Further comments on the internal structure of the MMPI.

The Shure and Rogers findings are examined in relation to other studies in which the factor structure of the MMPI basic scales obtained with actual data is compared to the structure based merely on item overlap among the scales. There is no direct experimental evidence that spurious correlations yield a "built-in" factor structure that is the direct cause of the structure obtained with experimental Ss in the 10 MMPI basic clinical scales. Hidden logistic potentials of working systems

Nowadays, the companies operate in a turbulent environment caused by various effects of global market, quick expansion of new products and production processes, fastidious customers and increased competition.In these circumstances only those companies are successful which can respond to market changes as fast as possible—i.e. they have the shortest response time regarding fulfilment of customer requirements (short delivery time and reliable delivery in addition to price and quality).Consequently, a reduction of mean inventory, range and lead time of working systems in the company is an ever increasing strategy that ensures an increase of growth and profit of the company.The article shows how the tools for modelling the flow of orders through working systems can be used in order to discover the hidden logistic potentials of working systems in a company.Presented are the results of finding hidden logistic potentials of working systems in the tool-production department of "ETI d.d." company from Izlake, Slovenia.     

A personality inventory employing occupational titles.

The hypothesis that "a useful personality inventory might be constructed from occupational or interest test content" was explored further with the Holland Vocational Preference Inventory. 10 scales survived cluster analysis, using 300 college freshmen, and to these were added masculinity-femininity, status, infrequency, and acquiescence scales. Estimated retest reliability after 4 months had a median of .75. Differentiation was obtained between matched control and psychiatric samples. A factor analysis of the Beck Inventory of Depression.

Afactor analysis of the Beck Inventory of Depression, based on the responses of 254 significantly depressed hospital patients, has yielded 3 interpretable factors. The largest factor was that of affective depression referred to here as a factor of "guilty depression." The 2 remaining factors were interpreted as "retarded depression" and "somatic disturbance." These 3 factors showed some correspondence to the factors found by other investigators. The suggestion is made that the etiology of various depressed states may be associated with different levels of mental functioning. Strategic, method, and stylistic variance in the MMPI.

"Strategic variance arises in the assessment of an S's communality with respect to a normative group on a dimension defined by contrast with a criterion group. Method variance is due to the idiosyncratic nature of the total item pool in regard to the proportion of true and false keyings and the distribution of item popularity values. (Stylistic variance includes dispositions to agree (acquiescence) or disagree (cautiousness) with neutral statements, independently of item content." A new technique for rapid item analysis.

A rapid method of item analysis designed for use with Hankes-type (or Testscor) answer sheets is described. Whereas the item analysis of 25 versus 25 MMPI protocols usually takes… from 15 to 20 hours… use of the new method… [requires]… only four to five hours. A factor analysis of the Wesley Rigidity Inventory: Its relationship to age and nonverbal intelligence.

The present research involved an item analysis of the Wesley Rigidity Inventory (1953) to determine its unidimensionality and the effect of age and intelligence. Factor analysis revealed orthogonally-related factors: rigidity in intellectual thinking, liking for established routine which was highly loaded with the factor of age, and a factor of appreciation of methodical behavior and details. 通过对直眼筒形掏槽爆破破岩机理的理论分析认为：在岩石条件和装药条件一定的情况下，影响槽腔内爆破大块的主要原因是相邻爆炸应力波的相互作用造成无拉应力区及拉应力降低区和孔间贯通裂隙导致爆炸能量过早逸散。
