Tar in biomass product gas is a major problem because it reduces the reliability of the equipment and enhances pollutant emission. Partial oxidation is effective for reducing tar inside gasifiers. In order to predict tar reduction with partial oxidation technology, knowledge of the fate of tar during partial oxidation process is paramount.A continuous reactor was developed for tar destruction experiment under partial oxidation environment. Tar components and non-condensable gasses were measured and analyzed. Results show that the defined “primary tar” contents share about 60% of the total tar amounts. Phenolics prevail under initial reaction, but it is easy to form PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) by polymerization reactions under certain ER (actual mass flow rate of oxygen/oxygen required for complete oxidation of biomass feed stock). This process results in an increase of tertiary tar. Hydrogen's evolution curve shows a steep rise with ER, which could be an indicator for the crack of secondary tar. A model was developed for describing partial oxidation of tar. Phenol, toluene, benzene and naphthalene were chosen as model compounds. Fluid flow, chemical mechanism and heat transfer are considered in the model. The calculated total tar amounts are in qualitative agreement with experimental results. 相似文献

A laboratory scale study was conducted in order to investigate upflow granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration for the removal of aqueous ozone. The experimental results showed that fluidized bed GAC filtration operated at hydraulic loadings of 60 — 100 m/h is a promising process for the safe destruction of ozone residuals at the end of ozone contactors. The key parameters in terms of ozone destruction are empty bed contact time, the specific ozone destruction capability of the different GACs and the specific surface of the carbon. Ozone removal in such filters was well described with first order kinetics and external mass transfer was not limiting. Under given conditions in terms of ozone influent concentration, GAC granulometry, GAC density and bed depth, hydraulic loading and available headloss have to be traded off in order to design a well adapted and robust system. 相似文献

In this study, a large amount of toxic and reactive fluorine (F(2)) was produced in the atmospheric-pressure microwave discharge environment by adding additives to abate sulfur hexafluoride (SF(6)). When H(2) was added, the selectivity of F(2) was as high as 89.7% at inlet H(2)/SF(6) molar ratio (R(H2)) = 1. Moreover, the conversion of SF(6) significantly increased from 33.7% (without additive) to 97.7% (R(H2) = 5) at [SF(6)]=1%, and 0.8 kW because the addition of H(2) inhibited the recombination of SF(6). With the addition of O(2), H(2)+O(2) or H(2)O, the selectivity of F(2) was still greater than 81.2%, though toxic byproducts, including SO(2)F(2), SOF(2), SOF(4), SO(2), NO, and HF, were detected. From optical emission spectra, SF(2) was identified, revealing the SF(6) dissociation process might be carried out rapidly through an electron impaction reaction: SF(6)-->SF(2)+4F.
