Gas phase axial dispersion characteristics were determined in a molten salt oxidation reactor (air-molten sodium carbonate salt two phase system). The effects of the gas velocity (0.05–0.22 m/s) and molten salt bed temperature (870–970 °C) on the gas phase axial dispersion coefficient were studied. The amount of axial gas-phase dispersion was experimentally evaluated by means of residence time distribution (RTD) experiments using an inert gas tracer (CO). The experimentally determined RTD curves were interpreted by using the axial dispersions model, which proved to be a suitable means of describing the axial mixing in the gas phase. The results indicated that the axial dispersion coefficients exhibited an asymptotic value with increasing gas velocity due to the plug-flow like behavior in the higher gas velocity. Temperature had positive effects on the gas phase dispersion. The effect of the temperature on the dispersion intensity was interpreted in terms of the liquid circulation velocity using the drift-flux model.  相似文献

The consequences of the oil rejected by the compressor of a vapour-compression refrigeration system on the operation of the evaporator and condenser are analysed. The modelled prototype uses the mixture of HFC R410A and a synthetic polyolester (POE) oil. The rise of the amount of lubricant circulating in the system leads to a progressive change in the behaviour of the mixture of refrigerant and oil that, for the higher oil mass fraction, evolves like a zeotropic mixture. One also observes that the presence of lubricant is generally associated with a fall of the performances of the heat exchangers, except however in the evaporator where an optimum is observed when the quantity of oil is equal to 0.1% of the total mass of the mixture. Some conclusions are drawn about the choice of correlations for the calculation of the refrigerant side heat transfer coefficient in a plate evaporator.  相似文献

The statistical characteristics of wind speed data recorded at nine buoys, located in Ionian and Aegean Sea (Eastern Mediterranean) are analyzed in this paper, in order to present a more accurate method for estimation of wind speed characteristics, according to the suitability of the probability distribution functions (pdf). This article has focussed on wind regimes that present nearly zero percentages of null wind speeds. The selected distributions for examination are the typical two-parameter Weibull wind speed distribution (W-pdf) and the two-component mixture Weibull distribution (WW-pdf), involving five parameters (two shape parameters, two scale parameters, and one proportionality parameter).  相似文献

A multilayer two-dimensional model of beef carcass chilling using CFD-generated heat transfer coefficients was used to calculate the parameters of leg and shoulder cooling curves, assuming an exponential cooling model. A central composite experiment was designed to systematically vary air velocity, side weight and fat thickness. Comparison with experimental data suggests that the predicted characteristic time for the leg, and hence the cooling time to a given temperature, should be multiplied by a correction factor 1.07. The effects of airflow direction and of radiation heat transfer have been quantified. A correlation was proposed to estimate leg centre temperature from shoulder temperature. The shortcut formulae and methods presented here will be useful in the design and troubleshooting of industrial beef chillers. They could also be used in Monte Carlo simulations where a large number of samples are considered, to take into account random variations in product characteristics and operating conditions.  相似文献

For the purpose of finding out the optimal thickness of sound absorber and the sound absorption effects due to the selected thickness at an interested frequency range, the analytical study identifies the interior and exterior sound field characteristics of a rectangular enclosure with foamed aluminum lining and the experimental verification is performed with random noise input. By using a two-microphone impedance tube, we measure experimentally the absorption coefficient and the impedance of simple sound absorbing materials. Measured acoustical parameters of the test samples are applied to the theoretical analysis to predict sound pressure field in the cavity. The sound absorption effects from measurements are compared to predicted ones in both cases with and without foamed aluminum lining in the cavity of the rectangular enclosure.  相似文献

The efficacy of an alternative to conventional diamond conditioning in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) was evaluated in this study. The high pressure micro jet (HPMJ) system sprays ultra-pure water (UPW) at pressures ranging from 10 to 20 MPa onto a CMP pad to clean the pad of slurry residue, remove embedded slurry particles, and re-establish pad asperities. The system is employed in an ex situ fashion and is compared to in situ and ex situ diamond conditioning as well as using no conditioning. Real-time frictional force acquisition allows for coefficient of friction (COF) analysis, which indicates the extent of pad wear. Removal rate analysis, SEM imagery, and pad surface profilometry are also used to evaluate HPMJ as an alternative conditioning technology. Removal rates significantly lower than those associated with diamond conditioning are obtained for the HPMJ system when UPW conditioning is directly followed by polishing. SEM imagery and pad profilimetry indicate these low HPMJ removal rates are due to differences in pad surface chemistry, not pad surface topography. Experiments including a 30 s silicon wafer polish with slurry following HPMJ conditioning to re-establish pad surface chemistry were performed and result in removal rates that are comparable to those obtained using ex situ conditioning. The removal rates obtained using HPMJ conditioning for relative wafer-platen velocities of 0.31 and 0.62 m/s are 8 and 1% higher than those obtained using ex situ diamond conditioning and 18% lower than those obtained using ex situ diamond conditioning for 0.93 m/s. The average COF values for HPMJ conditioning using the intermediate silicon wafer polishes are 15% lower than average COF values associated with ex situ diamond conditioning, suggesting a possible increase in pad life for the HPMJ system.  相似文献

The metal hydride heat transformer shows great potential for the low-grade heat recovery. However, the heat output is variable, and these dynamics have to be taken into account in realistic applications. In this paper, a new index called true temperature boost is introduced together with conventional indices to assess the performance of the heat transformer system. Detailed analyses are carried out using a mathematical model that authors developed, investigating effects of key design and operating factors on the system’s performance. The amount of hydrogen transferred between coupled reactors is found to be crucial to obtain a high coefficient of performance, while specific heating power is very sensitive to the cycle time. On the true temperature boost, the driving force of reaction and the heat transfer conditions exert the most significant effects.  相似文献

A methodology was developed to characterise the heat exchangers' performance decrease due to two-phase flow maldistribution. It consists in measuring the spatial distribution of the local heat transfer coefficients with a rapid, non-invasive and fluid independent method. The method is based on the infrared (IR) thermography measurement of the temperature response to an oscillating heat flux. The amplitude of the measured temperatures is compared to the solution of an analytical model. The problem is solved iteratively to obtain the heat transfer coefficients. This method has been applied to evaluate the uneven phase distribution of an air–water mixture in a compact heat exchanger. The exchanger is composed of seven multiport flat tubes, a vertical downward header and horizontal channels. Experiments were performed for mass flux from 29 kg m−2 s−1 to 116 kg m−2 s−1 and for quality from 0.10 to 0.70.  相似文献
