are discussed in this review. Also, few research works about the utilization of waste plastic oil with a compression‐ignition engine along with engine performance and emissions in various blends of diesel with plastic oil are highlighted here.
