In this research, the effects of torque tightening on the fatigue strength of 2024-T3 aluminium alloy double lap bolted joints have been studied via experimental and multiaxial fatigue analysis. To do so, three sets of the specimens were prepared and each subjected to different levels of torque i.e. 1, 2.5 and 5 N m and then fatigue tests were carried out at various cyclic longitudinal load levels. A non-linear finite element ANSYS code was used to obtain stress and strain distribution in the joint plates due to torque tightening of bolt and longitudinal applied loads. Fatigue lives of the specimens were estimated with six different multiaxial fatigue criteria by means of local stress and strain distribution obtained from finite element analysis. Multiaxial fatigue analysis and experimental results revealed that the fatigue life of double lap bolted joints were improved by increasing the clamping force due to compressive stresses which appeared around the hole.  相似文献

The geometry of cutting flutes and the surfaces of end mills is one of the crucial parameters affecting the quality of the machining in the case of end milling. These are usually represented by two-dimensional models. This paper describes in detail the methodology to model the geometry of a flat end mill in terms of three-dimensional parameters. The geometric definition of the end mill is developed in terms of surface patches; flutes as helicoidal surfaces, the shank as a surface of revolution and the blending surfaces as bicubic Bezier and biparametric sweep surfaces. The proposed model defines the end mill in terms of three-dimensional rotational angles rather than the conventional two dimensional angles. To validate the methodology, the flat end milling cutter is directly rendered in OpenGL environment in terms of three-dimensional parameters. Further, an interface is developed that directly pulls the proposed three-dimensional model defined with the help of parametric equations into a commercial CAD modeling environment. This facilitates a wide range of downstream technological applications. The modeled tool is used for finite element simulations to study the cutting flutes under static and transient dynamic load conditions. The results of stress distribution (von mises stress), translational displacement and deformation are presented for static and transient dynamic analysis for the end mill cutter flute and its body. The method described in this paper offers a simple and intuitive way of generating high-quality end mill models for use in machining process simulations. It can be easily extended to generate other tools without relying on analytical or numerical formulations.  相似文献

This study presents investigations regarding visual inspection, dynamic testing, and finite-element modeling of an approximately 80-year old reinforced concrete tied-arch railway bridge that is still in service in Turkey. Investigations were conducted as part of a systematic periodic inspection along Ankara-Zonguldak railway line. The bridge is subject to heavy freight trains with increasing axle loads. Field tests such as material tests and dynamic tests were used to calibrate the finite-element model of the bridge. Detailed information regarding testing and model updating procedure is given. Based on test results, computer model was refined. The calibrated model of the bridge structure was then used for structural assessment and evaluation. Despite sufficient overall safety, local details were found to be problematic. Due to insufficient bond length in hanger-to-arch connection, a strengthening scheme using steel channel sections was proposed.  相似文献

The relationship between the microstructural and internal stress evolution during Ti anodising is discussed. Samples anodised galvanostatically to 12 V and 40 V, corresponding to different stages of the internal stress evolution, were examined by in-plane and cross-section transmission electron microscopy. Electron diffraction patterns have been complemented with stoichiometry data obtained from energy loss near edge structure spectra. The sample anodised to 40 V was observed to consist of two regions, with a crystallised inner region adjacent to the metal/oxide interface. Crystallisation of this region is associated with the presence of large compressive internal stresses which build up during anodising up to 12 V.  相似文献

We model numerically the mechanical effects of UV induced photo-polymerization in elastomeric artificial lens. The elastomer is originated upon cross-linking of a silicone matrix. UV irradiation of one side of the lens polymerizes selectively a photosensitive macromer, causing local variations of its concentration. The subsequent diffusion of macromers from high concentration to low concentration zones modifies the shape of the lens and thus its dioptric power. In vitro experiments on artificial lens showed that the power change is dependent on UV exposure time, irradiation intensity and light pattern. With the aim to define a numerical tool able to predict the dioptric power adjustment as a function of the UV irradiation parameters, we setup a purely mechanic finite element model of the lens, adopting a hyperelastic material model embedded with eigen-deformations. Numerical simulations of axis-symmetric irradiation closely reproduced the experimental results, in terms of both lens geometry and dioptric power, for positive, negative and lock-in corrections.  相似文献

A study of port plug distortion resulting from narrow gap combined GTAW & SMAW and Electron Beam Welding was carried out. Thermomechanical finite element analysis of port plug becomes virtually impossible because of the requirement of huge number of nodes and elements. Hence an analysis method based on the concept of inherent strain was used in this work. The computational time required was about 40-50 min only in a Core (TM) 2 Duo, 2.66 GHz computer with 2 GB RAM, which otherwise was not possible with other conventional computation techniques. As was expected the overall distortion due to EB welding was found to be less compared to that of narrow gap GTAW & SMAW.  相似文献

根据车辆的防护要求,以陶瓷复合装甲防弹机理为依据,进行碳化硅木质陶瓷/UHMWPE纤维复合装甲结构设计和数值模拟优化,并制备碳化硅木质陶瓷复合装甲,进行实弹打靶验证防弹性能。在确保陶瓷复合装甲面密度为38 kg/m2的前提下,以子弹侵彻深度为评价标准,以碳化硅木质陶瓷防弹片的厚度、形状、尺寸和布置位置为研究因素,设计了四因素三水平的正交模拟优化方案,利用有限元软件ANSYS/LS-DYNA对所设计的复合装甲的防弹性能进行数值模拟,并比对数值模拟结果与实弹打靶试验结果。结果表明,针对北约AEP-55 STANAG 4569 Ⅱ级防护标准,本文所设计的陶瓷复合装甲最优化的结构形式为8mm厚的碳化硅木质陶瓷防弹面板、13.7mm厚的UHMWPE纤维防弹背板,防弹面板采用面积为4900mm2的正六边形碳化硅木质陶瓷防弹片拼接而成;碳化硅木质陶瓷防弹片对防弹性能的主次影响因素为:布置位置>厚度>尺寸>形状。  相似文献

对不同周期盐雾腐蚀后38Cr Mo Al钢开展了应变速率为0.001~3000 s-1的准静态和冲击拉伸试验,研究了盐雾腐蚀环境对38Cr Mo Al钢材料在高应变率条件下动态力学性能的影响,借助数字显微镜、FT-IR、SEM、EDS等手段对盐雾腐蚀后的38Cr Mo Al钢表面形貌、腐蚀坑深度、腐蚀产物成分和断口形貌等进行了分析。结果表明,腐蚀速率与盐雾腐蚀时间正相关,腐蚀加速过程遵循幂函数特征,腐蚀产物层对38CrMoAl钢的腐蚀起到促进作用;38Cr Mo Al钢的屈服强度随着应变率的提高而提高,随着腐蚀周期的增加而降低,盐雾腐蚀后的38CrMoAl钢断口呈现多处撕裂状特征,腐蚀时间越长,撕裂状痕迹越多,撕裂状断裂使得试件断口颈缩不再是均匀发展,导致屈服后抗拉强度下降,屈强比升高。对J-C本构模型中的应变率强化项和绝热软化项进行了修正,并加入了腐蚀修正参数,使得新模型可以准确地表征38CrMoAl钢在盐雾腐蚀环境中动态力学行为。  相似文献

为了获取TC11钛合金拉伸性能随应变率的变化规律,对该材料开展了宽应变率范围下的单轴拉伸试验。结果表明,随着应变率从准静态增加到动态,TC11钛合金的屈服强度略有上升,而应变硬化模量下降。此外,在准静态和动态拉伸下,TC11钛合金均发生了剪切断裂,但动态断裂面上韧窝尺寸小于准静态断面上韧窝尺寸。进一步对材料在变形过程中的温升进行了分析,结果发现,高应变率下材料断裂面上更小尺寸的韧窝和材料更容易发生应变软化归因于动态加载情况下材料中产生了更高的温升。  相似文献
