For the apparent kinetics of the carbonation reaction of calcium oxide by carbon dioxide, as a kind of noncatalytic gas–solid reaction, a model equation has been proposed as follows: X=kbt/(b+t), where X is the conversion of CaO; k, a kinetic rate constant (time−1); b, a constant (time) equivalent to the time taken to attain half the ultimate conversion of CaO, and t, the time. As a result of analyses for some literature-reported data of CaO-carbonation conversion, it has been found that the rate of the carbonation can be well represented by dX/dt=k(1−X/Xu)2, where Xu is the ultimate conversion of CaO, which is given by the product of two parametric constants, k and b. The constants k and b in the two rate control regimes of CaO-carbonation, chemical reaction control and diffusion control, have been determined as functions of temperature, respectively. The activation energy in the carbonation of surface CaO with CO2 is estimated to about 72 kJ/mol regardless of the sources of CaO, however, that in the diffusion control regime appears differently as 102.5 (mesoporous CaO) or 189.3 kJ/mol (commercial-available CaO), possibly due to the morphological differences of the two CaO samples. From a practical point of view, the simple model equation proposed in this study deserves attention in that the CaO-carbonation behavior at working temperatures higher than 700 °C could be closely predicted. 相似文献

The sorption equilibrium of dissolved copper by spherical partially-coagulated gels of calcium alginate was investigated in this work. The gels were formed by dispensing a viscous algin (food grade sodium alginate from kelp) solution with a multi-tip dispenser into 0.05 M CaCl2 solution in a loop fluidized bed reactor. The resultant semi-rigid spherical gels were then transferred to another reactor operated batch wise to absorb dissolved copper at low concentrations (10-40 ppm). When the concentration of the inert neutral salt NaNO3, added to the reactor fluid was 0.01 M, the amount of copper absorbed was found to be substantially higher than that at 0.1 MNaN03. The conventional Langmuir's model based on the concentration of copper in solution yielded different values of conditional stability constant at different ionic strengths in the reactor fluid. However, by defining the copper-binding stability constant on the basis of copper activity in the gel phase with the competition from calcium for metal binding sites taken into account, a unique copper-binding stability constant and a unique calcium-binding stability constant were obtained. In cement industry, a great energy consumption has been observed during grinding of clinker. To reduce this consumption, some waste products have been used as grinding aids.In this investigation, the effects of sunflower oil (SO), oleic acid (OA), stearic acid (SA), myristic acid (MA) and lauric acid (LA) on the fineness and strength of the cement have been examined. These aids were added into clinker in certain ratios based on the cement clinker weight and the grinding has been done for a definite time at the same condition.All of the fatty acids used increased the fineness as compared with the cement without the grinding additives. SO and OA decreased the strength significantly, LA decreased it to a lesser extent and SA increased it definitely according to the common cement. But MA did not alter the strength of the cement as much as SA. In addition, the covering of the balls influences the grinding of cement clinker unfavourably. 相似文献

Studies were undertaken to produce reactive pozzolana i.e. metakaolin from four kaolinitic clays collected from different sources in India. The metakaolin produced from these clays at 700-800 °C show lime reactivity in between 10.5 to 11.5 N/mm2 which is equivalent to commercially available calcined clay Metacem-85. The microstructure of the metakaolin has been reported. The effect of addition of metakaolin up to 25% in the Portland cement mortars was investigated. An increase in compressive strength and decrease of porosity and pore diameter of cement mortars containing metakaolin (10%) was noted over the cement mortars without metakaolin. The hydration of metakaolin blended cement mortars was investigated by differential thermal analysis (DTA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The major hydraulic products like C-S-H and C4AH13 have been identified. Durability of the cement mortars with and without metakaolin was examined in different sulphate solutions. 新绛威顿水泥有限责任公司有拥1条1000t/d熟料的新型干法水泥生产线。因其所用燃煤w(SO3)较高,矿点杂,导致熟料中w(SO3)普遍较高且波动较大。文章以2002年~2004年生产数据为依据,对该厂熟料中SO3量高低对水泥性能的影响进行了归纳和分析,发现随着熟料中SO3量的增多,熟料凝结时间缩短,28d抗压强度有所增加,3d抗压强度基本无影响。所以,当熟料中SO3量变化较大时,要相应调整水泥中SO3的加入量,以保证水泥凝结时间的正常。 相似文献

Acid rain is an important consequence of pollutants generated by modern industrial societies and is known to cause damage to ecological systems, construction materials and cultural artifacts. The assessment of the damage caused to paint films has included laboratory, exposure chamber, and exterior weathering experiments. This study uses visual assessment of paints applied directly to southern yellow pine and exposed at 30° south to either natural acid rain or deionized water spray sites in North Carolina and Ohio to determine damage by acid rain. An acrylic latex paint with a pigment volume concentration (PVC) of 52 and a volume solids (VS) of 35% was formulated with calcium carbonate or sodium potassium alumino-silicate extenders. This high PVC paint formulation is one known to stress the binding capacity of the latex and thus produce early grain cracking failures over bare wood. Major effects observed include severe yellowing and increased mildewing of the carbonate containing paints exposed to acid rain. While acid rain can damage exterior paints, much of the damage can be minimized by careful selection of the polymers and pigments used in the formulation. 相似文献
