In the present study, transverse vibrations of nanobeams with manifold concentrated masses, resting on Winkler elastic foundations, are investigated. The model is based on the theory of nonlocal elasticity in the presence of concentrated masses applied to Euler–Bernoulli beams. A closed-form expression for the transverse vibration modes of Euler–Bernoulli beams is presented. The proposed expressions are provided explicitly as the function of two integrated constants, which are determined by the standard boundary conditions. The utilization of the boundary conditions leads to definite terms of natural frequency equations. The natural frequencies and vibration modes of the concerned nanobeams with different numbers of concentrated masses in different positions under some typical boundary conditions (simply supported, cantilevered, and clamped–clamped) have been analyzed by means of the proposed closed–form expressions in order to show their efficiency. It is worth mentioning that the effect of various nonlocal length parameters and Winkler modulus on natural frequencies and vibration modes are also discussed. Results of the behavior of pultruded fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) I-shaped beams subjected to concentrated loads in the plane of the web are presented. Twenty beams with nominal depths from 152.4 to 304.8?mm were tested in three-point bending with a span-to-depth ratio of four. Load was applied to the top flange directly above the web—12 without bearing plates and 8 with bearing plates of varying width and thickness. All test specimens failed with a wedgelike shear failure at the upper web-flange junction. Finite-element results support experimental findings from strain gauge and digital image correlation data. Bearing plates increased beam capacity by 35% or more as a function of bearing plate width and thickness. Bearing plates increased average shear stress in the web at failure from 17.4 to 27.2?MPa—below the accepted value of in-plane shear strength (69?MPa). A design equation is presented, and predicted capacities are compared with experimental results. The average value of experimental capacity to predicted capacity is 1.12 with a standard deviation of 0.11 and coefficient of variation (COV) of 0.10 for sections up to 304.8?mm deep. 相似文献

Hydrogen production can be achieved via combined concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) and concentrated solar power (CSP) in which concentrated radiation is spectrally split and then converted in a photovoltaic receiver and a thermal absorber. This study thus proposes an innovative solar process design integrating both thermal and quantum components of solar energy while providing a complete assessment of its global performance to demonstrate its practical interest. A stand-alone solar-to-hydrogen path was modeled and numerically simulated, which was both electrically and thermally supplied by a solar power generation unit to feed the electrolyzer power utilization unit with enhanced solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency. Following balance of plant (BoP), the heliostat field and cavity receiver were designed to match the entire system in which the receiver only intercepts a definite range of infrared wavelength while the rest is converted by separately insulated PV cells. Moreover, dichroic reflectors and optimum cutoff wavelength were applied to fulfill separate optimization and heat load reduction of each solar cell. Finally, the solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) was designed to utilize the generated thermal and electrical power appropriately. In best case scenario, a solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 36.5% was achieved under 899 W/m2 direct normal irradiance (DNI) and 1000 suns concentration. The solar plant outputs at this operating point were 850 g/h H2 and 6754 g/h O2. Further improvement in efficiency can be achieved through alignment in regard to the site location and annual insolation variation. 相似文献

The alloy world could be divided into low-entropy (LEAs), medium-entropy (MEAs) and high-entropy alloys (HEAs) based on the configurational entropy at the random solution state. In HEAs, four core effects, i.e. high entropy, sluggish diffusion, severe lattice distortion and cocktail effects, are much more significant than low-entropy alloys in affecting phase transformation, microstructure and properties. In fact, the degree of the influence from these core effects more or less increases with increased mixing entropy. The trend is gradual from low-entropy alloys to high-entropy alloys. In this article, physical metallurgy of HEAs is discussed with the bridge connected to that of conventional alloys. As disordered and ordered solid solutions are the main constituent phases of alloys, the understanding of solid solutions is fundamental for the understanding of alloys. In addition, as dilute solid solutions have been well treated in current physical metallurgy, concentrated solid solutions from low-entropy to high-entropy alloys are focused in this article.
